Works great and all but I noticed something. It's only scans additives. If the word is just written, like white wine vinegar, it doesnt scan it. I tried it with a sauce that has ingredients like water, sugar, wheat flour and a word I couldnt pronounce and dont know what it means and it only scanned that word. Be careful and dont just scan it with your phone and call it a day. You have to read the ingredients
Reviews for TagHalal food Scan Ingredients
← Back to TagHalal food Scan IngredientsThe default status is Halal which is misleading. Regarding my previous review:I scanned a product's barcode, the result was halal with no additives info. I used camera to check ingredients of the same product, it showed Haram. If you want I can send the screenshots of my scans via email. In short, if a product is unknown by the app, it may show halal with barcode scan, but may show Haram by checking ingredients. The default output of barcode should be "unknown please check with ingredients" etc.
I really appreciate this app and for the first time i can say that i acctually like the notifications i get because they include random facts about health & many fruits/ vegetables etc. which increased my knowledge and understanding of the sunna of the prophet (s.a.w.) with an explanation and biological details/facts. Also you can take a picture of the ingredients list or scan the code on whatever food you get and it lists all the additvies and in which country they are permitted or not & more!
I LOVE this app. I have the free version for now, and even with ads, I've gotten the most benefit ever from any similar health app. The notifications are potent with information and does not require you to open the app to read. I came here from Scan Halal (they ask too many personal information) and my experience here has been amazing. Please continue doing great. I do plan to purchase in the near future inshallah.
Really good app, BUT last week, i scanned a product that the app told Halal. But it didn't seem halal to me as on its packaging, there was meat, so i checked its ingredients, and it had pork in it.... i would request the developers to please recheck all products after adding it to your halal product list and verify it properly through reliable resources, as like me many muslim brothers will be relying completely on this app before buying food.
Hello , i did send previously un email about an issue with your app, with completely different email that's written in apps details, now it's totally different, it doesn't looks like real email to me, to send details on it, you use to have option to add products, can you bring it back ...
This app was my go to for two years but unfortunately I have no idea what has happened since last December because now I cannot load any pictures to send for information. Which sucked because I like to scan whatever I am buying in my groceries and I can't send pictures to give the app more products in their info. This app's uploading picture is not working on my phone nor my husband's.
This is a great app. It shows what is musbooh, haram or halal, by just scanning the barcode! However, if the item doesn't show up, you can even take a picture of the ingredients and it will check it! It even has a list of additives so you can check whats allowed and what's not! This saved my life!!
Assalam O Alaikum, this app is GREAT. I've tried this other app, but it doesn't have the feature that lets you scan ingredients on a product. It seemed to only work in America or something, so I tried this app, and it works! I highly recommend you all to get this app, so you can make sure the product your eating or drinking is halal. It's also good so when you're at the shops you can quickly scan the product as well. Also, make sure you do a bit of research on the product as well.
Galaxy Note 9. Consent for ads button hasn't been working for months, even though i cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled, so can't access the free version. I Click on "Consent" and then "Accept all the consent" and it says i didn't accept all the consent. Good comedy show 🤣. App is still broken. Ah well was informative while it lasted. JazakAllah khair. Uninstalled
Just a champ.this app is very useful for muslims.i would give 10 stars if i could.but some improvement is needed.firstly, sometimes it doesn't detect additives.(i think it happens if the 'ingredients' word is not clear in the packet and some products only give the code number which doesn't contain the word 'E'.in this case,i have to search the codes individually.)Secondly,it doesn't detect INS codes.thirdly,it would be good if this app gives us suggestion of what to do with mashbooh products.
I love this app. It helped me a lot with scanning multiple products and knowing if they're Halal or not . But after the last update scanning barcodes is taking much longer than before. 30 seconds to a minute compared to maximum 10 seconds before. It would be great if you fix this problem. Thank you for your amazing work.
Literally every single product I've scanned so far is not found, what library do you have? 5 products? A part of having the app with ads or subscription model, is hiring employees actively going and scanning German products, not just depending on your users to be taking and uploading the pictures for you (with email being mandatory for submission for some reason??).
Great app. Very intuitive and easy to use specially when scanning and analyzing ingredients from labels. However, the algorithm and database needs update. The app failed to identify wine and beef in ingredients and marked the products completely halal. Update: the app can at least identify 'Meat' in the ingredients just like it identifies PORK. The user can further investigate if the source is Halal or not.
Masha Allah, this app is very useful. However, I often find during scanning that the app shows the scanned product is call but when i check the ingredients list in product and app, they're not the same. I often find doubtful ingredients in the product description but in app the doubtful ingredients are not listed (and therefore the app shows the product is halal). It would be nice to have 'report' or update feature to help updating the ingredients list of the product database.
Doesn't work with Samsung? My daughter got the app on her iPhone and it works perfect but for mine when scanning the same thing that we scanned on the iPhone says item not found, even though on her iPhone it will give detail as to halal or not or doubtful. Please let me know why and if this can be fixed. I really like the app but not compatible with my phone 😒
The default status of the barcode scan is showing Halal which is too bad, I have been using this app for 2 years, but I realised just recently if some products are unknown by the app, it indicates as halal when you scan it. I discovered by chance, I first scanned the barcode which shows halal, when I scanned the ingredients of the same product, it showed Haram and then after I realised actually in barcode scan result, it was indicated that there is no info about this product. Fix needed ASAP.
It's a good app. I can identify many things in terms of halal and haram.
I've been using this app for two years and it has been incredibly helpful in identifying halal products. However, today I was disappointed to find out that after scanning a few items, I was told I need to buy a premium package to continue using it. While I understand the need to monetize, it’s frustrating as this app has always been free and there are other apps that provide similar services at no cost. I hope the developers reconsider this decision."
This app doesn't seem to be accurate, and in the sources list, there's no any islamic source to be sure that the given halal or haram title is trustworthy or not
