I would normally rate it 5 stars, but there's a single flaw that really ruins the app. First of all, it has AMAZING stories, easy to read text and the menus are easy to learn. Its practically perfect....except the buying of points to keep reading. I understand that you need to make money. But making you pay for 3 point per episode only shows people that you want to drain their wallets. (50+ episodes, and each costs 3 points.... that adds up eventually btw). WEBTOONS did it better. Just saying.
Reviews for Tappytoon Manhwa & Novels
App has a pretty good selection of comics. My main issue is that there's not a "my purchases" section. If I'm trying to check on series I have been buying chapters for, I have to dig through my history or go deep into menus to see what I spent money on. It'd be nice to have a "purchased series" section with comics that I bought at least one chapter from on the landing page.
Not worth the time to download unless you're willing to spend money. The videos for free points is a joke since each chapter is 300 points and one video gives you 10 points each, up to 30 (300 points total). Takes forever to get through them. Free points per video needs to be increased and other methods of getting free points, other than trying apps, needs to be introduced. Risking my device to download apps I'm not interested in isn't worth it.
I overall loved the app. But there's something thg at happened, I'm not sure if it was a bug or not. An hour after maxing out my ads, they are supposed to give me 30 more. But there are many times when this was not the case. It slowly gave me 30 more ads, and sometimes it wouldn't give me all of them. Again I'm not sure if this is a bug or just a problem with my device.
The stories are good, yeah, but way too expensive. 300 points per chapter, you have to watch 30 ads to make even a single chapter accessible for free, with no other way to earn them or have them refilled. I'd rather pay a subscription to be able to read as much as i want than be constantly buying points. Personally, this keeps me from being truly invested in the app.
The stories are great, the artwork is good and there are plenty of offers for getting free points. However, I've completed several of these offers spending days and sometimes weeks to get to the required level only to not receive my points once back in Tappytoons. Fix this issue with the points and I can see giving more stars. Until then there isn't much point in me having this app.
Good comics, but super expensive to be able to read more than a few chapters at a time. You get points by videos (too much time for too little points) or by downloading other games with a ton of conditions that you have to meet. There are daily free chapters but the series included are limited. Wish the site had a monthly subscription or something that would be more affordable than the current system. I understand supporting the site/ the artists, but there has to be a better solution.
Although I'm glad that we could get points for free offers, you get a small amount of points, compared to the difficulty of the task. I mean, you get like 5,000 points for doing A LOT of lessons for the game "Obey Me!". It's very infuriating, the app Tapas has the same concept, but you get a good amount of rewards. It's very annoying how you need 300 points for a chapter, and 3 tokens for the same one. Not all of us have the money and time to spend on this app.
For the most part this is a good comic app. However, I've had problems with my account where I tried logging back in with the same email and it made me create a new account. So now I have two accounts (on same email), and on one I've purchased a lot of episodes for different comics and the other only a few. Now its annoying having to try and switch between the two to get the one I want and trying to use my points on the right account. In other words, it's just really disappointing.
Not many genres though, all the comics have pretty great art, downside is its more expensive- the subscription could have better benefits. For free, you can read one chapter of your comics every 24hrs. Additionally, there's two options to get coins for free, ads being one of them. One chapter is 30 ads, take that as you will. Edit: on second glance, the selection size is pretty decent.
