ever since they got rid of the designated registry app, there's no way to add items to a registry from the app. There's no button to do that anywhere. within the registry section, if you click "add items" it will give a button to add the suggested items, but if you click on sections within that or search, your only option is add to cart. it's very frustrating & has caused me to turn to Amazon registry for Christmas & child birthdays, even though I like target's children's clothing.

It actually seems to go to sleep FASTER while using the app than by just setting the phone down. What's the point? Also, it still shows you ads while opening, which is really awkward while people are waiting to check out, and I'm just standing at the register watching an ad. Thanks, Target. Your devs should be fired.
Lots of weird bugs that should have been fixed long ago. The one that is currently irking me the most is that there is a dedicated "wallet" section of the app where you can supposedly add your Target Circle Credit/Debit card for easy payment. I have never been able to add my card. it doesn't even give me an error message I can reference, it simply pretends to add the card and then doesn't. Has been this way as long as I've had the app.
The app is good for finding items in store and ordering online for pick-up. My issue now is that I get an error when trying to enable/apply my saved gift cards. Please fix this, thanks. UPDATE: (9/8/25) GIFT CARD ERROR STILL THERE AFTER LATEST UPDATE Version 2025.35.0.Its insane how one update broke a feature that hasn't been fixed in months. 👎
I miss the days when I could just add the Circle deals I actually wanted and could use. Then, it changed and they added most of them automatically so it cluttered my deals. Now, with this new update, I can't even locate Target Circle. WHY MAKE IT SO FREAKING COMPLICATED??!! It is NOT user friendly, and it makes me want to NOT shop Target at all. PLEASE UNCOMPLICATE IT!!
The newest update with the search bar at the bottom and the swipe to remove/save for later in the cart are horrible, inefficent updates. I have scrolled like normal and removed several items from my cart. I even had my boyfriend test scroll and it deleted items because of how sensitive it is. It's incredibly frustrating and is going to end up with me not buying what I need. Please go back to the old app version or I'll just stop using target pick up altogether.
All this App does is glitch & crash. I can't even get to my account after I was forced to delete & reinstall because all the searches kept glitching and wouldn't refresh. Now after logging in there is no way for me to choose "my store" and it won't let me get past the "choose a store option" and keeps throwing up an error. Even though "my store" should already be saved by default and there's no way around this step.
New updated ruined the app & shopping experience! The deals and coupons section is awful and I can not easily find or add the actual circle deals I used to use. Very disappointed and I haven't made a purchase since the new version rolled out. I was hoping the app would go back to the old version by now. I guess I will shop elsewhere.
Deals don't always work. Buy 4 purchases of $75, Buy 3 $150 purchases.. Do this, do that.. Earn gift cards. Except sometimes you do it, and it DOESN'T validate. I made purchases one time to specifically get the rewards only to be told by the help center they couldn't help me. I made the purchases. Those are recorded clear as day. But all they could offer was I wasn't within the "required dates". Nope! The offer was ON my APP. You can't tell me the offer is invalid. Don't chase the rewards.
1) Wallet section constantly asks to verify the account; says to "check this box" to reduce sign-ins ... but there is no box to check! 2) the "add a gift card" feature doesn't work - it shows one has been added, but then never is applied to your total. All in all, this is a pretty useless app except to view the weekly ads. I want to support Target, but the company makes it far too hard. My "Target runs" are fast turning into Walmart runs -- I never thought I'd say that.
Tried to install it quickly at the store to scan an item. God, it is so lame. Corporate geniuses want you to login into an account (can login as a guest but still), set up a home store, and share everything. By the time i could get the price i almost gave up. And the price in the app didn't match the price in the store by a lot. (40%)
So yeah, the app stinks. Ads are everywhere. Cluttered design. Poor search features full of junk 3rd party sellers, unable to default shipping instead of pick up, etc. The circle free shipping still has a minimum cut-off for lower priced items, which is lame. What's the point of paying for the membership fee if I still have to reach a minimum order amount?
I have used the Target circle app for many many years without problems. I particularly love the order for pickup. The last update has brought frustration upon frustration upon me. When I search it is super slow, sometimes never loading. When I try to add to cart, it often tells me that I have no internet connection and try again which isn't true as I'm on my home Wifi. There seems to also be a glitch with keeping me signed in when I'm only shopping not checking out.
this last update was really bad. I wish they would stop trying to make it new and fresh and moving the search bar around. now it keeps asking me for what my home store is when I open it but no stores come up when I type in a zip code, and it won't let me bypass it. also searching through past orders has always been a problem, with keywords rarely working, and that has gotten even worse.
It's suddenly pushing a popup to select a store when I open the app that can't be closed. When I search for a zip code or city, it doesn't show any stores & I can't close the pop-up without picking a location, so the app is now unable to be used including the wallet. Without the wallet to easily use my target card & discounts, I'll go shop somewhere else!!!
Garbage, Trash, Dumpster Fire I don't know any other way to describe it. Seven times since December 1st I have tried to order same day delivery/Pickup. None of the online quantities match the actual stock. Whether it's a app issue or a Target issue altogether, it's still an issue. Absolute waste of time and not to mention when you order for same day delivery they put double the amount on hold with your credit card so when they're out of stock you have multiple purchases on hold.
My last review was from 2 years ago about how since the update I could not access my app. Well Target did it again. I'm completely locked out of my account now. I have no way to access my previous purchases, which includes shipping information that I need to know about. I have no way of signing in, even as a guest. It refused to do anything and all of my stuff is lost.
Generally, the app is really good. However, they recently added an update that shows you the price of your individual items in your cart with your discounts applied, such as having your redcard attached. I loved this as I could easily compare to other stores, but it seems they now have taken this away. I'm also upset that they got rid of the 1% back on purchases. I make many small purchases and never get up to what is required for the gift cards.
I just upgraded from the Galaxy S23 Ultra to the S25 Ultra. Now when I try to scan barcodes in the app to check prices and such, the scanner doesn't do anything and then I get an error box saying "An unexpected error occurred. Pease try again later." Since I work at target and use this feature when my MyDevice isn't working, this has caused some serious frustration. I've spent over an hour trying to troubleshoot the issue, made sure all permissions are given, etc. No luck. Just junk now.
A decent way to see what current offers and coupons are, and Target wallet is a far more efficient way to pay. But quite annoyingly, the app signs you out of the wallet function sort of randomly. eg I will make sure that I'm logged in in the parking lot of the store (persistent login lasts for months). Then when I go to check out after shopping 15 minutes later, the session has since expired rather than being extended by my using it. Somebody needs to work on their ux
