I've tested a bunch of local news and weather apps, and Telemundo 47: Noticias de NY is one of the better ones I've used. The weather forecasting and alerts are super detailed and accurate, which is really important for the unpredictable East Coast climate. And the news coverage is also solid, with a good mix of local stories, breaking news, and investigative reporting. That said, the app does have a few annoyances - the UI can be clunky, and the ads can get a little intrusive if you don't pay. But overall, it's a pretty reliable app for staying informed about what's going on in and around New York City.
