Was very excited about this app. overall it is great but sometimes the mic doesn't work to pick up what you are saying and then it just keeps failing you. at first I thought maybe it was me not saying it right but then on the name Jimin it wasnt picking it up which is an easy name to say. I have had it happen frequently enough to make me not want to practice every day. without the glitches this would be the best app for language learning.
Reviews for Teuida: Learn Languages
← Back to Teuida: Learn LanguagesWas great, then it broke. Loved the app, worked great for awhile but then it started ignoring settings and stopped being able to access the mic. The app has permissions set, but it still complains about checking mic settings, i also tried to set it to manual mic mode to see if that helps, but it didn't change the setting so it still tried to auto trigger, and couldnt access mic...also the message it pops up to tell you the mic isnt working stays on screen for way too long
Teuida is a pretty good app to practice speaking Korean but lately I've had some issues with the microphone . i dont know if its because i switched phones (had an iphone and switched to a samsung) but for some reason the mic has been acting strange (like it doesnt register my voice even though im speaking slowly) which is weird because when I had my iphone it wasn't a problem. I dont know if the problem is on my end or not but overall pretty good app
I'm having similar issues as others. I'll be sailing through a lesson no problem and then suddenly it can't pick up any of what I'm saying. I've found speaking very loudly (yelling) and clearly, one syllable at a time, fixes the problem temporarily. Meaning yelling at my phone for one sentence, and then it's fine for the next few. It still has issues with certain words though, for example I have to say "금-요-일-은-어때-요?" If I separate 어 and 때 when I'm yelling to reset it, it won't pick up "어"
This app was awesome until lesson 3 of Japanese. if I had only done the first two lessons I'd be giving this a 5 star. But, this app is all about speaking and it just doesn't recognize half the words in lesson 3 no matter how many times I try. As much as I want to keep learning using conversations like this app does, the technical issues are causing so much frustration that I'm getting no value from these lessons anymore. I checked online and I'm far from the only one saying this.
Overall, the app is really great. It helps you learn Korean and other languages, but one thing that really frustrates me is that whenever I say a word in Korean through the mic, it doesn't really pick up what I'm saying. It keeps making me repeat the word over and over again. But the rest of it, yeah, it's okay. But I really hope you can fix this mic problem.
At first, I was nervous to learn Korean because normally I struggle with learning other languages and having to learn a whole new alphabet scared me, but the way they explained Hangeul made it extremely easy to remember and learn! I Absolutely loves this app and HIGHLY recommend to anyone trying to learn Korean. I love the little story conversations that go with it to simulate a real time conversation, and I love the review and repeated word/phrase practice! 10/10 app!
This app has been wonderful from a teaching perspective and it deserves better, but I have to echo the frustrations of other reviewers on technical issues. The mic rarely recognizes short words no matter what, and it will sometimes display the correct Hangeul when I speak but not give me credit. In addition, lately I've been having more frustrating issues like the review exercise repeatedly closing itself on the last word and not giving me credit. I can't recommend paying for this without fixes.
I really like the app for learning Japanese. I have been taking it on or off for two months now and I am able to retain what I learn because I do the practice along with the lessons each day. For some reason though, I can't get the app to give me a point for the vocabulary of "6 things", no matter how many times I say it "muttsu". This is why I give it only 4 points. I wonder if anyone else has this experience. I hope the future patches will improve this issue.
I love this app! I've only been on for 7 days (free version) and i can hold basic conversation and can introduce myself fluently. I feel after a month, I'll be really good at speaking. Teuida is an amazing app, but there are only 3 languages to learn. Hopefully, they'll add more someday and this app will rise over Duolingo!
frustrating app! I had high hopes it, but running into problems with it not picking up my words. I've used both phone and headphones with same luck. I say the word (I do know some Korean and how to pronounce the letters), and it either says I haven't spoken at all or it's the wrong word (despite saying the same word and pronunciation just prior and being told it's right). Only gotten about 6 days in, but 90% of the time it won't detect Job, Canada, or France. Wish I could give more ⭐.
I only just started it but its very well done. the pace is even and there's no pressure. Sometimes the voice listening gets messed up but that technical. The "real life" practice feels awkward but it is good to get over that initial fear (without making a fool of yourself in real public). Overall, I am loving this app to learn Korean from the basics.
Actually speaking is the best way to learn a language and this is one of the few apps that emphasizes that. The speech-to-text is admittedly sometimes frustrating for certain words, but it has gotten better and there are workarounds (e.g. saying a fuller sentence instead of just the one word in question). The app is also great about explaining the use of grammar points. I recommend supplementing with more vocabulary, but vocabulary resources are much easier to find.
This app helps me learn and memorize words and sentences easily. I recommend to anyone who struggles learning languages. My only issue is that no matter what I do, It doesnt pick up certain words like "para" and "cinco". Maybe it's my microphone but this phone is new. I have to repeat the lesson because it says I got it incorrect despite repeating myself multiple times.
This app was good, but there must have been some update where the voice input was negatively affected. It has trouble picking up single syllable words and does not recognize certain consonants on the Korea version. I was struggling to complete Unit 3 with how buggy the voice recognition is. Speech to text would show me saying the correct words, but it would mark it as wrong. it's a shame because this app was initially helpful for me learning Korean, but now it just feels like a broken mess
I love the lesson part of this app. I'm taking Korean and it does a wonderful job of explaining the material in a fun way. However, the app has so many problems. The mic is terrible at picking up words, especially short ones, causing me to fail them over and over. I also wish there was a way to slow down the lesson a bit. I love the practice bits at the end of lessons, but they're way too fast for me to understand and formulate an answer and it's terrible to try to rewind through the lesson.
too many issues, at first it was just mic issues and like I didn't say anything but now it doesn't even open up. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck so I went online to try and talk to someone about it but when I clicked the contact us it just opened a new window going nowhere. I'm uninstalling. It's good when it works so if you can get it to work you'll enjoy learning with it.
Little frustrating. If I don't get a word, it should break it down slowly.(Doesn't recognize small correct words) But my biggest complaint is that it doesn't have a script button. I'm not just using this app, I want to write notes so I can go over vocab by myself. I have to keep pausing or rewarch the video to write down vocabulary. Rewatching the video is very discourging when you can't pronounce some of the words but want to write it down. Other than that, good, especially the missions.
I am loving this way of learning! and I love that can redo lessons as often as I like. I plan to pay for a full year on my next pay check. I'm learning actual helpful thinks vs duolingo that I paid more thrn double for and I can't say your welcome or days of the week, numbers, how to order....but I can now say *I like bad boys* I hate thst thry are teaching me things not important. so I'm loving this app. and the breakdown!
Teuida is a good app! I'm using it to learn Korean, and I've had a pretty good experience! I have a very bad memory, but I actually have learned a lot from this app! A major issue for me is that it often can't recognize when I say a short word, which can make learning a little frustrating, and sometimes my voice almost doesn't go through. It's been happening since I started using the app, but it's fine with longer expressions. I'm not sure how this issue can be fixed, but I hope it can be!
