Absolutely abysmal customer service. Can't connect with a real person to save a life and when you do they make you wait, checking details until you don't immediately respond, then they close the support link! Calling is full of bugs. I can go on forever and this coming from a person using the service for about 5 years and that's after paying for the service! These days you might as well pay $30 for a Walmart card and get full service 'with' data!! Textnow needs to get their stuff together.

WORST WORST WORST APP!!! Could not receive a phone call App was making me sign up and pay to receive a verification text. It's impossible to delete the account and my data. I had to use the chat bot for help and it kept telling me to go to the drop down menu. THERE WAS NO DROP-DOWN MENU. The chat help kept doing the same sequence of steps over and over which led me nowhere. I can't delete my account. This app suuuuuuucks! Going back to Textfree ... had no problems there!

It's kind of bad... if a friend or family member calls me, I usually never get the notification or ring. It limits you to only be able to send 5 pics at once too. Only two stars, because the bubble chats handy. But the main issue, is that when I connect my number to the app! If I need to approve it like on discord, and it sends me a code to the line, but when I try and look, it's apparently a premium feature. And premium is a pay wall, so it really annoys me since I am a minor and don't have $..

This app is a really good app, but I don't like that you have to pay for a verification code, even though it's supposedly free. And also when I call it's very glitchy, it keeps leaving and it has this weird static noise. Use it to call and text, and every time I open a voicemail or a picture, it would save it to my camera roll and take up all my space.

I keep getting missed calls and text that show up late as if I'm not getting them, even when I have DND (do not disturb) turned off. Mind you, my phone is fully connected to the service/wifi, So I don't understand why I am not receiving incoming call notifications. also, I don't appreciate you taking away my back button and auto installing apps that I didn't confirm or consent to when an ad pops up 👎🏿.

absurd pricing. $7 a WEEK to get rid of ads? devs/company are out of their minds. and the app is barely usable with ads. they are EVERYWHERE. you will struggle to actually text because every other pixel on the screen is an ad. do. not. buy. or. subscribe. terrible app, terrible company. I've used TextNow since 2013 when I only had an iPod and therefore no way to text. I'm here now telling you absolutely do not download or use this app. there are way better apps out there.

Update 3: I requested a refund because I paid for a week of verification code access and got 30 minutes instead, and none of the verification codes worked during those 30 minutes. I paid to be able to do verification codes but the websites are all rejecting the verification from this number/app. They just charged me for something they didn't deliver on, that was false advertising. Update: I paid for a week of verification code access but it only gave me 30 MINUTES!!

$5 for a SIM card for talk text and email and maps and whatnot basic data. that's a good deal. the only app that works without a SIM card if you're in a bind and need to make a call on Wi-Fi. however their data is a complete rip-off $39.99 for 10 measly gigabytes of data. shame on you for that -2 stars for trying to gouge prices. also the sound quality isn't very good. I'm going to stick with boost Mobile for $25 a month. and I get more than 10 GB of data. but this helps in a bind!

It used to be good, solid service and features, yet now the ads have become borderline overbearing. Any time I attempt to leave a text chat, I get these fullscreen ads that automatically direct me to the web browser, really sketchy stuff. If the ads were more moderated it'd be better. I understand the need for ads, to keep the service free for everybody, but having ads like that definitely takes away from the experience.

The app works great when it works, but when it doesn't work, you are escalated into a black hole and never hear back from escalations. I am at 2 weeks, crickets. This company doesn't seem to care if your number has problems. So if you aren't attached to a number, and know at any given time you can lose it, it's a good app to use. One other thing they don't play well in the sandbox with other vendors, so if you are using monitor software like Bark, it won't work with text now.

it works decent for free. I use it because my cell phone doesn't get service at home. so I use it to text via wifi. however, the amount of permissions is unreal. I'm not sure why it needs access to the quantity of stuff it requires access to, and it doesn't allow for blocking these permissions, but it seems excessive. maybe it could be explained better, because it looks like a high risk app.

It would be a 5, but it's only a 2 because There was supposed to be a bundle deal. I'm by the SIM card and sign up with current the debit. Or bank card net. You guys support together and I would get. Two months Of unlimited data and right now. I don't have hardly any data besides the essentials. So I would appreciate it if you fix that. If it doesn't Yet fixed and I get my data. You're just putting your guys in a negative hole for bad reviews and? Possibly less customers

Used to be great, now it is a mess. Weekly ad free or lock in charges replaced the old monthly or yearly options, and I was even double billed. Support is slow and unhelpful. I was told I could use this for business, but now I am warned my number could be banned for terms while the listing still markets it for business. Fees are high, ads are intrusive, and many other reviews report the same problems. I am done.

I LOVE the fact I can have calling and text WITHOUT Wi-Fi for $0 a month!! Best app ever! I got a TextNow Sim Card to be able to achieve the benefit of not being required to have a wifi connection. You can either watch ads for the set points to get the Sim card for free which includes free shipping (which is what I did) or pay the small fee of $4.99!

it is used to be a decent app for a free text and call, but if you get the monthly unlimited data, just know the high speed portion is very limited and basic speed. once you use up all the high-speed data, it drops to the slowest speed possible. even certain calls and texts don't go through. right now, certain calls won't go through because of the fact even the most basic of basic tasks on this service requires high speed data (which their high speed is basically basic speed).

Good app to have if you need a second number fast for work purposes or personal reasons. However, there are caveats to it. 1) You get ads popping up after almost every call. 2) Certain features are only given once subscribed to 'lock in' for $1.99 Per Week. 3) If your job requires lots of calls, you will temporarily have your number dropped/suspended while free. 4) Latest bug includes freezing mid-call and won't hang up until you uninstall-reinstall the app.

App sucks. Calls drop. When calling someone, you can't even hear when calling someone. You can be on the phone with someone, and an incoming call will freeze your call, and your volume goes down. It's like a glitch issue. I hate it. If I have an incoming call, sometimes I can't even answer cause the accept or decline screen zooms back into the app. I had never seen anything like that before. this is the worst the app has got, and I have had this app and same number for years. It' not even worth.

I've been using TextNow for 5 years. It continues to be more and more restrictive with each year. From verification codes requiring payment, to now even verification calls. These are sometimes very important messages that us users need. And sure, 1.99 a week isn't a lot but its inconvenient, especially with the insurmountable amount of ads plaguing your app.

I like it however I dont like that it gives you so many different types of subscriptions ..which can be confusing... also the phone plan they offer is questionable. I am trying to put my number but there is no notification or updates to let me know how that process is going. they offer ads in the text threads instead of outside the text box like other apps I've used in the past. some of the subscriptions seems to be doubled. like you can end up paying twice on accident and get confused easily

A Real Deal Five Star Rockstar! I've had times when I had to rely fully on TextNow and I wasn't let down! Basic services are FREE to all users. FREE texts to AND from family & friends. No hidden fees. No gimmicks. No limits. No deposits. No credit card info. I've been using the app for a few months and I have no complaints. There are some pop-up ads, but they aren't bad and don't interfere with texting. I rely on reviews when I shop online, so I gives reviews also... and TextNow gets 5 Stars! ⭐
