Absolutely abysmal customer service. Can't connect with a real person to save a life and when you do they make you wait, checking details until you don't immediately respond, then they close the support link! Calling is full of bugs. I can go on forever and this coming from a person using the service for about 5 years and that's after paying for the service! These days you might as well pay $30 for a Walmart card and get full service 'with' data!! Textnow needs to get their stuff together.

WORST WORST WORST APP!!! Could not receive a phone call App was making me sign up and pay to receive a verification text. It's impossible to delete the account and my data. I had to use the chat bot for help and it kept telling me to go to the drop down menu. THERE WAS NO DROP-DOWN MENU. The chat help kept doing the same sequence of steps over and over which led me nowhere. I can't delete my account. This app suuuuuuucks! Going back to Textfree ... had no problems there!

It's kind of bad... if a friend or family member calls me, I usually never get the notification or ring. It limits you to only be able to send 5 pics at once too. Only two stars, because the bubble chats handy. But the main issue, is that when I connect my number to the app! If I need to approve it like on discord, and it sends me a code to the line, but when I try and look, it's apparently a premium feature. And premium is a pay wall, so it really annoys me since I am a minor and don't have $..

This app is a really good app, but I don't like that you have to pay for a verification code, even though it's supposedly free. And also when I call it's very glitchy, it keeps leaving and it has this weird static noise. Use it to call and text, and every time I open a voicemail or a picture, it would save it to my camera roll and take up all my space.

I keep getting missed calls and text that show up late as if I'm not getting them, even when I have DND (do not disturb) turned off. Mind you, my phone is fully connected to the service/wifi, So I don't understand why I am not receiving incoming call notifications. also, I don't appreciate you taking away my back button and auto installing apps that I didn't confirm or consent to when an ad pops up 👎🏿.

absurd pricing. $7 a WEEK to get rid of ads? devs/company are out of their minds. and the app is barely usable with ads. they are EVERYWHERE. you will struggle to actually text because every other pixel on the screen is an ad. do. not. buy. or. subscribe. terrible app, terrible company. I've used TextNow since 2013 when I only had an iPod and therefore no way to text. I'm here now telling you absolutely do not download or use this app. there are way better apps out there.

Update 3: I requested a refund because I paid for a week of verification code access and got 30 minutes instead, and none of the verification codes worked during those 30 minutes. I paid to be able to do verification codes but the websites are all rejecting the verification from this number/app. They just charged me for something they didn't deliver on, that was false advertising. Update: I paid for a week of verification code access but it only gave me 30 MINUTES!!

$5 for a SIM card for talk text and email and maps and whatnot basic data. that's a good deal. the only app that works without a SIM card if you're in a bind and need to make a call on Wi-Fi. however their data is a complete rip-off $39.99 for 10 measly gigabytes of data. shame on you for that -2 stars for trying to gouge prices. also the sound quality isn't very good. I'm going to stick with boost Mobile for $25 a month. and I get more than 10 GB of data. but this helps in a bind!

It used to be good, solid service and features, yet now the ads have become borderline overbearing. Any time I attempt to leave a text chat, I get these fullscreen ads that automatically direct me to the web browser, really sketchy stuff. If the ads were more moderated it'd be better. I understand the need for ads, to keep the service free for everybody, but having ads like that definitely takes away from the experience.

The app works great when it works, but when it doesn't work, you are escalated into a black hole and never hear back from escalations. I am at 2 weeks, crickets. This company doesn't seem to care if your number has problems. So if you aren't attached to a number, and know at any given time you can lose it, it's a good app to use. One other thing they don't play well in the sandbox with other vendors, so if you are using monitor software like Bark, it won't work with text now.
