Reviews for The Bible Memory App

This app was great for a long time, but in the last month or so it started crashing every time I opened it. I have an Android, and now for some reason I can't do anything in the app. It crashes while it is trying to sync any time I add a verse, look at settings, try to review a verse, etc. It's to the point out where I can't open it at all. Can someone look into maintenance for the app on Androids?

This was was great, a year or 2 ago. I loved it, used it every day. I tried using it now a days and all it does is crash to a point where I have to force quit from application manager. I have the pro version. I have fully troubleshooted. I have reinstalled the app multiple times, I have deleted app data several times, and still when I reinstall, open, and then click anything it will freeze/crash and be unusable. I still believe that this is probably the best scripture memorization app, but I cant use it at all. I cannot rate anything other than 1 star. I have seen others in reviews that have the same issue. Please fix the app, I can't wait to use it again!

I've been using Scripture Typer for several years, and I love it, but there are some serious issues with the latest update. The max review frequency has been reverted to the original once a month from what I had set it to. All of my verses are locked at whatever frequency they were before the update saying "review frequency is maxed out" at 4 days, or 2 weeks, or whatever it is, and when I try to change it, the frequency gets set back to a higher frequency. Whenever I try to open the preferences tab in the settings, the whole app crashes, so I haven't been able to update my own preferences.

I've had this app since June 2015, and I've never found one that works better ... yet it's still incredibly frustrating at times. Changing the review frequency for a collection of verses must be done verse by verse, with no mass-editing options available. Ouch. I've memorized books... Long-click, click, click, click. Repeat 104 times? Waaah... Trying to move a collection of verses into a different folder is even worse. Still, it's the best I've seen, and someday it may become truly fantastic.

Most of the features work as hoped, and work well. However, VERY DISAPPOINTING that speech to text is unavailable. I bought the app because the microphone icon was disabled, assuming that with the pro version, you can speak the verse instead of typing it. Beware: it just makes a recording that you have to play back, and does not work for reviews! It is not speech to text! That would be far more preferable, so that typing would be unnecessary during review.

Warning! This approach is addictive! It satisfies the inner need to complete and succeed. My whole family is getting into it. I am memorizing more scripture than i have in awhile. I love memorizing whole books and large portions of scripture. It's very effective in helping me get the practice i need. There's no better habit than getting my mind fixed on the scriptures.

This app is an excellent tool to help aid in memorizing Scripture--provided the app actually works. Whenever I try to import large chunks of Scripture, it skips over verses, and when I try to manually input the verses it skipped, it still doesn't add them to the collection. It's really unfortunate, because this has great potential to be a really useful tool in memorizing the Word.

This app is great for organizing lists memory verses, but I don't like the review method. You can't see what you're typing when you type out the verse to review, and if you make a typo, there is no chance to backspace and correct. I wish there was a typing box where I could type in the whole verse, look at it, and then click submit to be graded instead of being evaluated character by character with no chance of making corrections. It's extremely frustrating for me.

An excellent app! Been using it since it was called Scripture Typer. It has been a tremendous blessing and a very practical help in committing God's Word to memory. In the future I'd like us to have the option of manually typing in verses, from the numbers to the books to the scritpures, in order to memorize those parts of the Apocrypha or Lost Books, etc., that one finds beneficial and noteworthy. Also noteworthy is the ability to print out our verses on business cards from the desktop.

I have used this bible memory app for years now, and I am surprised by how much it has helped me to memorize Scripture. It has helpful tools and keeps you on track with suggested review frequency of your verses. You can even make groups with friends and earn points to "level up" in the app. One downside is only 50 verses allowed with the free version, but there are often sales for the pro version of the app with unlimited verses. Keep a lookout for those sales if you are a voracious memorizer!
