Reviews for The League: Date Intelligently

← Back to The League: Date Intelligently

This app has potential. Some preferences are lacking (i.e. You can only select introvert or extrovert. There's no ambivert.) The pay wall is very high, which is especially concerning for those that live in areas that produce very few to almost no match results in their area. They want you to connect to LinkedIn. That's an additional privacy concern.

I was on the waiting list for months& had a complete profile w/ detailed content& great photos. Never got in so I finally decided to become a member a couple days ago. So far I've seen 15 bios, most of which were incomplete, didn't match my criteria (I want kids, they don't), w/ bad quality or group photos where I didn't even know whose bio I was looking at. I really thought this 'exclusive app' was intended to filter for the price. Wish I read the reviews here prior to purchasing. #refund 👎🏻

Here's why I don't like the league. I got drafted got some matches, some conversation, I just didn't find someone I liked. I can see I'm getting more likes, so I upgrade. I went at least two months without a like. During that time I get fake profiles, profiles that feature both men and women and repeat profiles on consecutive days. *Update* I canceled my subscription and went back to the free site, I have like 7 likes. Just Terrible.

First off, the waitlist is ridiculous. Secondly, when you finally get in, you barely get any potential prospects. Third, it's just as hard to match as other dating apps. Fourth, it says you can contact a live agent for customer service but there is no number listed. Fifth, if you accidentally press the button to buy new prospects, it automatically purchases them without confirming first.

Just uninstalled for the 2nd time. This time, they keep sending me notifications from groups I never joined. Then, told me they took me off the list for inactivity. Then, when I respond to their Happy Hour notifications, I'm not able to see the connection waiting for me. For all this, they want $399/week which. IDK if it's the pure Colombian or the cheap stuff mixed with baking soda but it's something to give them a lot of hubris to ask for that kind of money in exchange for absolutely nothing.

It's a good concept. I really want to like it and I'm definitely keeping the app. But there just aren't enough users so it's trying to match me with people that are much too far away (100+ miles). I hope it will get better with time. But just from an active daily user perspective I could never justify paying for it. So far I've had one connection and they ended up being a hoarder ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ better luck next time I guess. It would benefit having additional things like personality traits to filter.

Most of the app is nice, once you get off the wait list. The League Live feature is great... when calls don't drop immediately. They give you three 3 minute video chats per event (twice a week), but every time, at least one of kine drops within 30 seconds or starting. The app counts it as successful, so then I'm one down, and barely got to know anything at all about the other person. Would definitely rate higher if that issue gets fixed.

Options are lackluster. Although I'm accomplished and successful, I find the options maybe slightly better than other free apps. I see men from the other apps on here also. I think it's crazy to pay $200 a month just to see more than 3 people a day. I can't even change my pix once up. I live 35+min. North of Manhattan, and don't want to date there. Maybe 2% of my matches were outside of the city even though I set my location to 30 miles North. Same players, different app basically.

This app is extremely over-hyped. I was on the waitlist for like a month (which I was expecting), but once I was allowed to use the app, I found the selected prospects to be completely unrealistic matches for me. There's clearly a flaw in the "algorithm" used to provide me with relatable matches that have anything in common with me. And don't get me started on the concierge, which is just a spam robot that gives you "tips" on how to match with people you don't even want to match with. BOO! 👎

I had been using this app for a couple of months when it started to glitch out. Every time I logged on it would say 'retrieving matches' or something like that and I would hit 'ok' about 7 times and then it would show me the same matches from the day before. i messaged the consierge, got no response and the next day somehow I was back on the waitlist. it says I am 1 in like of some big number locally and globally but it's still sitting there in waitlist and no response from consierge. I give up!

Don't waste your time. Sat on the waitlist for about 2 years. Finally made it to #1 on the waitlist.....and it just sat there, for months on end. Deleted the app then redownloaded today, only to find it put me back at the bottom of a 12.5k person waitlist. The only way I see to get off is to pay their absurd rate to be a member. My opinion, this is just a front to take people's money.

I created this account about a year and a half ago and was waitlisted. I honestly forgot all about the app. I moved overseas and all of a sudden, approved! There's literally no one within a thousand mile radius where I'm at. I gave 3 stars, though, because I relocated myself on the app back to home, and the potentials are great. It's just tough due to me being here for a couple of years, but I might have found someone we shall see! The subscription is ridiculousy expensive.

Even though my LinkedIn is up to date, they've listed my job as a really old one and don't mention my graduate degree. Ive reached out, but they've told me that my problem wasn't important enough, and unless I switched to a paid membership, they would get to it when they can. Why should I invest in an app that hasn't proven its usefulness? The two stars should've have been a clear indicator.

This app is a total scam, they make you put all these details in only to place you on a fake wait list. They say if you become a member it will be faster, when in actuality they have no intention of letting you in until you pay for membership. I've had it installed Fir like 2 months with automated messages saying "I'm close" when my placement number hasn't changed. Total scam, don't download.

This app gives you a simple choice, pay $350 for the yearly membership to use the dating features or wait on the waitlist to be reviewed for at least 4 months. I'm on month 5 with still more than 4000 people ahead of me. While a paywall is usually a good thing, this combined with the waitlist creates a pay fortress. To be clear, regardless of their responses to other reviews, you will have to pay to use this app it is not optional.

Don't even bother! You'll be on the waitlist forever unless you pay (way too much) to get out of it. You can't even tell whether the app is good or not without paying, and that seems pretty lame. There's no way to try it out and see if you like it. Save yourself the frustration and choose a different paid service that you can at least take for a (limited) spin for free to see if it's a good fit for you. (Edit in reply to the copy-paste response: my profile is filled out, LinkedIn and Facebook are linked... the only tip my concierge has given me to move up the waitlist was to check the app every day and pay for expedited review of my profile -- you know, only $ 99. I've been on the app for a full month, barely moved up 100 spots on a local list of 9,000... at this rate, only 89 months to go! Woohoo!)

Unless you're paying hundreds of dollars, do not expect to get in. Even when you do pay, it's not a guaranteed membership. The prospects I get are typically 100s of miles away. I have also been on the waiting list over 6 months. The "Concierge" who you are supposed to text, does not respond, rather it sends you automated messages daily. If you do not have any expectations and if you have lots of time to waste on dead ends, then this is the app for you.

At first glance the app looks like it is only letting quality and vetted people into its services with the wait-list, then you realize that anyone can pay to skip the wait-list so the whole concept is another way of making extra money. I moved about 1,500 spots in two months and have 53,500 more to go so it's definitely possible to do it for free in about 5+ years. I understand they need to make money but just have ads and actually let people use the app. Try another dating app first.

Pretty disappointed. I like their approach, but I never got any matches. I feel like I spend more time interacting with a UI than actual people, which just makes the whole experience that much more depressing. Update: Took another look, my account was un-member-ized since it went inactive so I couldn't see if things had improved. The only thing I could see was an avalanche of concierge spam messages, the last of which addressed me as "%name%"....👎

It's just okay. It's not toxic, at least. But really annoying that there's a paywall for everything, and it's ridiculously expensive even for little stuff like "promote" or "undo" features. There's also a lag in the loading of photos, so when I open the app to look at new profiles, it will show the same photos for the profiles I viewed the day before despite being a different person.
