Reviews for The Metronome by Soundbrenner

Great metronome app! I initially downloaded it only because I had been gifted the Soundbrenner Core Smartwatch. And I love the app so much. The ability to super customize the sound of each beat, the time signature...like, I had a student playing a song in 7/8, but it was composed as if it were almost 4/4, so I was able to emphasize the counts to her using the app and it really helped her to feel the best while she played. I don't use the subscription services (yet), but it's so good

I would love to give you guys 5 stars - the app is great. Easy to use and elegantly simple. I LOVE my Core Steel! HOWEVER...I am compelled to give you four out of five stars because I keep losing my song library. The last time this happened I contacted support and the gentleman told me it was a server error related to a recent update. He instructed me to clear my app data and cache which fixed the issue but I had to rebuild my song database. Today it just happened again - quite frustrating!

Just using it as a simple metronome. I like that I can turn down the volume. It has a couple glitches. If another app has been using the speakers I have to close them before Soundbrenner can be heard. Also, when slowing or increasing the tempo it doesn't always do that. I have to do something else like switch briefly to another app. But, it might just be my phone, Moto 5G-Plus. But overall I really like this app.

Very disappointed. This app cost money when I bought it. I accepted the cost as appropriate for the features it came with. After a couple of years, some advanced features (most notably the playlist option) were taken away in an "upgrade" where you now have to "subscribe" (meaning pay monthly) to get the advanced features that I had in the original version. I don't think this app is worth anything close to what you'd have to pay to get it now.

interface is great, and I love all of the subdivisions, which are the main reason I chose this app over others. However, it the metronome itself will frequently have beats that are uneven and not inline with the tempo. So with prolonged use many instances will occur. When this happened I was using tempo ranges from 132-180, eighth note subdivision, in 4/4 and 3/4. Also beats were on the highest accent sound.

The clicks are off on beats. I tap one to make it a higher pitch but then it does it for the one to the right of it. Like, the order is all messed up. Also, I would love it if there was an option to gradually go higher up in tempo without having to stop and set the tempo first. Would be good for drum chops and going different speeds. This needs to be fixed.

Great programmable metronome. I use this quite often. The ability to make a screen flash in addition to audible click and to adjust latency (especially if using wireless headphones or other Bluetooth tech) is very helpful--even if my bandmates can't hear it, they can see it. Haven't used it live yet, but may on a different device that isn't plagued by notifications like my phone. To the developer:The ability to silence or block notifications from other apps, texts, etc would be helpful.

Piano player and accompanist here who has always been too cheap to buy a metronome, but, this app has been a tremendous help. i love that i can sing the song the way the director wants, tap the beat on "tap", and immediately know what beat i ahould play, then be able to practice without the director. only change would be a mechanical metronome tock sound.

It gets the job done perfectly. I do wish you could have saved tempos though to make practicing easier, as opposed to typing out the tempo each time you want to change it, having the option to select one of your previously saved tempos under a folder (maybe a folder for each song you're trying to learn) with customizable titles for the tempos and folders, would be amazing. Other than that, it's perfect. No disruptive ads, you don't have to pay for the essentials, overall very happy with the app.

Great app overall. My worship band used it today (Easter) live and it was only yesterday in rehearsal that we first tried it. It really helps tighten up your sound, and setting up the songs and set list was super easy. My only complaint is that it is a huge drain on your battery. My whole band started with ove 90% battery and several ran out before the end of the service. 2 features I would pay for: allow more than 5 devices to sync, and have feature that sends vibrations to my smart watch.
