Problems with last update. I've been using this app for almost 2 years with no problems. Now the bottom menu is too touchy. I'll use the remote and go to put my phone down - and my TV switches to another input or streaming service. It happens multiple times a day. I'm going to be trying other Roku compatible remote apps on this store.
Only app that works. All the others can't find my TV when I'm standing in front of it. The only downside is that it takes a long time to load and connect to tv. Works only once. when you go back to the app after using it, it doesn't work. has to be reloaded every time. when trying to change to another app on TV you can't look at the screen to see where you're at. you have to look at the remote to make sure you're hitting the right buttons.
Unusable. The app crashes on startup regardless of which device I have it installed on (iPhone, Galaxy). The solution is to reinstall the app. Once you've signed back in, you can use the app freely until you need to do anything else with your phone. If you relaunch the app it crashes.
Was 5 star. now App closes as soon as it opens. I restarted the phone. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. I deleted cache and data numerous times. internet is working for all other home devices. the roku device is working also. the app is not working. it opens up long enough to load, I can see it is connected to my device then an alert pops up saying the app keeps closing and then it closes. ive had this app since 2019 and it has never given me a problem before. And yes it is updated.
The roku app works just great EXCEPT for the remote. It's been changed from using the arrow "buttons" that coordinate with the actual remote to using "motion", the direction sensitive motion, you move ur finger on a pad. This has NEVER worked correctly any and every time we have tried to use it. I WILL NOT use the phone downloaded roku remote unless I absolutely Have to. I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this change! This NEEDS to be corrected, PERIOD!
this used to be great. I used this for the remote function. over the past 2 months all my devices are no longer I nger found in the app. I went to school for computers and can ensure you that my devices are not only connected to the internet and powered on. but are also connected to the same wifi as well. it would be awesome if roku can add a manual add function to connect directly to an ip address from the app to resolve this issue.
The app desperately needs to have Roku TV's "Input Source Menu" /"Power Button Menu" gain an option to make itself discoverable to this app to take control of the TV when the remote is lost. I should be able to use this app until I find my remote, wait on a new one to ship, see one in store to buy. Alternatively if I could search Roku devices on the same wifi as my app, that'd also make it very useful. For now, this app is just a novelty, good for a prank now and then. otherwise not handy.
I've not had any issues with the app other than an occasional inability to connect to one of my devices. However now my private listening isn't working which we really depend on since one of us works early in the morning and one is a night owl. I know how to troubleshoot a tech issue and have done everything short of restoring my phone which I will not be doing. Please fix it.
great when it works, me and my husband have the same phone, and his remote always works, but mine doesn't. I have to restart my phone every time. it crashes, and stalls won't work. I've updated it and everything. It's annoying to restart my phone every time to use it. I've closed apps cleared cache. my wifi is great. There's no reason for it to do what it does. I'm seeing others with the same complaint.
I really only use this for the remote, which is what I'm making a review about. My partner has an iPhone, I have a Samsung, and since having this TV, I've laughed that his app doesn't have a power button to turn the TV on and off. (For whatever reason, our actual remote doesn't work for volume or power.) And now I feel silly because mine randomly disappeared like a week ago. Don't know if that's some kind of bug, but I would love to see it fixed. Other than that, it's been great to me.
