Been using The Roku Channel for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that gives you access to hundreds of live TV channels, plus a bunch of on-demand movies and shows – all for free. Pretty solid if you’re looking to cut the cord and save some money on cable.

Here’s what you can do: there’s live news, sports, cooking, kids shows, and all kinds of other channels. And it’s got some exclusive Roku Originals too, which are actually pretty good. And you can browse a huge library of popular movies and TV series – took me a while to figure out all the different content sections but it’s all organized pretty well.

Look, if you’re sick of paying for a million streaming services, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the live TV guide can be a little confusing and there are ads if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want free entertainment.

So here's my honest take on The Roku Channel. I've tested a bunch of free streaming apps and this one's pretty solid. The selection of live channels is really impressive, way more than I expected. The on-demand movies and shows are decent too, though the recommendations algorithm could use some work. In my experience, the app runs smoothly and the interface is easy to navigate, even if it takes a little while to learn where everything is. I'd say it's a great option if you're looking to cut the cord but still want access to a ton of content.

Great app! I really enjoy watching the classic tv shows. l am hoping to finally set up my in-laws with this app and convince them to "cut the cord".
