I have paid for the Insider subscription for years, now because TOH has hired an incompetent vendor to update their website I can no longer view, it keeps freezing up and locking. Repeated emails to Avery have made no difference. After 40 years customers no longer matter.

Awful. I sign into my account and it brings up a display from time to time asking me to "subscribe" - which I already did! The account section of the app is not good and makes for a frustrating experience. It's tough because I really like all the content from This Old House." 😔

I am leaving after 1 hour. Even though I subscribed, there were still adds, plus it will not remember where you left off. Firehouse wanting Chromecast, I mirror it to the TV, don't need Chromecast.

Huge fan of TOH and have been watching it for over 30+ years, but this app doesn't represent the quality one would expect from TOH. I pretty much have to sign in each time I go to watch an episode and I can't broadcast it to my TV! Come on guys... fix this!!!!

The program is great the app is a little behind as you have to manually go to the season and episode you were watching before. it doesnt remember your place. Update they fixed the issue with the App. 5 stars...

I treated myself to an Insider subscription, but I'm regretting it, because the UI is so awful. Which episode did you watch last? NO WAY TO KNOW! Did you only finish half of that last episode? hope you remember which episode & how far to FFWD because there are no clues in the UI. Oh, and even if you force-close the android app, a notification remains! I left one star because Bob Vila's hat in season 1 is so hideous that making fun of it is the best part of the whole experience.

Great app. You get to watch every episode of TOH, ATOH and loads more stuff, with no ads (if you subscribe), no more watching on YouTube. Like all other comments, casting to a TV isn't available (unless you mirror your phone). Great binge watch.

I have the app on my Fire Stick and mobile device. I love watching all the old seasons of This Old House starting from the very beginning of 1979 or so. I am a nerd. Very interesting and thank you! I plan on watching as many seasons as I can in chronological order. I like the new seasons as well and it's nice to have the whole archive.

Why is this app not yet available for Smart TVs using the Android TV and Google TV smart platforms? I don't want to watch This Old House on a little 7inch smartphone, I want to watch it on my Sony 55" X90J 4K TV which uses Google TV. It is totally pointless and a waste for me to have to have a Roku plugged into my TV just for one single app.

No ability to cast videos to the TV, and casting from the browser is a terrible, choppy experience that makes episodes unwatchable. My primary desire for this app is the ability to smoothly cast episodes to my TV, which this doesn't do.

Great platform for viewing This Old House videos on mobile devices! Smooth interface that makes it easy to navigate the content and view episodes in high quality. Next, TOH Insiders (like me 😊) need a video app for Samsung TVs and apps that deliver a better e-reader experience for the magazine archive. Hope that's in the works too!! Very excited about all of the new ways you are sharing TOH!!!

Too many commercials. I love the idea of the app over the website, but the website doesn't have commercials. It seems like you finished a commercial, the show comes back for a few minutes and another commercial. I spent a lot of money for the TOH package. Not pleased.

Horrible App. I love This Old House and have been an "insider" for as long as the program existed, but this app is terrible. It is not a professionally done product at all. It is buggy and simple thing like using white text on a light gray background which makes the text unreadable is a fail. Constant connection problems when other apps and the web browser connect fine. I have had to resort to watching the episodes in a web browser. Whoever released the app in this condition should be fired.

I don't really care if I can cast to my TV, I only watch on my phone or tablet. What I don't like is that at least 4 or 5 times throughout a season (I usually watch 2 episodes a day) I have to re-log in. Recently it doesn't give me the option to re-log in and only comes up with the free trial option and automatic subscription which I already have. Great content tho.

The app does not recognize the fact that I have an Insider subscription even though it shows that I am signed into that account. When I go to watch a video it asks me to subscribe. I am able to watch videos in a browser so I know my account is active. I emailed app support 3 weeks ago. I'll edit this review if I ever hear anything.

This Old House is 40+ years of great content and personalities whom I deeply appreciate and admire. But this app adds little value on android. Please add proper chromecast support. As an Insider it would be a big value add to my subscription if this or the website had better chromecast support. +1 to other reviews, it was very difficult to navigate episodes after the update a few months ago. Your responses suggest you fixed that. I'll have to take a look.

Now I just want my money back. I paid a full year of Insider, but cannot access it in the app. I've tried to get it resolved via emails but to no avail. Waiting months for them to get this issued resolved I finally lowered my rating, not on account of TOH, but for the low standards for their app to work properly. If you are considering starting the Insider program, I suggest waiting until you see members posting positive reviews. *UPDATE: They no longer respond to emails. Very disappointing!

Don't expect this app to be able to cast to Chromecast. For the last 3 years they have been "trying to include a Chromecast button on the app." Seriously, they asked me if I tried AirPlay to fix the issue. "Oddly enough, no... I didn't try APPLE AirPlay from the Android app..." Clueless. Seriously not what I would expect from This Old House.

I love This Old House, but there are two major deal breakers with this app. First, no Chromecast makes me wonder what the point of the app is in the first place (though I could get around this by casting my screen). Second, the ads have gotten so intrusive that it's unwatchable. I don't mind an ad here or there, but playing 15 minutes of unskipable and repetitive ads for a 22 minute program makes this an easy uninstall for me.

Not Chromecast or screen mirroring capable. Cast my screen and volume goes out, video freezes, etc. Doesn't even keep track of what videos have been watched, so every time you log in you have to remember and go thru the whole app to find where you left off. Tragic, because I love this show and paid for the year of use.
