Reviews for Tile: Making Things Findable

Absolute garbage. Don't waste your time. No matter what I do, he keeps saying - can't find my phone because the Tile app is not running in the background. And it is. Unable to receive push notifications. And they are running. Out of battery. And it's fully charged. Absolutely useless device and an app!!!

It works, but it needs to be improved. You should have to press the tile button at least 5 times in order to call your phone. My tile (linked onto my keychain in my pocket) continually calls up my phone when it is in my pocket, and it is quite aggravating at times. I don't care if I have to press the button 10 times in order to call up my phone. Just make the false activation alerts stop!

The app is fine been using tile for many years. HOWEVER today I went to buy a couple of new tiles only to find out you are forced to purchase life360 insurance like subscription. Which doesn't show in the cart until you go to enter your info for the order and you can't remove it from the cart nor can you process the order without it. Deceptive business practices is what comes to mind. So I'll be finding a new tracker. This of course is after I renewed my subscription.

If you lose something, don't expect this thing to update at all for you. I lost an earbuds case days ago and it still says it's in some parking lot somewhere. I am guessing it somehow slipped out of my gym shorts and fell out when I opened my car door. I any case, really frustrating to have to rely on other tile users to help me find my missing case.

I tried to ring my phone with the tile and with another device with the app. it wouldn't ring. I also tried to ring the Tile on my keychain and the app didn't give me the option to "Find" even though it was 20 feet away. Yes, all the suggestions have been checked: "the app is running in the background, Bluetooth is on, the Tile app's permissions are correct, the Tile device is in Bluetooth range, new Tile." It just doesn't work properly. My suggestion is that Tile test their own app.

Android: Pixel 5: works most of the time. When you start to rely on it and it just straight up can't sense you keys that are laying right in front of your phone while Bluetooth is on and everything, that kind of defeats the purpose, because you think it's not in the house and it actually makes it harder to find than if you were just looking for your keys based on memory.. Airplane mode on and off fixes it.

The one time it worked it was awesome. Trying to find keys in my house, having the damn thing 2 feet away from them. It won't make a sound, it will tell me the signal is pretty strong after a minute or two because it's so damn slow and that's with the "pro" tiles. I'm definitely going to look at the competitors for my next purchase.

Convienient but not really something you should rely on. I have had 5 trackers, two were lost and I've had two of the trackers break. One lasted a year, the other a month and a half. I haven't ever had the tile network ever find anything, I don't know if there are enough users to make it worthwhile. The app is unpleasant with the popups and advertisements. It is functional even if basic on device features like alerts for disconnection are locked behind a subscription. edit: reminders to rate it

Terrible. Would not let me pair the ones I bought, and kept forcing me to buy theirs. I cannot comprehend how this thing is supposed to work. Lost my wallet with a slim in it, and it is useless. Will not recognize account, so reset password. Log in, but it forces me to buy. It is incredibly convoluted. 2* is being kind.

It works. For some odd reason requires location to be on to have the key fob button make my phone alarm. I'm pretty sure this is done over Bluetooth. Having to keep GPS location turned on runs the battery down on my phone. So I use my garmin smart watch find my phone function instead. If I could get the fob to generate an alarm on my phone without the need for GPS running I would rate this higher.

Stopped connecting. I'll have the title literally touching my phone, and it won't work. I also have Bluetooth working with other things, and the tiles have batteries. edit: It also logged me out for no reason, so I had to wait for my wife to reset the password for me to even log in. and it would also randomly tell me my wallet was left behind, when it is still in my pocket. this app is beyond worthless and terribly made. and no, I'm not troubleshooting YOUR app for you.

The only times I ever needed Tile to work, it did not. These are essentially expensive keychains. I owned two until the items they were attached to were lost. The first was never pinged again, last update 342 days ago (the last day we had it). But hey, at least it can tell somehow it's low on battery? What the hell. The second has a location that we went to and found nothing. It said we were not close enough to ring it, even though we were on top of the GPS location IT gave us. Waste of money.

The majority of the functions of the Tile™ you've already purchased can only be accessed via subscription. Gross. It's also gross you have to buy a whole new Tile™ when the batteries die. That being said, the "free" uses (or really the only usable feature that comes with the product you already paid for) is ringing the alarm and playing a very localized game of hot and cold. For my crippling ADHD and memory issues, it's a life saver. If it was accurately advertised and sustainable, I'd say 5/5.

When you live with ADHD, being able to find your keys, phone, wallet, good headphones, TV remote, and laptop without a half hour or searching is such a game changer. As long as I have one tag, I can find anything else I have tagged. I've been using this for a year and I've probably already saved 200 hours I would otherwise have spent searching for things.

This is decent for finding lost keys or phones around the house, however when it comes to lost luggage in another country, it is considerably lacking. The last updated location is from 3 days ago in a different country and cannot locate the luggage with "notify when found" turned on. The reimbursement offer for paid subscription if they can't find your tile only takes effect after the trial period ends which will be too late for lost baggage. Airline policy is 21 days. Airtags may be better.

Mostly, this app is good, and if your Tile is in a busy area with plenty of potential users around, you'll get useful location pings BUT. They need to make the most recent location marker a different color because when your Tile has passed a place frequently, when you click on the most recent location, you're presented with a page full of circles and no way of knowing for sure which one was the most recent. It's unnecessarily annoying! Just make it red or yellow or something!

I've never seen an app that only seems to work some of the times. Act actively gatekeeps the one reason why you bought the device behind a paywall. I've lost two items thanks to the Tile not only not being able to give me an accurate last location (only to find it in my car two weeks later) but also not being able to ping the item remotely just to see if that's the case makes it feel so useless.

TLDR: Great Product. App login/account creation needs improvements. Creating an account in the app is kind of a PITA. I already had an account which I forgot about but when I put in my email and password to make a new account it just said "Email and Password don't match" instead of "This account already exist" so it took me 5 minutes to figure out how to login rather than the 30 seconds it should've taken me. Which after finally logging in it literally took 15 seconds. It was awesome.

Does NOT work. You can be just a few feet away from them and your phone won't connect. You won't get the "find" button to even show up on your app half the time so you can't ask them to ring, and even when you do press the find button, it won't even ring. The app just sits there with an animation as if it's making the tile ring but no sound comes out. Even if it's sitting right in front of you unobstructed! COMPLETE junk and a waste of money. Great idea, HORRIBLE execution. Don't even bother.

basic functions are not working. I have 2 tiles. the "find" but was missing on one, so I updated the app, and now it's missing on both. Also, when I go to the map view, it appears to be frozen - I can't zoom or pan the map to help find the location. So the 2 most basic functions of the app appear to be broken. Hopefully they devs get this fixed soon... I'm about to leave on a trip where I was planning to use my tiles, but now may be forced to find another option. disappointing.
