Absolute garbage. Don't waste your time. No matter what I do, he keeps saying - can't find my phone because the Tile app is not running in the background. And it is. Unable to receive push notifications. And they are running. Out of battery. And it's fully charged. Absolutely useless device and an app!!!
Reviews for Tile: Making Things Findable
It works, but it needs to be improved. You should have to press the tile button at least 5 times in order to call your phone. My tile (linked onto my keychain in my pocket) continually calls up my phone when it is in my pocket, and it is quite aggravating at times. I don't care if I have to press the button 10 times in order to call up my phone. Just make the false activation alerts stop!
The app is fine been using tile for many years. HOWEVER today I went to buy a couple of new tiles only to find out you are forced to purchase life360 insurance like subscription. Which doesn't show in the cart until you go to enter your info for the order and you can't remove it from the cart nor can you process the order without it. Deceptive business practices is what comes to mind. So I'll be finding a new tracker. This of course is after I renewed my subscription.
If you lose something, don't expect this thing to update at all for you. I lost an earbuds case days ago and it still says it's in some parking lot somewhere. I am guessing it somehow slipped out of my gym shorts and fell out when I opened my car door. I any case, really frustrating to have to rely on other tile users to help me find my missing case.
I tried to ring my phone with the tile and with another device with the app. it wouldn't ring. I also tried to ring the Tile on my keychain and the app didn't give me the option to "Find" even though it was 20 feet away. Yes, all the suggestions have been checked: "the app is running in the background, Bluetooth is on, the Tile app's permissions are correct, the Tile device is in Bluetooth range, new Tile." It just doesn't work properly. My suggestion is that Tile test their own app.
Android: Pixel 5: works most of the time. When you start to rely on it and it just straight up can't sense you keys that are laying right in front of your phone while Bluetooth is on and everything, that kind of defeats the purpose, because you think it's not in the house and it actually makes it harder to find than if you were just looking for your keys based on memory.. Airplane mode on and off fixes it.
The one time it worked it was awesome. Trying to find keys in my house, having the damn thing 2 feet away from them. It won't make a sound, it will tell me the signal is pretty strong after a minute or two because it's so damn slow and that's with the "pro" tiles. I'm definitely going to look at the competitors for my next purchase.
Convienient but not really something you should rely on. I have had 5 trackers, two were lost and I've had two of the trackers break. One lasted a year, the other a month and a half. I haven't ever had the tile network ever find anything, I don't know if there are enough users to make it worthwhile. The app is unpleasant with the popups and advertisements. It is functional even if basic on device features like alerts for disconnection are locked behind a subscription. edit: reminders to rate it
Terrible. Would not let me pair the ones I bought, and kept forcing me to buy theirs. I cannot comprehend how this thing is supposed to work. Lost my wallet with a slim in it, and it is useless. Will not recognize account, so reset password. Log in, but it forces me to buy. It is incredibly convoluted. 2* is being kind.
It works. For some odd reason requires location to be on to have the key fob button make my phone alarm. I'm pretty sure this is done over Bluetooth. Having to keep GPS location turned on runs the battery down on my phone. So I use my garmin smart watch find my phone function instead. If I could get the fob to generate an alarm on my phone without the need for GPS running I would rate this higher.
