Description

Been playing Tilt (formerly Empower) for a couple months now. It’s basically a finance app that helps you get cash advances and credit cards even if you don’t have the best credit score. There’s a bunch of cool features – you can get up to $400 instantly deposited into your bank account, no credit checks required. And the credit cards let you build credit without a security deposit. Looks like over 5 million people are using it already.

Here’s what you do: you connect your bank account and the app analyzes your income and spending to figure out what kind of cash and credit you qualify for. There’s also rewards programs, which is pretty cool. And the customer service has been really responsive – took me a while to figure out how to use some of the features but they helped me out.

Look, if you’re into finance and credit-building apps, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the app can be a little buggy sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you need some extra cash or want to improve your credit score.

Editor Opinion

So here's my honest take on Tilt (formerly Empower). I've tested a bunch of finance apps and this one's pretty solid. The instant cash advances and credit-building features are really useful, and I like that they don't do hard credit checks. The app has a clean look and feel too. But it's not without its issues - the interface can be a bit confusing at first, and I've noticed some glitches here and there. Overall though, I'd say it's one of the better money management apps out there, especially if you're trying to build up your credit.

I thought this app was great until I realized that I'm being double billed for the subscription fees every month, plus the budget feature has never worked and misclassified transactions....
