To everyone who is upset with the amount theyre lending you and how often you can get it, why don't you just use CashApp?? They lend up to like $700 depending on how much you're depositing into your account. There's no monthly $8 fee. Once you repay it you can immediately borrow it again and there's no limit to how often you can do this each month. You can setup auto payments or manually repay. CashApp > Tilt , hands down. no question.
Reviews for Tilt (formerly Empower)
← Back to Tilt (formerly Empower)This is absolutely the best borrowing app out here! It used to be called Empower, which confused me at first when I was looking for it on my phone but when I got a clue it was all good. The amount that I could borrow increased in a short time span because I was paying my loans back on time. There is an 8$ monthly fee that is so worth it, given the fact that there's no interest to pay back with the loan. I used to borrow 250$ from a loan company that charged 50$ every time.
It's an OK service. The advances are very low, actually the lowest of the big advance apps. Like they offer me a $25 advance when MoneyLion will offer me $850 with both apps having access to the same financial data. Fee to advance ratio is also very high, again, comparing to other apps. Pay a $2 fee for $25 or pay $8.99 for an $800 advance on MoneyLion or $3.99 for $170 on Cleo? I think Cleo has the most reasonable fee to advance amount ratio but they only offer $170 advance with same $ data.
Not consistent. My past 5 paychecks the payment has been cleared w/I 24 hours and I'm able to borrow the next day. This pay period, the money was taken but now all of a sudden it takes days to clear leaving me in the negative and dropped my amount from 300 to 75. This has caused me a huge inconvenience. Save your time and do not use this app.
Scam to get your $8! They word everything before your payment of $8 as to you will get a cash advance. After you pay, you click the "Get Cash" button only to be denied. A reason for my denial was "my linked bank account balance was too low". No kidding scammer, why do you think I needed a cash advance? Now I have to unlink my bank account. which is a whole process. For your info, after searching the app, the cancel your account button is under the " Account" tab, at the very bottom of the page.
It wont let me deposit cash from Thrive to my account anymore. Everything i try to correct the error doesn't work. I can't delete the account and readd, I can't add a new card because its just the one account. I have to have it deposited standard onto the Tilt debit card which takes days to process. once I pay back the rest of the loan, Im getting rid of it altogether.
14 day free trial is nice, however, I'm 4 days in and still can't do an advance. Keeps saying to sit tight and it'll take a few minutes, been like this for 4 days. Chat is just an AI that is no help. Did all the usual troubleshooting, no help. Called and emailed support, they said they would escalate and look into it, no followup. Also advance went from 200 down to 100 with no explanation. Recommend avoiding this app.
I thought this app was great until I realized that I'm being double billed for the subscription fees every month, plus the budget feature has never worked and misclassified transactions. I was using auto save until $10 transfer just vanished. 🧐😡🤬. I HOPE FOR A REIMBURSEMENT. These apps seem to have a lot of this type of thing. At $8.00 a piece x 2 per month. I need to review my bank statements to see how long this has been going on. I been using this App for several years.
Been a really big help when needing that extra flow of cash at the end of the month. no hidden fees and they do what they say they will do. consistent every time when I've needed the cash. thanks empower. UPDATED: Since they have switched to Tilt, it has gotten to be the worst in user friendly than anything I have ever seen. the app lacks any kind of support if anything goes wrong. Using the autosave feature can't withdraw anything out. Change numbers, kiss your access goodbye. app sucks now.
takes way too long for the repayment to process and post in the Tilt app, even though it's paid back by debit card. Let's say your advance is paid back on Friday you will have to wait until Wednesday but more than likely Thursday of the next week to take out another one. out of all the advance apps I've used Tilt is really the slowest to credit you after u pay it back. You can't take out another one until repayment process. It's annoying and is definitely not common practice.
I use this app for over almost a year when it was in power. Since the change to tilt, it's totally been frustrating. More frustrating than filling my taxes. I wish they would have kept everything the same now. They're saying that my account is not eligible but it's showing that I have a fifty dollar advance available , but when I go to accept the advance , they want to see my license again , i've uploaded my license at least forty five times but it always gives me a error. so Sick of tilt
This program has worked well for me for many months but now since it has switched hands and has become Tilt, I've had nothing but problems and there is no help support available. BEWARE because you will be charged money from your bank account that you don't owe and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it!!! Now they tell me that my debit card does not match my checking account so I can't do instant transfers. It's the same debit card I've always had and nothing has changed.
It doesn't show recent transactions since July. Email from Plaid confirms bank account is connected. How is the app to know when I get deposits so they can approve the loan? Said no regular deposits in the see if your approved screen. My balance didn't update again. Nothing has changed deposit or bill wise. I miss Empower. Used to get $350 offered every month. Paid on time. Now not even $10 is offered. 😔
Used to really like this app, but I guess with the changes it's not what it used to be. On top of that, I was eligible for cash, mind you I did the 1-2 business days. I got the funds and not even 24 hours later it says the repayment date is tomorrow, like how? How am I expected to pay it back that fast, especially if I needed it for emergencies. Definitely won't be using this again. It definitely helped me out in times of need, but as mentioned, was better before, it lags me out sometimes.
Seems to have gone downhill. Maybe it's related to all the recent changes. The app lags sometimes when trying to go through some of the features and it has logged me out while using the app. Also, their system automatically detects when you get paid. I am paid twice a month, every month, from one employer and to the same account every time. But their system can't detect that and the support staff is unable to change or update anything. I'm not even sure why they bother to have a support staff.
During the change from Empower to Tilt, the app immediately pulled back a payment after an advance. Needing the advance, I did another draw, even though that meant paying for the draw again. Found out that the payment for the draw was not credited, even though they reset the draw amount available, and now I have double payments due at the end of the month. AND THERE IS NO OPTION FOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT CONTACT ON THE APP/WEBSITE.
**see edit** better than any app I've used before, no membership fee, instant help when you need it, straight forward. my only gripe is having to wait 5 days after repaying to be able to access anything. I like the cushion just in case. edited to recant that statement. I paid my advance 5 days ago, the money came out of my account, has been clear and shows as paid in the app history, but outstanding when I look at the details. I'm downgrading to a 1 until this gets fixed.
Glitchy app and customer service is either non-existent or just abysmal. I was approved for a cash advance a week ago, but when I try to make a draw, the app gets stuck. Reached out to customer service a week ago and got a boilerplate email about how their team would review it and someone would get back to me... and then nothing. I've sent two follow-up emails to inquire about the status, and received no response. Cancelling before my free trial expires but what a waste of time.
The app used to be great but since Tilt took it over, its terrible. All of a sudden my repayments are pending and you cant take out another advance for 5 days??? My repayment was done on my debit card, the same way it always has been and has cleared the bank! I have a family emergency and was counting on the process being the same this time since I've paid them all on time! and yall make it hard to cancel the service. id give it 0 stars if I could.
Started out ok. Repaid my advances on time or early. I was only eligible for $75. When I paid the last advance ( on time), they dropped my limit to$25 for no apparent reason. So I tried to cancel my subscription and remove my bank account. Even though my advance repayment has cleared the bank and the last month of subscription also paid and cleared, the app will not let me close accounts or remove my bank. If I ever get this resolved I'll never use them again and by the way, the app is useless.
