I paid for a subscription and never got confirmation or any way to use the service, but was charged. There's no customer support number and it takes at least a week or two for them to reply emails, in which they just said to complain to Google wallet (even though I purchased through the website). Then they said that they had no record of my subscription. It became a recurrent charge, and I was able get my credit card to cancel it. I would look for any of the other services before paying here.
Reviews for Timeleft
← Back to TimeleftBecause Timeleft keeps the dinner location secret until the day of the dinner, it can be impossible to get to the dinner. But if you cancel more than a couple of times on the day of the dinner, you're out. They do not refund unused subscriptions; they say Google Play must. Google Play says only the developer can do the refund. It's like a scam sending you back and forth.
It's a little pricey having to buy the ticket and the meal and the place they booked us at was a little expensive, But I read other reviews and kind of knew that going in. If you have the money, it's a great way to just meet random people. Generally most people are pretty good in this world. We just get blocked by all these weird politics and ideas and stuff like that. So I think it's a great idea to just sit down with a bunch of random people and have a meal. Definitely was a fun experience.
Pretty mind-boggling that the creators would scale their app to the extent that they did when it doesn't even work right. Reserved one dinner and the app said booking confirmed and then no further updates. Dinner is tonight and still no updates. Reinstalled, tried on browser, same thing. Support ticket response time is 5-7 business days... Funny, the part where they charge my payment method seemed to work without issues. Guess I'm grabbing a table for one tonight. Don't waste your time.
Well, I have a dinner in 1.25 hours and looks like the app has crashed so I'll go, as long as I can remember the address (I think it's in my email), otherwise I'm showing up even more blind to an already blind dinner. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app; it didn't help. And I better not be counted as absent, I paid for this subscription
I paid for a 1 month subscription through play store, and then immediately booked a dinner, and paid for the ticket. since then I have been trying to get the dinner ticket refunded since it would have been included in the subscription, and I have been given the run around. Timeleft says they have no record of the subscription payment. However, it's here, in my playstore subscriptions.... not impressed.
It gives you options to choose based on meal price point and initially I started with the more expensive meal options. Then later went towards the cheapest restaurant meal options and found that there was really no difference in terms of meal price points. It's all just kind of expensive. It would be great if they really did have fun budget options but it doesn't seem like that's something they actually do
It's okay. Really not a fan of the scheduling being on only Wednesdays - that's one of the worst days of the week for something like this especially at the times they suggest. Needs to be on Fridays and Weekends. Other than that, it's pricey. You got to buy a ticket or subscription and then buy your food, and because they don't really tell you what the place is until the day of, you will not know how expensive the food is gonna be. The "$$" budget setting doesn't really tell me much.
Worst customer service I've ever experienced! I booked my 1st dinner and they sent me to a restaurant with a super limited menu that was more expensive than the price range I signed up for. I reached out to customer service twice because I couldn't eat anything at the restaurant with my dietary restrictions and got blamed by customer service for not noting that in my profile on the app and then they ignored anything else from me. There's not even a place to note a medical restriction in the app!
I went on 3 dinners through the app. The first 2 were ok. On the 3rd dinner, Timeleft sent me to a closed restaurant. I double checked the name and address. There's no phone # to call when this happens. I emailed customer service and all they said was sorry for your experience. I explained I'd like my week comped since I paid the subscription and the restaurant they chose was not open. All my emails have been ignored. I've sent 5x with no response. Worst customer service I've dealt with.
I'm not one for reviews, but I think for once I have some constructive feedback- as others have said, there are some technical issues fo be worked out (my app told me everything began 20 minutes before it should for example). Also, no one at my table had allergies, but I think questions about allergens should be included. Our restaurant had a LOT of shellfish even though it doesn't describe itself as a seafood restaurant. Otherwise, works as intended and I enjoyed myself.
The events are wonderful - I highly suggest. The app needs more work. The dinner location should be linked to maps directly. The app itself wants to spoonfeed me information, it's kind of frustrating, but maybe there's a reason for it. It's a bit stiff and needs more tailoring to be more user friendly. Otherwise, take a risk and try it, very cool concept.
Break bread with strangers! Amazing way to meet people. Conversation is always great. This app (typically) attracts adventurous people who want to get to meet others. The vibe is never judgmental, always welcoming with a genuine curiosity. Tonight, my group connected with one another on Instagram during dinner so we could stay in touch. If you're looking for ways to connect with people but not sure how- This app is your answer.
The app is straight up non functional. I booked a dinner, went, met some cool people I wanted to match with, just for the App and website to throw "feedback error" at me whenever I went to match with anyone rendering the entire thing useless. I tried on a different device, browser, reinstalling the app. Nothing has worked. It just sais "feedback error". So I guess I'll never meet those people I wanted to again. Anyone that asks I'll be telling them it just doesn't work. Don't waste your money.
3.5 stars. It's a good idea and I've met some cool people in my area. It's pricy though - I've selected the $ option (as opposed to $$-$$$$) multiple times and pretty much every time they've sent me to expensive places in the $50-$100 for dinner range. I've had to cancel a couple times because the menu is beyond my budget. Why not send us to one of the many affordable taco or sandwich places in the area?
App is pretty minimal and if you need any support or have questions about the program there's no support. Apparently there's a WhatsApp group they invite you to after you've gone to dinner so you can meet more people? I've been to two dinners and never got invited to that. Both dinners had people flake and I only met one person (other people were already friends I knew outside of the dinners).
Great concept but man, the implementation on the backend is awful. Even the subscription side is bad. Subscriptions renew automatically without warning. The app often displays an incorrect renewal date. There's no good way in the app to cancel a subscription and it does not direct you to the Play store when appropriate. I submitted a support ticket last week and still have not heard anything a week later. Lesson learned: Pay for subscriptions through the app store and then immediately cancel.
Not impressed so far, but I paid for a membership so I'll give it more chances. So far it has twice sent me to the same bar in a hotel, most recently next to where a major sporting event was starting at the same time (i.e. difficult to get to, so half the table was late), and most of the people already knew each other, which seems to totally defeat the app's reason for being. And it seems to have ignored my price preferences for dinner.
The experience is good and you meet a lot of great people, but sadly no one ever actually responds to the survey after dinner, which turns out in limited connections. I recommend getting people's contacts after dinner if you really connected with them. However, the app is currently unusable because it keeps signing me out, and I get a weird bug where I can't send feedback ('feedback_error').
App is very glitchy. Had to delete my account because it entered my birthday incorrectly (along with other parts of the questionnaire) and there's no option to change your birthday unless you submit a service request with your photo ID. I imagine it will be even glitchier for an actual dinner. Sad, because I was excited to try this because the signs are telling me to turn away. Maybe once they get it together.
