Used to be a great little app. Now you have to subscribe to view nearly any of the comics. It's the 3rd of the month and I've already maxed out on the comics I can view without using points (from sharing with friends) or paying. This limitation was recently added and it's not a good one.
Reviews for Tinyview Comics
← Back to Tinyview ComicsEdit: After developer response and the issue being resolved, changed from 3 to 5 stars. I love supporting some of my favorite comics, but am having an issue where any payment I put in is declined, including google play balance and the card I've had on auto pay for the last year. Not having an issue with this card anywhere else- seems to be an issue with the app. Ive emailed customer support but haven't received a reply.
EDITED: Tried to send a cookie and got a pop-up saying "The sku was not found. Please fetch products first by calling getItems" Closed and reopened the app and now it works. Cookie sent! Need some way to enlarge the images, because sometimes the text is too small to read. Usually I rotate the app so that it scales the width to the height of the screen, but tiny view blocks rotation.
Good app i am a science nerd and i like to know about people, inventions and discoveries . But one suggestion i may give please do add the resources from where you are collecting these literature . Because there should never be a wrong message . Comics are best version to understand anything and they will spread easily. Last but not least while pricing the comic keep an average cost so that it can reach many people.
5 stars for all the content on this app. The artists are great. But.. the app.. I know if is fairly new, so anything can happen. But the UI really needs some improvements and there are some key-features that are lacking; - 'continu to read' option. So you can see which releases you have read, and see the ones you still have to read. - SPEED!! That app is really slow, it takes a long time to just open a comic. - The mysterious (x) button? There is a x/close button all the time. Why? - And ...
No pinch zoom or pop-out view for panels, which means ones with small enough text remain illegible. No easy listing of followed strips. No way to sign in without exposing your phone number. Boo! [UPDATE] They've added comments and "friends" which clutters the interface and causes slower loading. Currently there is no loading, only the header, footer, and a spinny load indicator in the middle. I want to feel good about paying for indie content, but this is garbage.
Concept and execution good. Pricing is off. I can see maybe a dollar but 5? Yikes. How did the pricing come about? It's not a well known print comic by well known creators. I did enjoy the Tesla story but not enough to continue. Also clarification on how others can submit their comics for the app would be great. Will check it again in a week. If same pricing I have to delete it. Sorry.
Good Work Most of us will read your free comics and uninstall the app and never remember it. You can provide free comics with little of ads. The comics are really overpriced and we can get physical copy of other comics with a very less price. When the app says it's a comic reader and has
I love the idea of the app and I've been meaning to move off Instagram to something where I'll see my favorite creators but there are two things I find very odd about this app: 1. You can't search series. You seem to have to scroll through recommended series until you find the one you want. 2. You can't follow series unless you receive emails or push notifications. I just want to have those series added to a bookmarked list so I can quickly navigate to my favorites on my own time.
I would be fine with ads here and there, but only 10 comics before you have to pay? Or else constantly spam your friends with comics they might not be interested in? Nah, I don't want to be obnoxious. I know you say 'it's just a cup of coffee' but some of us can't even swing that. I had to uninstall because it makes me feel kinda bad when I get notifications for comics I can't access. I only follow 2 comics and I hit the limit in 9 days....😔
Tho I don't have a very much interest in comics and anime type things but I saw your advertisement on instagram and decided to give your app a try. After using it for few hours and reading few pages. As I myself a UX/UI designer, can say you did a really great job. The colors and the cards placement is good. Also I didn't encounter any bug yet so I can say you guys did a pretty decent work. Keep on the good work and I wish you all a great journey ahead :)
Despite what other reviews say, I am okay with the subscription if it supports the creators. The low rating is for the app itself - the UI. As a first time user I found it extremely unintuitive. Like, why is there no search bar, why can't you easily go to the next comic of the creator. You only get this weird navigation panel thing that seems like a hint, but it's actually the navigation itself. It just feels like I'm in a maze and have to go through a puzzle to get to the comics I want...
Many of my favorite comic artists are on this app, and I am grateful that I can see and easily support them all on one wonderful platform that is easy to use (unlike others *ahem patreon* that are overwhelming). I love Tinyview! ❤️
The app is basically identical to using the web page, but slower. The only difference seems to be the availability of push notifications. UI is terrible, when going from one page to the next, the whole UI including navigation and headers reloads, you have to scroll to get back to the comic as the headers are more than a screen full, you can't easily go to the first comic of a series, and the navigation bar hides when you scroll down, so you have to scroll back up a bit to go to the next page
It's OK, but slow. I'm especially baffled why it's sooooo slow to load single panel comics. I also find that sometimes I have to tap more than once to get the individual comic to load. One aspect that I understand, but despise: there are "bonus panels" that you can't access without allowing push notifications.
The app is slow and laggy, it keeps telling me I am not a subscriber, then when I redo my subscription tells me I am. The comics I follow are not always easily accessible from my home screen and when I click on a push notifications most of the time it either doesnt take me to the comic it notified me about, or the comic won't load. I would use a different app if my favorites weren't on this one!
This app is painfully slow and difficult to use. I subscribed last month, but still couldn't get access to some comics and got messages asking me to subscribe. I tried for a few days before taking my credit card info out , but then there was no place to cancel the subscription. I got charged again this month anyway. Tried going through support and they're giving me the same useless message about cancelling my membership. Have to go through my CC company. Too bad, I like the concept.
I follow a few comic creators here, but honestly, there are better webcomic apps available that are easier to navigate and entirely free to use where you can see the full content of a comic eventually. Edit: You must now subscribe if you'd like to read more than 10 short comics or choose to constantly share and invite friends for points. Ads aren't fun, but it would at least give those of us who can't commit to subscribing a choice if you would allow that as an option to view more comics.
It seems quite beta still. If there is a function to search for comics and artists I can't find it. And if I am following a comic I'd rather just be able to see it in my feed not have to click to open it then sometimes lose my place in my feed. I will continue to use and hope it gets better tho because several of my favorite comic artists get paid better for me viewing their work here.
Deleting this app because I can't turn off push notifications. The only thing in the settings menu is to clear the cache. There's just not enough content on here to make me want to put up with the bugs yet. I want to follow the comics I like to make them easy to find in the app, but I want zero push notifications. Not allowing me to manage notifications is unacceptable.
