I love this app! It's helpful with the music I am working on in my lessons. I also love that they have a big assortment of music you can play with an orchestra. Very neat. Helpful in many ways. Five stars. Love it :)
Reviews for Tomplay Sheet Music
← Back to Tomplay Sheet MusicThe app has nice features like playing sheets with accompaniments and moving cursor to see what next note you should be playing. however the offering of sheets is way too low.. you type in the name of a major band like iron maiden, you get 2 results, 1 for bass 1 for drum... I subscribed a year and I wouldn't do it again because the content is not interesting to me.
I could never find a piece of sheet music I needed.. I think maybe because they force me to click on some genres when in reality I need access to all genres. I don't know but it was totally useless to me.. and then I will Google for the piece online and it'll show up that tomplay has the music.. anyway you were totally useless might try you again not sure
Scam. The only way to print a score is to pay for subsctiption more than a normal score book would sell for. Without that you can only see the score on your phone (wat? yes!). And apparently the subscription cannot be cancelled that easily because your credit card number is too valuable to be removed.
I love this app. As a cellist, we are deprived of duets. Above all, everything is high quality. Keep the scores coming. It's addictive in a good way
I haveTomplay on my phone, but play it mostly on my desktop for the bigger screen. I love this app for playing with backing tracks. The backing tracks are great. There's a good selection of classical, jazz, and pop songs. I can slow it down and it slows the accompaniment as well. Nothing beats a live accompanist, but this is a good second best. I would recommend it for any amateur player of any ability.
The library is incomplete and searching is difficult and slow. Searching for "Rachmaninoff opus 16" doesn't seem to yield anything. For the last couple weeks, the app just flashes black and white when I open it on my Pixel 10 Pro XL.
Update: I have now been using Tomplay for 3 years. I still continually find new features that make the experience more user friendly. I also never seem to lack new music to find and play. If I could give it.more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you so much. Old review. I am learning to play the viola and Tomplay offers lots of supporting music with accompaniment at different levels and styles, as well as scales and music theory. It is a musical paradise for a reasonable subscription fee. Thank you.
Signed up for "free" weekly trial. Cancelled before the end of week, or so I thought. Next had 97 come out of bank. contacted. Said as I didn't cancel in time, that I get 81 refund. So a full month was charged. However, they eventually gave me the full amount back after me explaining. I was appreciative of them for doing this and I think if they changed their refund policy, they would get a lot more positive reviews.
Definitely enjoying it so far. i appreciate the variety of levels to pieces - being a beginner. interface seems intuitive. i like it. only issue is there's sometimes a transparent grey bar from my Android OS that isn't always removed and on certain app interface pages it's difficult almost impossible to click the apps "..." icon under it - no way to remove it. but it only sorts the pieces in my library. so not an issue for me.
I suppose it's a cool app if you have a hard time with counting and maybe you don't understand the notes on the piano very well however as a classical guitarist I haven't found anything on here worthwhile just like you're going to get at guitar shops and beginning stuff there's not one serious classical guitar piece in here. Plus I can't figure out anywhere to cancel as I do not want to be charged after my free trial but I got a feeling that I'm going to be charged because I could not find
Best Christmas Present..to myself! Haven't played much piano in 20+ years, but saw this app and loved the idea of having background accompaniment to make it more enjoyable! Starting from the beginner level, but with backgrounds it's still enjoyable to play! My primary instrument was saxophone, so I'm excited to play some big band arrangements as well. I think I'm really going to enjoy the ability to relearn different instruments at different starting levels!
I am a very amateur piano player and decided that at age 71 , I would try to improve my skills now that I'm retired and have some time. This is the most extraordinary app for elderly people. We are engaging our brain and lifting our souls. I'm sure some of the better musicians have more critical feedback, but I think it's one of the smartest and creative apps I have ever used! Thank you for creating this app and stoking my enthusiasm for piano solos. You have made my world so much brighter.
Predatory practice. I signed up for a free trial and after the time was up I was automatically charged for a year. I IMMEDIATELY asked for a cancellation and refund and they refused to refund me for this month. Horrible customer service I would not purchase anything from them due to their insane policies. The app also has poor music selection and runs badly. Avoid.
Can't login to app. I made an account online and bought a score but I can't login to the app. It lets me log in in a browser. So far no answer from customer service. I can't access the score without the app so at the moment I have nothing for my money. Update: Still can not log in on the app. I made another account on the app with another email and repurchased the score. Update: They have merged my accounts and given me a free score to make up for the second purchase. Finally all is well.
These are decent arrangements and there is a great variety of music. However, you cannot use the background information in a pro public performance for money, so beware. Small performances are allowed, as long as you courteously credit TomPlay for the tracks, if asked. I was pleased with their variety of arrangements, but didn't really find I used them at home enough to warrant the cost. PS I updated this review with another star because they did positively reach out to me. Thank you TomPlay.
I absolutely love this app. The quality of the recordings is far better than most and being able to select what audio track you want to hear make it easy to play along with. Having a visual indicator of where you're at while playing also helps immensely. The wide variety of available music with constant updates is nice too. The only con I can say is I love playing so much I run out of new songs to play. The library of songs could be bigger, but they are adding more frequently.
Disappointed. I made about 5 purchases on the app (about 20-30 dollars total) and had them for about 2 months. I opened my account yesterday, and all of them were gone despite being logged in to my account. I have also found that the audio tracks will suddenly go silent on some songs, so I have to skip that part and fins where the audio works again. otherwise it's a pretty decent app.
I have had this app for over one year. I use it for multiple instruments. I like the variety of scores for most instruments. One that doesn't seem to get anything new added is 'Percussion'. We have a wooden 3 1/2 octave xylophone and there isn't much available for that on this app. For drums, it's pretty good. The vocals are sometimes annoying (not original and sometimes grating). For piano, there is a wide selection of scores from different genres. That's my character limit on the review.
Make sure to cancel ahead of time! I signed up for a year, but stopped using after a few months. I loved the idea behind the app, but it is slow, a little difficult to use, and limited in songs for sax. I couldn't figure out how to cancel and completely forgot about it until they charged me automatically for another year. Even though I emailed back immediately asking to cancel and get a refund, they refused. They did not send a warning email, probably on purpose so they get more money!
