Reviews for TomTom GO Expert: Truck GPS

This app sucks. The only gimmick is showing which lane you should be in, but even that isn't very helpful since it doesn't show which lane of an exit to be in for the next turn, which Google maps does. Speed limits were wrong, default view when not navigating is way zoomed out, traffic patterns were wrong, zero speed trap warnings, and speech to text is a digital voice from the 1980s. Save your money, Google Maps and Waze, both free, are better in every way.

I haven't used it. I just looked at the price. $20 per month for trucks? I might as well pay for Trucker Path which does a lot more. I guess I'll keep using Copilot. (Also, $5 a month for autos? You do know Google and Waze are free, right? I have yet to find an app for car navigation that is anywhere close to those 2. Even truck drivers pull it up for real time traffic conditions.)

When you minimize the screen to use any other function like phone, music app, book app etc, the app reroutes you to what it thinks may be the fastest not what you have already chosen, to maybe avoid the school district when it will be congested halfway through your commute, just because it isn't now. Then it doesn't let you look ahead enough to plan which lane to be in, even when it's almost immediate if you're going 75mph on the interstate, 800 yards goes quickly, then zooms out at odd times.

This app leaves a lot to be desired. First of all, it really struggles to log into the right account (not sure if that's because I have more than one email or not) once I'm finally logged in (which takes so long because once you try the wrong credentials once, it's stuck on a loop where there is no obvious lot out button) then halfway through my trip an ad booted me from my map and I had to pull over to try to get it to work again (I actually couldn't get it to work again. Waste of money. Sad.

I attempted to renew the subscription, paid for it, but app won't update. A bar on the top says something about "Purchase Waiting" or some such thing, but tapping it does nothing; and because their support team doesn't work weekends, no help is available. I got a refund from Google and will be uninstalling when the present subscription runs out. Why pay for that kind of non-support? I may as well use a free app. It's a shame because it was my favorite navigation app overall. Oh well.

it's okay. the mobile version is good but it's needing some UI stuff. for example the exit numbers are very small and hard to notice, when you turn at a light it's very difficult to see which turning lane to go through nor did I understand what it was for at the beginning of using this app. there are a some suggestions that could prove to be useful but for the most part I just had to cancel my subscription

This is the app to have for navigation. I found it to have better routing than Google and Waze. It does fall short on finding business sometimes, but if you have the street address it will get you there. An unexpected surprise was the live traffic. I have enjoyed using TomTom GO for the past month during the free trail. I don't travel enough to justify paying for it, though I am tempted. If I do have the need in the future I won't hesitate to subscribe.

Have three big issues after installing. I predominantly use Android auto. 1st issue, and this is a deal breaker, I can't figure out how to display the current street I'm on w/out a destination programmed. This is a must have feature. 2nd. Font is too small, need to make bigger. Can't see without my readers. 3rd. I need to turn off the speed nany. Update: That setting is enabled. Still no street name. Also I sent an email about inaccurate destinations.

Overall good, but I have a couple of small issues. The map zoom is weird. It stays really close. You can zoom out and it will stay, but when it zooms in for a turn, it barely zooms back out afterwards, so you only see about a mile ahead. It also does strange routing sometimes. Like trying to go around the perimeter of my neighborhood instead of the faster, direct route straight through. It should also give better alerts when map updates are available.

Being a part time courier I need a good navigation app, I was hoping this would be the app, as the price is very reasonable. Unfortunately I cannot even get it to run on my phone, Galaxy S8, it appears that any map you download won't work. I can't add any places or search for anything, just get 'internal search error' message, have reinstalled several times to no avail. Very disappointed.
