Reviews for TP-LINK tpCamera

The Cameras are very good and easy to set up. However, whenever the Apps hanged and when we uninstall and reinstall again, this Apps works again but those Clips which we viewed and saved it would be all gone. It would be good if there is a way to move or re-save them out before uninstall.

Won't stop pestering with useless notifications cameras keep getting locked up and needing to be reset and after a few minutes the feed needs to be reconnected. Sensitivity on away from home is way too high, as it tells you if the sun moves.

I am using the camera for a couple of years. Recently about 2 months it is very difficult to view the camera, it keeps on trying to connect. Previously it would connect in few seconds, now it may take 5 to 10 minutes, and may not connect. Very disappointing.

Stopped working on all my Android devices when mobile. Where is the email notification on motion or audio :/ was told it had this and auto record when motion detected but it doesn't. Device and software are pointless. Hopefully I'll find a app I can use with the camera :(

(updated July 2020). Version 3.1.15 works ok but there is an issue with the detection system (using the NC450 camera). When in Away mode it detects movement initially but if you do have motion immediately after the first detection the notifications do not appear. Also its not compatible with Alexa (Update Dec 2018). version 3.1.9 Works without any issues. Very easy setup. Have been using/testing it for more than 1.5 year

I have been using TP-LINK tpCamera for the past week and I am very disappointed with the app. The free cloud service for life is a great feature, but the app crashes frequently and the live video feed is often choppy and unreliable. I also find the app difficult to navigate, with many unnecessary features and confusing menus. I would not recommend this app to anyone looking for a reliable and user-friendly video monitoring solution.

Had made improvement...can be view with local data...if you are oversea you cant see anything...plus your connection to camera is slow...super slow...that i have to switch it off and on again...can be better...i bought anothee camera with the function like half the price and is better in every aspect...

Buy cheap buy twice. This camera and app has rarely ever worked consistently, more often than not now the app fails to load the live stream. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy a TP camera. TP products also seem to have increased in price recently, taking the one reason you'd buy them away. Switching to hive.

Unreliable. When I first bought my camera (November 2018), this app was amazing. Now it is very frustrating to use. I try to use this as a baby monitor, as that is what the camera was purchased for. Most of the time the app either takes forever to load the camera or it just disconnects. Not good for a baby monitor at all. Also, the app asks if I want to keep watching, and cuts the audio while the popup is active. Why ask that question? If I didn't want to keep watching I would turn the app off.

I have been using the TP-Link tpCamera app for a few weeks now, and I am not impressed. The app is slow and often crashes, which makes it difficult to use. Additionally, the free cloud service for life is not as advertised, as I have had to pay for additional storage. I would not recommend this app to anyone looking for a reliable way to view their cameras.

App bugs A LOT. Nice to have a camera that can change angles... but every time I activate the function the app jams up. I have a s9+ with a ea8500 from linksys. The camera image is nice(n450) but the reason I bought it was the moving function which doesn't work. I'm considering a 3rd party app which I'd have to pay, if only to make my purchase usable... How about linking this to Kasa since all my other tplink appliances are there?

The new version is much better than the previous, however, i think it would be great to have more than just 2 live cameras showing in one screen on phone, just like the windows software where you can reposition and resize the cameras to show more than 2 cameras on each screen instead of scrolling to all of them.

Very useful however the sound only works to hear what is going on in the room, it doesn't allow the remote user to speak so that anyone in the room can hear you. Also it is a manual set for night-time vision and not automatic, which I would have expected it to be. Being able to remotely pan and tilt is very useful.

great when it works and a really clear image and sound quality. However, as used as a baby monitor - which they advertise can be used for- its incredibly unreliable, will loose connection in the night, not turn on once weve put our baby to bed etc. Unfortunately we were bought this as a present, otherwise i would have returned it. Incredibly disappointed for the price it cost.

Very reliable cameras. They never go offline. Did not connect to the cameras with my app for 5 months. Haven't personally been in the monitored premises for this time. I reside in another state. Got a new Sim card and phone. Reloaded the app. Logged in. Cameras working as good as gold all that time without me having to be there personally to reset or do anything else .

Unfortunately with whatever update was done recently most of my cameras will no longer connect the first try. It takes several tries to get to them connect in the app. This happens from any device. I would suggest TP-Link get on this fast as it sounds like this issue is becoming more widespread.

You need to ask me everytime I open the app to write a review? Ok so here it is! Seriously this is a great way to totally annoy your users. Do you even need reviews, since everyone who buys one of your cameras have to use it? What users are you hoping to attract who don't already own a TP Link camera, but just happened to see the app on the store?

I use it with 3 NC450 cameras mostly for baby monitoring duties in different areas of my home. It worked perfectly fine on both my tablets and all 3 phones... Until I updated to the official stable release of Android Pie... Now the app won't stay open like before, the OS auto closes the app after a few minutes. The remote control pan/tilt function also stopped working on my Android devices. It would be great if you can fix that in the next update asap. Giving it 3 stars til they update for Android P.

After installing the latest app version, my NC250 can't seem t o connect, any help to rectify this ?

This app no longer seems to work. It refuses to add my webcam because it fails to accept the correct password. It used to work. The camera was removed for decorating, but when reinstalled the app refused to connect. Deleted the camera, but on "adding" the password is refused. Even after a complete camera reset to "admin" password, app still says it's wrong. This had made my camera useless. The help forum suggested that I buy a new camera. I will, but never a TP Link one again.
