They may have fixed it!! It seems you can choose to NOT sync your routes between unit and the Tread App. It is nice to have notifications without having an app mess with your preplanned routes. We'll see. They may also not overwriting your routes without your knowledge. More tests will be necessary. Fingers crossed.

When do you plan to fix what was broken with last update? App was helpful but no longer connects to device and started pushing "need to connect" notifications to the app in the middle of the night.....? Yes, I read all the "help" items on the device/Garmin website. Until the last update connecting was solid/automatic. Please fix. Thanks.

Won't connect to new tread. After a few times trying, account is locked. Support chat is slow and clueless. After several days trying, thinking of returning the GPS tread 2 I loaded this ap for. At least their software has been consitent over the years. ( it sucks)

I always have problems trying to sync explore data. fix your connectivity problems soon

Will not properly sync Explore data with my Tread device. The last update is terrible. I have gotten two replacement units and sent in countless help tickets and app reports. Going on THREE MONTHS of problems!!! Garmin hardware support is out of ideas, software support has yet to do anything. Expecting resolution soon, I made a route in the app to then use on the newest device. The route is gone from the Tread App, but is on the Exlpore App. There is an obvious problem with the Teead app.

a bit buggy, it does work most of the time

Easily replaces all motorcycle route apps out there and doesn't have subscription fees. Keep it up Garmin.

great app, easy to use. used it to find a trail I struggled finding, plotted the route, saved it, and found the trail!

excellent. It's super easy to find a location on my phone and share it to the GPS

it takes a bit of getting used to but when you do I think it's very useful.

when all the bugs are sorted and ACT's and TET's come std on the device it will be five star perfect

Dreadful for the XT2. You need the app for live traffic data but if you want to transfer a GPX file to it then the app will completely change your loaded route to one that it decides is better. Someone at Garmin is truly laughing at us as they pretend to design software......

The app does not work on many charted roads and secondary highways and neither does the Sump Xt2. It's is also difficult to change destinations quickly so I use Google maps for in city destinations. The tread app and Zumo are disappointing and not good value considering the price. Not recommended.

WARNING! Tread is not fully compatible with premade GPX routes 1.1 & 1.2. This causes your XT2 to freeze, super slow calculation or failing to calculate. use GPX tracks and convert them on the xt2 itself to avoid this problem. for Garmin devs: just make Garmin drive compatible with the XT2, tread is redundant.

meh, Garmin moto needs to collaborate with the Garmin Connect group. Many "features" are in stark contrast to the rest of their platforms. ex: android Tread app double tap and zoom is backwards from every app out there. For some inexplicable reason, the zumo hardware does not follow the same routing as routes in the Tread app. The lock on the Zumo hardware counter intuitive and the exact opposite from the Garmin Edge series computers (short power press on Zumo turns it off, Edge locks the screen

one of the most frustrating apps I have used.. why ? well one sets. a start and destination point. you would think these would be fixed locations eh ? then when you try adding shaping points, to shape the route between start and finish.. it respects the shaping point as finish , shapes your route via the finish to the shaping point grrgh one can waste a lot of time on this ...

Tread app on the phone is an easy way to create my own personal motorcycle routes. I used Explore in the Zumo XT, but tread on the Zumo XT2 is easier. Select your start point, then use shaping points to guide the path. This puts the path perfectly in the road vs using tracks: if your point is off the road the GPS tells you to do a U-turn. All changes sync with the Garmin Zumo XT2 both ways. Export routes to share with others.

Horrible and frustrating, completely annoying routing and a very poor interface. Won't show your position on map when starting the app, anything else is better than this. After searching for a small city, you will be presented with a few results but choosing one of those suggestions will throw you a message saying "no results"! 😳 A couple of times it took me on one way streets in the wrong way. Why it is not named Garmin or Zumo but Tread, hard to understand... Tread! Zumo XT2.

Explore and this are similar, then I have earthmate for my InReach. Worst of all this isn't anything like Ultimate Campgrounds. They just bought the database and tossed the functionality. The beauty of UC was its filters. Unless I just haven't dug deep enough into Tread it appears that ability to filter campgrounds is gone. Garmin is missing the boat on this. Another example of a big company buying a successful small product and destroying it.

Their featured roads are good, but it is missing layers for motorcycle friendly roads (something like Butler Maps). They are slow to update maps, but most of the areas I ride are rural so that's understandable. Syncing between app and device doesn't work for A LOT of people. It will cause your device to restart itself every four minutes. To resolve, you cannot enable storage which means this app can't be used for 90% of its intended purpose. Use the storage (cloud/Explore) at your own risk.
