I can walk 15 minutes to one bus stop or 20 minutes to another. All I want is to see the departures from both and figure out which one to go to. If I ask tripshot for walking directions it assumes I won't walk that far and says it is impossible for me to get to work. If I ask for biking or driving directions it shows faraway bus stops all over the city. There is no way to change this. There isn't space to describe my other experiences with the app, but they are comparable.
Reviews for TripShot
← Back to TripShotBately functional. It doesn't show me all the stops of the bus on my map, only shows my stop and final stop. Doesn't show me times of the other stops in the non map view, only the names of the stops sometimes i am running late and want to see other stops and time it stops there but am unable to do so
I'm unfortunately forced to use Tripshot by my employer. This app has terrible user experience and it is very difficult to basic info, because it is so overengineered with unnecessary features. For example, its home page shows a live map with every single bus stop near me, the next 10 arrivals for all lines and their respective delays. Unfortunately, that info is useless 99% of the time, I just really wanted to know when is the next shuttle for my usual line. It's pretty simple.
Alerts stay forever until you swipe each one away individually and there's like a 10% chance that any given swipe will work. No public transit directions to / from the shuttle stops. In other words, if you're a big decision maker who drives to your job at a little transit agency, this app is for you.
Not user intuitive. Due to RTO I have to use this app. This has terrible counter intuitive UX. For a location they don't link a location to maps. You have to type in the name in Google maps and for some of the names you get multiple location with same name now you have to search for near by land marks on the TripShot then go back and search again on maps (by this time you miss your bus) Viewing boarding pass is another dumb UX. You cannot access your pass from your current reservation window.
What is going on? Ever since this last update on 12/12 my app crashes.i can't even open it. I had to uninstall then reinstall. It worked a couple of times, now it won't completely work again. This does not help if you rely on this ride system. And they just ended the strike recently too!
it works for me, but the correct settings and buttons are hard to find or not intiitive. for example, when clicking on a notification for a bus arriving or being late, I'd naturally want to pull up the map with that bus. it instead brings me to the notifications feed, where I haven't figured put how to get where I want. clicking the item in the feed doesn't go anywhere...
My work has recently started using this app for our commuter buses. As a non-FTE I have to pay for my bus fare. This app makes it hard to pay the fare because it won't properly scan the barcode on the bus. It also doesn't pick up the bluetooth signal from the bus to allow payment. It consistently doesn't work and makes for a stressful situation for the driver and I. I can't understand why our company would require an app to ride a bus. I mean c'mon, commuting is already stressful.
App required by company to ride their bus. The app wouldn't load the payment options. Tried desperately for 20 minutes as I watched the bus arrive to no avail. The only available options on the sidebar at the time was explore, routes, notifications, and settings. Go figure. Of course it works after I no longer need it.
Terrible UX. For example: * No way to view list of "favorite routes" unless you are already viewing a route. Favorites should be accessible from the main menu * Clicking on an arrival notification for a route takes you to your notification history, instead of taking you to live route information. (Why does the app even HAVE notification history? I don't need to know when my bus arrived yesterday. It's totally useless) * No way to specify how far you are willing to walk when searching for routes
Have reset my password multiple times and still have "error logging in" but still received notifications for routes. It's usually a good app to figure out when to leave the house in order to get to the bus for work but even after uninstalling it and reinstalling it I can't login and now I don't receive notifications
Worst app I've ever had to use. Want to book parking? Wake up at 3am. Except sometimes it's midnight so you better check midnight too. And sometimes it's somewhere between 4am and 6am. And sometimes it's the next day at lunch. So I guess just never sleep on Thursday nights if you want to get parking the next week. I wish our parking lots could just be first come first serve like they used to be. This app is literally running my Fridays as I get no sleep Thursday nights trying to book parking.
Really unhappy with this app. We use it for our shuttle service (meta). When the shuttle is on time it's fine. It's quite good to sort out how to get from point a to point b with the regular shuttle timetable. It's terrible where there are delays. The UI is unreadable, the estimates are not refreshed in real time. Canceled shuttles just disappear. Estimated times for delay are unreliable (refreshing the estimate after shuttle departs). I will never use it again if there is a delay.
The app won't track properly when busses are and are not showing up. off by ten min plus at times. FYI bus drivers are great, no reflection on them.
The app is poorly designed. One of the most common activities for a user is to board a ride. Yet, to board a ride, a user needs to find the "Wallet" buried in a hamburger menu, then remember to turn Bluetooth on, and assuming Bluetooth works, finally hit a board button. There are two major issues here. First, there should be a one click button to board directly from the home screen of the app. Second, consider a backup option to board if Bluetooth isn't working.
This does not even deserve a single star!Nothing has ever been able to piss me off on such a level. No matter what the app says this does not give real time updates. Me and my wife have missed the bus on multiple occasions, and if not, it has been delayed 30 go 45 minutes. We have given the ART system more than enough time, this is not user error. What a horrible experience transportation has been. We will not be doing this again. For anyone reading this, it is worth the extra bucks to just LYFT
App works ok but the trip bookings are not that efficient or as reliable as you would expect. This might be due to how my employer's shuttle servicers assign drivers but I noticed the app does not notify you well half the time when a shuttle is delayed. It says 15 min delayed so I am like "okay, let's wait". Then, another 15 min. delay; "fine, hopefully now". Another 15 min. delay; "seriously!". With traffic data, it should be easy to get an approx. ETA. That way I don't need to stand out long.
This was recently required by my company but I can never get the app to work when trying to scan in and get a pass for my bus. This is constantly irritating and makes it difficult and unexceptionly harder than just using my ID card. Definitely don't recommend this app. Its a coin flip as to whether or not it'll work and that slows down the boarding process and irritating for me, the driver, and other people in line to board.
Cool concept, but a long way to go. Boarding experience is buggy at best. The app won't recognize a QR code on my Samsung Galaxy 8+ (camera distorts the image), and bluetooth discovery of our shuttles is spotty. It lets me sign into the wrong bus (one I'm not reserved for) when several are nearby, and there's no way to give up a reservation if I picked the wrong one.
Great concept but poor execution. Most of the times the tripshot is late. Many times you won't get tripshots for extended periods of time. I have been waiting for 40 minutes for rides to be available, I could have just taken a bus in that time frame. The management is also usually unsupportive. The tripshot stops are fine, I won't complain about that. It connects main campus to west campus, it does the job. In general, if you care about being on time, don't take tripshot. Probably just walk.
