I can walk 15 minutes to one bus stop or 20 minutes to another. All I want is to see the departures from both and figure out which one to go to. If I ask tripshot for walking directions it assumes I won't walk that far and says it is impossible for me to get to work. If I ask for biking or driving directions it shows faraway bus stops all over the city. There is no way to change this. There isn't space to describe my other experiences with the app, but they are comparable.
Reviews for TripShot
Bately functional. It doesn't show me all the stops of the bus on my map, only shows my stop and final stop. Doesn't show me times of the other stops in the non map view, only the names of the stops sometimes i am running late and want to see other stops and time it stops there but am unable to do so
I'm unfortunately forced to use Tripshot by my employer. This app has terrible user experience and it is very difficult to basic info, because it is so overengineered with unnecessary features. For example, its home page shows a live map with every single bus stop near me, the next 10 arrivals for all lines and their respective delays. Unfortunately, that info is useless 99% of the time, I just really wanted to know when is the next shuttle for my usual line. It's pretty simple.
Alerts stay forever until you swipe each one away individually and there's like a 10% chance that any given swipe will work. No public transit directions to / from the shuttle stops. In other words, if you're a big decision maker who drives to your job at a little transit agency, this app is for you.
Not user intuitive. Due to RTO I have to use this app. This has terrible counter intuitive UX. For a location they don't link a location to maps. You have to type in the name in Google maps and for some of the names you get multiple location with same name now you have to search for near by land marks on the TripShot then go back and search again on maps (by this time you miss your bus) Viewing boarding pass is another dumb UX. You cannot access your pass from your current reservation window.
What is going on? Ever since this last update on 12/12 my app crashes.i can't even open it. I had to uninstall then reinstall. It worked a couple of times, now it won't completely work again. This does not help if you rely on this ride system. And they just ended the strike recently too!
it works for me, but the correct settings and buttons are hard to find or not intiitive. for example, when clicking on a notification for a bus arriving or being late, I'd naturally want to pull up the map with that bus. it instead brings me to the notifications feed, where I haven't figured put how to get where I want. clicking the item in the feed doesn't go anywhere...
My work has recently started using this app for our commuter buses. As a non-FTE I have to pay for my bus fare. This app makes it hard to pay the fare because it won't properly scan the barcode on the bus. It also doesn't pick up the bluetooth signal from the bus to allow payment. It consistently doesn't work and makes for a stressful situation for the driver and I. I can't understand why our company would require an app to ride a bus. I mean c'mon, commuting is already stressful.
App required by company to ride their bus. The app wouldn't load the payment options. Tried desperately for 20 minutes as I watched the bus arrive to no avail. The only available options on the sidebar at the time was explore, routes, notifications, and settings. Go figure. Of course it works after I no longer need it.
Terrible UX. For example: * No way to view list of "favorite routes" unless you are already viewing a route. Favorites should be accessible from the main menu * Clicking on an arrival notification for a route takes you to your notification history, instead of taking you to live route information. (Why does the app even HAVE notification history? I don't need to know when my bus arrived yesterday. It's totally useless) * No way to specify how far you are willing to walk when searching for routes
