Reviews for Trulia: Homes For Sale & Rent

everything was fine until about 6-8 months ago. then, listing kept repeating every few weeks. listings id saved a couple of weeks ago, last week even. Will be uninstalling if this isn't remedied soon. I contacted trulia, of course no reply. why do companies keep trying to screw over their customers?

needs an update or something. I don't know if it's only an issue with me but it's not saving any update I make in my "liked" homes. I'll remove the heart and it'll still be on my list. I'll like a house and it'll never show up or save. it also doesn't save any of my notes. so when I'm trying to keep track what I like or dislike a house or want to send it to my realtor I easily lose track because nothing is saving. it's annoying.

Forget about any usefulness. You can't create a login it just repeats the error "something went wrong" for months now. Customer service is even more extinct than the dinosaurs. There are apps for finding a house that work. I suggest never putting this amateur hour app on your phone, it's not worth the memory it takes up. Uninstalled with prejudice.

I used to use this app as my only real estate finding tool for years. The last few updates have been horrendous. Now in alerts, they have removed the location and price of the home and the thumbnail photos of the property are so tiny you cant see anything unless you click the listing and wait for it to load. Wastes a ton of time when you have to view every single listing just to find out it's not even a place you'd remotely be interested in.

I gave 2 stars because I do like using the app. It's great to search for rental properties and for homes for sale. The reason I only gave 2 stars is the amount of emails that Trulia was sending. Every time I checked my email, I had to scroll through at least 20 emails from Trulia. When I checked, they were sending over 200 emails to me weekly. That's just absurd. That's nearly 30 emails per day. I get it, a new property matched a search! User beware! Trulia will use all your email storage!

Pretty good app but filters are incorrect. Add filter for garage & half the results disappear. Remove it, see a ton of listings that have garages. Make the people listing the property fill out all fields. Also I would like to exclude a property if I do not like it. I do not want a property with half the appliances missing. I keep seeing the same results. Unless the listing changed, I do not wish to see it anymore. Give an option to hide it unless the listing has updated info. Overall good UI.

Nice app overall. Some issues that I don't like: can't filter out 55+ properties. Reporting issues such as misleading information leads nowhere. Toured a house that was listed as 3 bedroom, was 2 bedroom when we got there, trulia didn't correct it after reporting. Many mobile homes are advertised as single family homes and trulia doesn't fix that. If you're looking for a mobile home, there's no place to mention the space rent, unless it's written in the description, needs to be mandatory.

About to delete. There's a lot about the app I like. However my biggest pet peeve is the relentless useless notifications. I'll get a notification for the same home sometimes 3 times a day (everyday) when nothing has changed. The WORST however is getting notifications for homes in areas I have no interest in. If I'm on the road and I see a 4sale sign I might be curious as to it's price, or to compare demos of another area. I should be able to limit these to areas I'm interested in.

This app is weird. It stays stuck sending notifications on one search and no matter how many times i search somewhere else. The options to customize searches based on a profile are so limited. I have pets and finding rentals that accept pets is hard as it is but Trulia doesnt allow me to out that permanently and so I keep getting notifications of good places that dont accept pets. I wish it stopped but there isnt a way to have it stop either. Uninstall again.

Overall I think the app is great! I love the crime heat map, the fact that you can enter in your commute and the school ratings for the area. What is very frustrating with this app is that VERY often I will save a property but will receive an error message. This happens over and over and over. Also, a lot of times when I try to go into my feed or saved homes it'll show that I have nothing saved- as if EVERYTHING got wiped out. I then have to exit out of the app and wait a bit to try again.

Could be better. It is a huge waste of time but could be fixed pretty easily. The feed shows houses that do not meet the criteria that I searched for. Also there should be an option to cross off properties that I have looked at and decided against. We look at so many, and there hundreds, so it is hard to remember. Plus that way, only ones that could be a match and I have NOT seen will come up. Problem solved.

As much as I like this app it has too many bugs. Houses dont get saved when you press the heart, you should be able to put a custom price instead of the numbers they have. Maybe I want to see a house between 140k - 170k but options avaliable will say 150k - 200k. Many times I click saved homes and it just says " oops something went wrong, werent able to load houses ." This has happened enough times for me to get annoyed enough to leave a review.

Not terrible, but not up to date. It doesnt update info on homes as fast as the other apps. In fact, we found the perfect home om Trulia. However, when we called, it was already pending sale AND had a back up offer. Other real estate apps actually showed this. However, even a day after i called, this house still showed it was 100% available and had no pending offers. Very disappointing. Three stars because its user friendly and other than thay big issue, i enjoyed it.

I've been using Trulia on and off for about 6-7 years (everytime we have to move). The app will not let me see saved Searches. And when I login online, I have no saved Searches. So as a result, I'm getting lots of listings for places that I am no longer interested in or moving to. Whenever I opened saved Searches, it says "Oh no! Something went wrong. Try again later." Very frustrating!

It's a decent app for house hunting. It doesn't seem to have all the features and filters that Zillow has, but it's not far off. The chief complaint I have is that despite having a saved search with specific parameters (i.e. minimum lot size, location, etc.), the "recommended homes" that I receive do not stay within those parameters, often recommending homes on properties much smaller than I have set, and often in locations well outside of the area I specified.

Very useful App. I do recommend a few things though. 1 - Allow more flexibility when setting price range. As of now, it only has increments in $50K dollars, which is a high dollar amount for areas where home values aren't through the roof. 2 - Add the ability to sort by price per square foot. 3 - The save option is great, but having a "Not Interested" or "Dont Show Again" option would also be helpful. I don't want a house to keep popping up in my search query if I'm not interested in it.

My settings won't save. I looked at just one rental property and now rentals are overtaking my feed. The same properties have shown up as "new" in my feed for the past two weeks. I have also went to my settings and unchecked boxes for the rental notifications under all categories and when I click out and back into the settings the boxes are all checked again. Even uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing. I'm fed up.

I used to like this app a lot more. Way too many "rooms for rent" listed under apartments. Same with English basements, but I guess they just need their own category. Also, there are more condos listed under houses for sale than actual houses and, as far as I can tell, nothing is happening to change that. If it's too hard to find what I'm actually looking for there's no point.

The app sucks, because despite me resetting search filters, and not having a specific location saved anymore, it keeps giving me daily recommendations for homes in an area that we are no longer looking for. We literally are looking for homes in an entirely different state, yet it recommends ones in the former city/state that we look at back in spring. I'd rather use some other search method.

as an app, it's probably the easiest to navigate, especially over Zillow. location search aren't as updated as I've seen with other apps & it always takes about a week for photos of properties to finally go up even after property has been posted. However, renters should be very cautious about some of the properties being posted. You can tell greedy slumlords ask ridiculous terms & they allow it, not sure if I would want to use a company that allows these types of people on their platform.
