Used to be good. But since premium they've been pulling features away from those of us who bought pro a long time ago. We originally had no ads, offline play, record and pause live radio, and a larger selection of stations. Now the only thing that makes it "Pro" is removal of banner ads. They took away the reason I bought it, to pause/play/record live radio, removed in favor of premium's recurring payments. Like everything else in this world that wants a monthly fee out of me.

Purchased ad-free version many years ago. Now I notice they are playing additional ads when you first open the app, or sometimes when you change a station. Because if you change the station again and change it back real quick, the ad is no longer there. It's not a station commercial, it's a F'ING AD. This pisses me off! These developers/apps should not be allowed to start taking away what customers already bought and paid for just because they're greedy a-holes.

Update: contacted their support about the Chromecast issue. Although we have exchanged many emails there has been no progress. TuneIn apparently has a non technical and rather inept support front end, that generates a lot of spam, repeatedly asking the same question and exhibiting no technical expertise or evidence that they use the app themselves. There are other apps in the Play Store the work fine with Chromecast. I would recommend shopping around. --- Still works poorly with Chromecast. Recent changes only made it worse. Now the only way to keep a stream up is to turn off WiFi on the phone immediately after starting stream, then killing Tune-in, and then restoring WiFi. Couldn't find any way to report problem.

Update 8/1/20 This is trash! Now when I open a station it forces a commercial. There is no ability to pause then fast forward 30 seconds. In fact, there's no ability to pause live radio, rewind it, nor fast forward at all. I have the paid pro version too. Support asked a bunch of questions to make me look it up only to give a generic answer about agreements and licensing. Nevermind their customers! The record function only works sometimes shutting off on its own. The timer acts the same way

Had a great time using the app even with the paid ads removed. The listening ads are the longest I have heard. Listening commercials are now worse than ever. I don't have 5 to 10 minutes to wait for just one song, and another long wait back to back. My favorite channel was adult hits. Normal ads lengths I have no problem with. I switched services, and won't be back. Bye 👋.

Just kept eroding features and made them subscriptions. More and more ads in the "pro" version. App used to be great, then went through a 90s website with too many flashy signs and you can't find your way around. It's better interface now, small consolation. It also doesn't help that with some updates you lose your preferred stations and settings. Just awful. I miss what you were when I discovered you. You're now only a shadow of what you were.

I have used this app for years. At one time, I could listen for hours and pause and play to my heart's content. Now I rarely get through an hour of live listening before the app reinitializes the stream. Screen on or off, doesn't matter. Turn off battery optimization for the app, doesn't matter. This started out a five star app for me and has lost about a star a year as it gets more unreliable. Looking for an alternative.

It used to be something we used constantly. Now it's only useful on select devices. I literally have two Android devices side by side, one running fine and the other saying "a stream connection error occurred" on the very same station. Whatever update they did in the past month rendered it useless on certain devices. Update 04 March 2021 The representative told me on Feb 10 that the company knows it is not ad free, and there is no ETA on actually delivering what they sell. Caveat emptor.

[Just realized I can't play my recordings when I'm offline. This might be a bug with the latest update. If it can't be fixed, at least give the ability to export recordings.] ***** Browsing stations is easy, and it records my favorite program on a set schedule. I wish it could record more than one schedule, and I don't like the nag screens trying to get me to sign up for a paid service. I'm rating it a 5 anyway because it really works well. I tried many others. This is the best I've seen.

If you're getting this for podcasts, you're better off using iheartradio. This app has a little bit better features and I prefer it. But even after numerous appeals to TuneIn Radio, they can't be bothered to prioritize having podcasts available in a timely fashion. Sometimes podcasts are posted over a day later. I've tried to get them to have a sense of urgency, but they just don't care. I prefer this app. 2/18/25 They stopped updating podcasts AGAIN. What sloppy non-service!
