So here's my take on UltraCal. I've tested a bunch of calculator apps and this one's pretty impressive for the UT crowd. And the range of formulas is comprehensive, and the ability to quickly solve complex equations without having to do it all by hand is a game-changer. It's not the most polished app out there, but it's reliable and gets the job done. If you need a powerful UT calculator, this is definitely one to consider.

Description

I’ve been using UltraCal for a couple months now. It’s basically a super handy calculator app for folks in the UT (ultrasonic testing) field. The built-in formulas cover everything from simple wavelength calculations to complex stuff like Snell’s Law. Pretty solid if you work in UT and need to crunch a lot of equations.

Here’s what you can do with it: there’s a ton of preset formulas you can just plug your numbers into. It’s got wavelength, near field, beam spread, and a bunch more. And the Snell’s Law and angle beam setup calculators are really useful – took me a while to figure those out but they work great.

Look, if you’re a UT inspector or student studying for certs, you’ll probably get a lot of use out of this. It’s not perfect – the interface could be a little more user-friendly – but overall it does the job and helps eliminate human error. Definitely worth checking out if you need a go-to UT calculator.
