Reviews for Upgrade

Predatory lending app. Won't let me pay my monthly payment early, you have to call to change the settings, but can't ever get through. I can't make changes to my personal information in-app, you have to call in for that. I'm on a business trip and you guys have locked my card, and of course, there's nobody on your phones now. I wish I had never used this terrible company.

Suspended my account and could not explain nor find out why the account was suspended. On the phone every 3 days with an agent being told there was nothing that could be done and refusal to escalate the issue or put a real person on it. They forced me to wait for the automated system to email me which never did. Finally get a person to look at the account instead of the automated system 20ish days later and its fixed in hours. Thanks for prolonging my issue and causing me financial hardship.

Super shady, lots of issues with the company. App works fine, but wouldn't recommend dealing with this company. Many times I've suddenly been notified I'm delinquent on my account, despite having just made the automatic payment, sometimes for one cent. This month the payment got pulled from my primary account twice, two days apart, for the exact same amount.

I don't recommend this card! No matter how much you pay, minimum payments will only go up not down. I haven't used this card in months now, yet my minimum payments keep increasing. I usually pay double or more the minimum payment, but it seems the more you pay the more the minimum goes up not down. If you call them, they will just keep transferring you to people who all say the same unhelpful things. I am just going to pay this one off & cut it up.

Dirtbags! I first got the credit account, used the credit, paid the entire thing off the next month. They rewarded me being a good customer by lowering my credit limit by half. Also takes way over 10 days to have your payments applied to your accounts. They hold on to your money as long as they can. If you qualify for any of their bonuses, make sure you hound them the moment you qualify for it, otherwise they won't give it to you and requires hours of calls and emails to get your promised money

Horrible. Tried signing into the mobile app and keep getting a message saying "failed to retrieve master line", whatever that means. Went to the website, tried logging in, same thing. This is absolutely rediculous. I wish I had seen the reviews on here before applying for this card. The app and website suck. Finally had to call customer service just to make a payment. At least the customer service rep I spoke with was extremely friendly. I guess I'll just have to start calling in my payments.

Poor service, the app is tricky, Do NOT Set auto pay for your payments, if you do, you won't be able to make one time payments (as they will all fail processing) and you will only be stuck making the automatic minimum monthly payment. You can't even change the autopayment amount. And if you want to change autopay settings you have to call them, and wait of course... I really wanted to like Upgrade but they are making it very hard to do so...I share so others know . Fix these sharky "glitches"!

Buyer beware! They say they "are here to help" but they play with your credit limit at their discretion. I have had zero late payments and everytime I send them a bigger than normal payment, they not only take weeks to apply it, but charge me interest on that time! I gave them a $1500 payment, after 2 weeks it was applied to my account! Then they "flagged" the payment suspicious activity and reduced my line of credit to what remaining balance was, I had zero credit available after paying $1500!

BEWARE of this Card!!! It's really not a credit card like it says it supposed to. Similar to what everyone else says, it a loan and as soon as you use it, whatever balance you have in it starts accruing interest. Unlike a credit card, you get charged interest at the end of your cycle date. I would not recommend this credit card(loan card) to anyone unless you're really getting for solely a loan.

This app is great as long as you only want to see your activity. If you are hoping to be able to pay off your total balance, forget it! The app does NOT calculate in the interest due. And, not only does it NOT do that, you'll wind up paying three times...the balance you assume is the correct total balance, then the interest which is also not correct, then a penny! Yep, the interest is off by 1 penny. This is a fact related to me by a customer service rep after playing this game for two months.

TLDR-App doesn't work. App is broken, doesn't let you "add a bank account" (I already have one saved so I have no idea why this prompt keeps popping up). If I try and explore the app at all it just throws me that "add a bank account" pop up and then cycles back to the menu. I'm using a Redmagic 8 pro so I seriously doubt it's a hardware issue on my side.

Tried to use the app to make a one time payment. I changed the amount to $100. When I submitted the payment the app changed it to the entire balanced owed. This will cause my bank to charge me for a returned payment. I called upgrade early in the morning before my bank opened and they told me there was nothing they could do, which doesn't seem right. Because of the poor design of the app I will be charged $30. It is also difficult to look at your recent activity if it is a few weeks old.

I have really enjoyed using upgrade, and have had great experiences with customer service. Always a live person when you call. at least in my experience. I'm changing my rating from 5 stars to 3. The reason I'm changing it because after having high credit limit, using it for a couple years never changing I paid it off in a lump some and then immediately within the month, they lowered my credit availbility to 1/4 of what It was and always had been. Inconsistent credit availbility = bad credit

It's amazing! It's a loan (that gives you cashback) credit card! You get a huge amount, gives you different amounts you prefer to withdraw & move to any checking account! It gives you your monthly payment option before conforming to make sure that's what you want! You get the funds the next business day or less. The app is amazing, I got an 8k amount to my SoFi bank to pay off all my credit cards & a other loan. Payments smooth for about 7 months now. Intrest isn't noticeable paid in full.

I have been an Upgrade customer, for only several weeks now. However I am finding their app, a great financial tool in many ways. From current credit, and checking account balances, to credit scores, everything is at your fingertips. The app is easy to navigate, and understand. Appears to be a great company, with excellent customer service, by phone as well. Highly recommended

Don't do it. Card seemed good at first in a pinch to pay off some debt. Once you start making payments, they will lower your credit limit time after time. I have auto pay set up and never missed a payment. I try to make little small purchases while I'm paying it off so I don't get hit for no activity. Furthermore it's not really a credit card. "The limit is not reported to credit bureau".... so they say

My partner and I both had over 27k in credit limit and took on a bit more credit debt this year, which was planned. As soon as our credit score dropped they took away our available credit. All of it. We're back on the up and up but we'll never do business with this shady "credit" card, that's not how thousands of other banks roll. I'll tell everyone I meet through travels to not use the biggest downgrade card, Upgrade. 🚫

Worthless app. It was great until Flexpay changed to Upgrade. Payments of around $300 don't start for 6 months after the cruise date, so I could pay in smaller amounts ahead of time through the Flexpay app. Super easy and convenient. Then Upgrade happened. Their app won't accept any amount except the future $300 payment amount. My options are to send a paper check (?) or call them and pay by phone, typing in the numbers of my debit card. Like it's the 90s. Upgrade needs to.. upgrade. Irony.

I have been a long time upgrade customer. Today I received an email stating that my credit limit had been reduced to $1,000 from$5,000, despite my credit score being 80 points higher than when I started my account with upgrade many years ago. I've received several credit line increases in the last month from other institutions. When I spoke to a representative the reason for this was because I used one of my other credit cards (not upgrade). My total credit usage is below 15%. The lady I talked

I love everything about this App/Financial Tool. it really out shines any brick and mortar bank. I generally get my check 5 days earlier, sometimes 6 days earlier. With the walk- in bank I had, I was doing good just to get it on time. When when I got it, if it posted after 2, I'd have to wait an additional day. Not to mention all the fees that they were always talking on to my account. Not so With Upgrade, no hidden fees, free ATM. They even rebate you on out of network ATM's.
