So here's my take on USAA DriveSafe. I've tested a bunch of these driver tracking apps and this one's actually pretty solid. The automatic trip logging and insights are super handy, and I like how it can help you get insurance discounts just for driving safely. And it's not the most advanced app out there, but it gets the basics right. The crash detection is a nice bonus too. The only real downsides are the occasional bugs and the discounts being on the smaller side. But if you're a USAA member, I'd say it's definitely worth using.

The program often stops running with no notification, particularly if your phone cleared memory caches. It has never worked on my wife's iPhone. Both issues cause us to be penalized...

At the end of each drive it'll say, "you used your phone x percent of this trip, consider ways to reduce your phone usage" but it gives you zero credit...

It's works, but it wrongfully accounts for phone use at either the start when parked and you haven't moved. It just automatically starts a trip once connected to your vehicle....
