Reviews for USB Audio Player PRO

UAPP blew me away! 🎧 I was a PowerAmp fan for over 10 years, but once I tried UAPP with an external DAC, the sound quality was on a whole different level. It’s simply the best music player I’ve ever used. The interface isn’t perfect, but the amazing audio makes up for it 100%. Highly recommended!

I have been using this app for a number of years and the sound quality is among the best for Android music players. But recently, it frequently pauses after playing or skipping to the next song for a few seconds. This issue only happens when I play music files that are locally stored on the phone. There's no issue when playing from streaming services. I'm using a Samsung S24 Ultra that had just been updated to One UI 8.0. Can the developers check for this issue?

This player has great results with my Zorloo Ztella DAC, which it recognizes immediately. I'm able to point it to a single place on my tablet to where my music files are kept. Successfully copied playlist info from my other player. Really I only have two complaints, and they are cosmetic. 1. On high quality file it shows a soundscape jpg instead of the included artwork. 2 Music tracks in playlists are listed as file names not Track name - Artist, and no mini artwork That aside, this program is well worth the investment. Would love to become a Beta Tester

Recent updates have made the search function unbearably slow. It now takes nearly a full minute to search my library; it used to be almost instantaneous. Apps like EZ Folder Player Free can somehow search the exact same library in real time as I type a search query. Can the search or indexing algorithm, or whatever is causing this slowdown (across multiple devices) please be improved? 5 stars if so!

It works great. However, there is one issue which I am unable to find a solution. I have a Galaxy S22 Ultra and a KIA Soul. The artist cover does not always display on the KIA display screen. It may initially function okay, but if I switch audio modes on the KIA display screen, such as changing to the regular Radio or SiriusXM, and go back to UAPP, the artist album picture is replaced by a generic square. Or if I receive a call and then hang up, the same thing happens.

With the last few updates quality has gone down massively. Used to have a hiccup here and there when playback would stop randomly, but it was sporadic enough that it wasn't an issue. It's gotten to the point where it stops every time I try to play music, when switching from wifi to cellular, when switching from bluetooth to speakers, and it always requires several reboots of the app before I get it to play again. Battery use is unrestricted and all "stop playback when..." settings are OFF

This does magical things. I was very skeptical about paying for a music player at first, but it's so good I ended up buying the parametric EQ and morphit, too! - Morphit "fixed" my portapros using generic hifi curve. - Per-channel parametric EQ is PERFECT for my slightly deaf left ear - Hardware volume control works outside the app!! The only thing I could ask for is to add a sorting feature for albums and artists by song count as I have too many albums/artists with 1-3 songs that add clutter

Love the app. Works great with my dac. After last update it keeps freezi g. The music keeps playing but the UI freezes. I need to force stop the app and reopen. Sometimes i need to clear the cache, force close and reopen. Sometimes it opens frozen and i need to restart my phone. Before the last updated i would have given it a 5 star rating. I have the paid version and i am using a Note 20 Ultra 5G.

This app is amazing for what I use it for. The only thing I would recommend for the developers, are to add a stop button. I connect to an external DAC, that usually turns itself off after playback is stopped. Sometimes this fails to happen when using this app. Leaving the DAC showing an incoming connection, even with my phone unplugged. This leaves me having to unplug my DAC to reset it. Adding a stop button that would completley disconnect the connection would be a major upgrade. Love you guys though. Only app that allows for true DAC control through Android. Also the only app on mobile platforms that can access Tidals masterd files. Giving you access to 24bit high rise files that can be used for MQA with the right hardware connection. I hear it's not possible and tidal only allows it for desktop platforms. This app solves that issue and is a godsend for audio files.

I am using Samsung Note 9 using UAPP to listen to tidal and my library. But when I enable usb to be controlled by UAPP, I cannot hear sound from YouTube or other apps. I have to unplug and disallow UAPP to take control. Very annoying. I tried tweaking around all settings but still can't fix. When I unchecked the box to play through android when no USB dac, the sound will play thru the phone speaker. But if the box is checked, then no sound, and sometimes the video will stutter. Thanks for prompt response. Upped to 4 stars. hope this can be improved to give a better experience in the future.

Even after help from them, which I gave a star back for, the album art doesn't always display even if the pic is in the right folder. Sometimes it just doesn't show up. It won't be there on a shuffled song but if I go and pick the song manually it shows up. This app is still superior for sound if that's what you're looking for. But, for functionality and looks Poweramp is better. If the UI had more options to change color, font, etc and they make the AA part better this would be 5 stars all day.

I'm mostly happy with the app. Only problem is you can't have single or double quotes in song titles. It causes the artist's name to be be repeated x number of times, x being the number of tracks an open quote is from a given song. This problem persists even when the quotes are closed. This only a general observation. I'm just reviewing in hopes the devs fix what is probably an easy bug. Will rate 5 stars once fixed. 8/2022 edit Still see artist's names multiple times. Plz fix.

An incredibly well crafted application. Good library management and excellent quality output and resampling. I like that they have all of the proper warning in the app that tell you how to get the best experience. It was also DELIGHTED that they have a beta version for Android TV available to paying customers that isn't perfect for everyone, but was absolutely perfect for what I needed. If you have headphones or other audio devices with a good quality USB DAC, you will definitely appreciate it.

I was underwhelmed by the audio quality on my new OnePlus 6, and ended up buying a Fiio Q1 mk II dac and this app (which is the only way my particular phone will use the Fiio dac) the sound is amazing, with more clarity and a broader soundstage than I've ever heard from phone audio. Google play music integration and the ability to play the various radio stations I stream allow it to work for nearly anything I listen to. YouTube audio playback would be a killer addition. keep it up!

Not only is this one of the best, if not the best, music apps on Android. The support is awesome! I found a bug after the latest update that caused the app to crash when trying to load Shoutcast radio. I emailed the developers to tell them about the bug. And probably not even 12 hours later, I received an email saying that it should be fixed and the new version was in the play store. I updated to the new version and I can confirm that it is indeed fixed for me. Super impressive all around!!!

I have no idea why this app has a low rating. The player is almost as smooth as the apps from which it pulls music. The audio quality is noticeably better than Qobuz alone and I was already impressed with Qobuz's audio quality. You have to have good equipment to hear the differences, however. I don't notice it on my headphones, but I very much notice it on my car's system. Well worth the money.

Player works fine with my Audioquest Dragonly. Sometimes though when I add new music it doesn't appear in my library and I have to clear the database and re-add everything. This isn't terrible but is a minor annoyance. The navigation is a bit clunky as it has a tendency to jump in my library when I browse. But overall the app works very well and I know I am getting the best possible sound out of my phone with my audio equipment.

Update: Customer Service assisted me in correcting the problem. Stations take longer than usual to load, but most are playing as they should. There are some stations that do not load at all. I will check over the next few days, and if they still don't load and play, I will again contact customer service for assistance. Radio stations skip and/or loop portions of songs over and over again. Just sent a message and now awaiting a response from customer service.

eXtreme Software Development ( Davy ) proved to be extremely knowledgeable. The tech support was first class they seemed to want it more than I did and that is a rare. I purchased it for gaming but it's really ment for high-end audio. I have a 8 year old turtle beach head set and when I heard the mastered content it blew me away. That sound was coming out of a phone and old headphones. Truly floored.

Thank goodness! This app solved my sample rate issue. I could never figure out why the sample rate was stuck at 48khz when files I was playing were different. I thought it was my USB cable or, worse, my DAC. Then I Googled about sample rates and Android and it turns out Android upsamples and you can't turn it off. I really like this interface. I can access Qobuz and my DLNA all in one. Super grateful, as someone who is an audiophile and has an Android!
