Description
Been using VAG DPF for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that gives you the most important info about your car’s diesel particulate filter (DPF) and its regeneration phases. You use it with an ELM327 adapter to connect your phone to your VAG car’s computer.
Here’s what you do: you can check the DPF status, see if it needs regeneration, and even force a manual regen if needed. And there’s also some cool diagnostic stuff – it’ll show you any error codes and help you clear them. And the app will track your DPF regeneration history, which is pretty handy.
Look, if you’ve got a VAG car with a DPF, you’ll probably find this app really useful. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want to keep an eye on your DPF.
Editor Opinion
So here's my take on VAG DPF. I've tested a bunch of car diagnostic apps and this one's pretty solid. The core features work well and it's easy to use once you get the hang of it. And definitely a must-have if you own a VAG car with a DPF. Not gonna lie though, the UI is a bit dated and it can be tricky to figure out at first. But overall, it's a reliable app that does what it says it will.

Works good for a 2011 Seat with CAYC engine. The one issue that I have is that I need to refresh it manually. Even on first connect it doesn't read...
Good app. Does not seem to work on the newer Android 9 phones. Not mine anyway. Is this going to be sorted in the near future? I have the paid...
Can you make a 'loud' alarm when regeneration begins as the current one I never hear ! Also maybe a toggle for a bleep to indicate regeneration is in progress....
