i figured it would be a lot simpler to see accurate bus times. not that it's hard to figure it out or use the app, it just takes a minute to get to that info. also I've had several cases where it said a bus was on time, and it never came yet they advertise having the bus locations in real time.. still more convenient than using Google maps and more accurate than texting their NextRide phone number.. I blame it on the buses and not the capabilities of the app.

While the convenience is nice and faster, the scanning process is horrible. We've had scanners for decades and this is barely functional at best. Why have it pointed out and place the QR code at the top of the phone? Trying to find the right angle to hold the phone to get it to scan is a huge hassle and the placement suggests it would be better to turn my phone upside down in my hand to her the code closer to the scanner

Great app. I only have 2 requests: 1. Allow saving routes, stops, Home, and Work information while logged in, so that it doesn't have to be added every time.. 2. Every once in a while, the saved routes get deleted and no routes can be viewed. Only workaround seems to be clearing all app data and restarting the app. Would be nice if this can addressed. Keep up the good work guys!

This app tried to fix things that weren't broken. It didn't get an update for the change of stops due to construction downtown. It doesn't work if you are out of range of a tower, otherwise it uses too much mobile data, takes over the phone and prevents other apps working fully. They should not force the use of paperless/cashless fares until wifi is provided as in LV. The QR codes often don't scan, or even disappear, requiring a refresh. Manual pay-as-u-go at $2 a shot works (& better)

When they introduced Smart Fare, a feature that allows the user to purchase only as much fare as is necessary at the moment (e.g. initially you will be charged for only a one-way ride, but if you board the bus again later that day it will only cost the extra two dollars for an all-day pass), the overall experience for me has been dreadful. Most of the time the QR code does not scan, and I am left embarrassed as I hold up the bus trying to troubleshoot the problem.

Rarely accurate. The app was sometimes helpful, but didn't tell me when the bus was early. Had the wrong times listed for buses. I had to go out and into a different screen to see if the bus was delayed. It couldn't figure out if I had gotten on that bus or not. We had to either wait around for an hour or walk 4miles because times were wrong. The button to align my map north is under the back button, so I couldn't ever make my map always facing north to the top. Frustrating.

I like that we can now use this for our bus passes. Maps and bus routes appear to be accurate since ive been using it. The only thing I would like it to be able to have the bi weekly, monthly and reduced passes. As for my kids I don't want to be paying for a full pass when they're reduced. Especially if we don't have time to be getting them a pass of the machines. Overall it's good just those other bus options would be nice.

It's good, but c'mon, you should be able to purchase 7-day, 15-day, and 31-day passes through the app! The physical passes have extremely limited availability -- at *some* stores and only at rail stops -- which seems inane to me. Does it make sense that you have to have both this app (for single ride/day passes) and a physical pass for longer periods?

This app isn't user friendly. Difficult for navigating and planning bus trips. Trying to look up the bus schedule on this app is nearly impossible and extremely frustrating. I have to plan to leave an hour earlier to get where I want to go. The connections are horrible! If I'm at the stop on time or a few minutes early, there is no reference for the current bus only for the next bus. There's no information on subsequent buses as to the pickup time until you get there only to find out the next

"Unable to load stops", "no response from network", "we encountered a problem please try again later". Today, everything else on my phone seems to work well except for this app. I signed out, I uninstalled and reinstalled, the live busses and stop icons on the map aren't even loading. I will be going back to planning on Google maps. At least the new wallet feature seems to be working well.

Be careful, sometimes the app will lie to you and tell you that a purchase failed even though it still charged your card. So you won't have a pass showing on the app, even though they charged you for it. If you purchase it again after it says the purchase failed, you will get charged multiple times and you will not get a refund (customer service is terrible and very rude). They will do whatever they can to steal your money.

"We saved your passes for you" then why can't I access them? And why can't I buy any more? It's insisting I use this "smart fare" but then keeps claiming technical error when I try to add funds to it. Not very smart, I guess! Thanks for making me walk 35 minutes to my destination and then 35 minutes back in the July heat because I couldn't purchase a bus pass! Customer service claimed the app was malfunctioning and if I showed the driver that I had the app, I would be let on the bus, but no so.

I don't think it is a good app Even though you can buy passes it's only for full fare, those of us who need reduced still have to buy physical which sends a message that we are to poor, old, disabled, in other need to have a payment card let alone a bank account to buy passes from the app. Update: the ability to change your fare type should be in the app itself, also why provide the link of your need the number to change the fare type.

The app is as reliable as the busses are about showing up on time and/or at all . If only the rest of us could treat our work hours as more as of a suggestion than a schedule, life would be pretty great! As a taxpayer, I get to pay twice, neat. I wouldn't suggest purchasing multiple day passes at the same time, as if their app activates them both on the same day, you're paying double because there is absolutely no customer service.

I needed to purchase 2 all-day passes for same-day use. I went through the whole process and pressed the button to complete the transaction and all I was presented with was an error. I tried the transaction again, same error. No passes were added to my account. I had to purchase the passes with cash at the station. Days later the passes finally showed up and my card had been charged twice. Even better, Valley Metro refuses to refund passes even when errors cause duplicate transactions.

The new Smart Fare update is strange. No longer can you purchase a pass, instead you're dependent on adding funds from a card or cash at a local store, and the QR code is significantly smaller than what the machine used to scan, which had a full screen mode that was easier for the scanner to pick up. Sure you might not be charged more than what you ought to pay but why was the option to buy a pass removed? This seems pretty backwards to me.

this app is essentially useless. I placed money in the account to avoid the crowd after a Diamondbacks game. I figured I would be able to purchase 3 tickets I needed (2 standard and 1 senior) and activate them within the app as I have done in many other states. they don't make it easy to buy multiple tickets, especially if they are different fare types, and then you still need to go to a kiosk. now they refuse to refund the money in my account because there was no "technical error" with the app.

there seems to always be some kind of issues with the bus scanner not being able to read the qr code, the app constantly says that your bus will be at the stop at said time, but it never even arrives and when you go to call the number for metro, their systems at the office aren't even synced up with the app so nothing is actually accurate. the only aspect that is reliable about valley metro is that it is regularly unreliable.

to find an address or route number this app needs a certain, exact wording. you can't just type in an address because if the spelling isn't perfect or the wording and numbers aren't in an exact order or placement the app will tell you "no results found" this app is pretty much useless and needs to be updated. you're better off just calling the customer service representatives and they will take the time to plan your trip for you. still, I say again... this app is very nearly useless.

The website is super easy to navigate and the layout is clear & consise 5-stars ❤️ 4-star overall rating because of payment methods. The Copper Card and the tap the VM preloaded app on the phone is convenient BUT, I need the option to pay cash or debit card on the fly. My phone only works when connected to WiFi and even then it's not guaranteed; it crashes constantly (not your problem) I need at least 3 options for success in everything I do because of my limitations.
