Description
Been using VESC Tool for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you set up and control VESC-based hardware like electric skateboards or ebikes. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of stuff.
Here’s what you can do: you can connect to your VESC over Bluetooth or WiFi, update the firmware, tweak all the settings, and even log data. And there’s also a live data stream feature which is pretty cool. And you can use it to build your own custom modules – took me a while to figure that out but it’s a useful option.
Look, if you’ve got a VESC-powered ride, you’ll probably get a lot of use out of this app. It’s not perfect – the UI could be a bit more intuitive – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you’re into that scene.
Editor Opinion
So here's my take on VESC Tool. I've tested a bunch of tools and apps for DIY electric vehicles, and this one's definitely one of the better ones. It's got a ton of features and customization options, which is great if you're the tinkering type. The live data is super helpful for troubleshooting too. The only downside is the learning curve - took me a bit to figure everything out. But once you get the hang of it, it's a pretty powerful tool. If you're into VESC-based builds, I'd say this is worth having in your toolkit.
