So here's my honest take on Virtual Desktop. I've tested a bunch of remote desktop and PC streaming apps, and this one's pretty solid overall. The low latency and high quality streaming is really impressive, and I like all the extra features like video playback and Bluetooth peripheral support. But it does have a few downsides - the setup is a bit more complicated than some alternatives, and you're kind of limited by your home network speeds. Still, if you want a reliable way to use your phone or VR headset as a wireless PC display, Virtual Desktop is one of the better options I've tried.

Description

I’ve been using Virtual Desktop for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you connect to your computer wirelessly to watch movies, browse the web, even play PC games on a giant virtual screen. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you do – you set it up on your PC and then use the app on your phone or VR headset to basically take control of your computer. There’s also a videos tab where you can download or stream regular, 180 or 360 degree videos directly from your PC. And you can even use Bluetooth mice, keyboards and gamepads with it. Took me a while to figure out all the features but it works pretty well overall.

Look, if you’re into remote desktop or PC gaming, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the setup can be a bit finicky and the PC needs to be wired to your router – but it gets the job done. Worth checking out if you want to use your phone/VR as a wireless PC display.
