So here's my take on Visorando - Walking routes. I've tried a bunch of outdoor/hiking apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The route database is super extensive, with tons of options no matter where you are or what kind of walk you're looking for. The mapping and navigation tools work well, even when you're off the grid. But I will say the app can be a bit buggy sometimes and the interface takes some getting used to. Doesn't quite have the polish of some other hiking apps I've used. Still, for the price (free!) it's a great tool to have in your outdoor adventure arsenal.

Pros

  • Massive database of walking/hiking routes all over the UK and abroad
  • Routes come with maps, directions, elevation profiles, and more
  • Can download routes for offline use - super handy when you're out in nature
  • Lots of search/filter options to find routes that fit your needs
  • Free to use, no paywalls or limits on routes

Cons

  • User interface can be a bit clunky and confusing at first
  • App has crashed or glitched on me a few times
  • Upgrading to premium version is kind of expensive
  • Not as slick or polished as some other hiking/outdoor apps

Description

I’ve been using Visorando – Walking routes for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that helps you find curated hiking and walking routes, even when you’re offline. Pretty solid if you’re into the outdoors and exploring new places.

Here’s what you can do with it: there’s a huge database of routes all over the UK and even abroad. You can search by location, activity, duration, difficulty level, and more. And it’s got maps, elevation profiles, step-by-step directions, and even lets you download the routes for offline use. Took me a while to figure out all the features, but they’re pretty useful once you get the hang of it.

Look, if you’re into hiking, cycling, or just getting outdoors, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job of helping you find and plan great walking routes. Worth checking out if you want to explore more of the countryside or your local area.
