Reviews for VIZ Manga

Was able to read Dragon Ball Super at no extra charge, as well as was getting current issues of Dragon Ball Super, and now I can't read anything I've already read with out passing extra, and can't read the current issues at all. If it doesn't change back by the time the next issue of Dragon Ball Super is released, I will cancel my subscription. It's the ONLY reason I pay for this app. Edit: I've noticed that the only time Viz Manga replies to a customer rating, is if the customer gave them 4 ⭐️

The subscription is a bargain if you can find just one or two series that click- $2 a month for as much binge-reading as you want, and no ads. The scans are high-quality and easy to read through on a screen. Browsing for manga is a bit of a hassle, though- you can only search alphabetically and the front page is rather limited in its suggestions. You kinda have to use other sites like Mangadex to find series, then go back and read in the app to support the authors.

The customer service team is really bad. As soon as the trial membership ended, and my credit card was billed, the app stopped working and I couldn't get in contact with anyone for support or troubleshooting. Emails were met with no response. I spent almost an entire night trying to get it to work. Once again, it worked fine until the moment they received money. Really frustrating and disappointing.

Such a large selection of manga to read, mostly the popular ones but there's a good selection of hidden gems as well! all for an incredibly low monthly price, best manga app I've ever used. Only 1 tinie tiny hitch and it's that when you finish a chapter it takes you out of reading and makes you choose the next one, I would have liked for it to just keep going on to the next chapter instead of kicking me out of it to choose the next one, but other than that its a 10/10.

I want to give it 4 stars because it doesn't have a few Mangas I want as readable chapters in their subscription, but that's not fair. The subscription is still great. $1.99 per month is nothing and because of it I've found so many old Mangas and keep up with new ones. But Hunter x Hunter chapters would be nice. And put case closed on there too. It's trash but I'm hooked.

Great app with a large selection. It is unfortunate that they raised the price from $2 a month to $3 for the subscription. You only need a subscription if you want to read old manga though, like if it is completed the first three you can read for free, but it it is ongoing then it is the three most recent chapters that are free. Overall a great app for people wanting to read manga.

Last year this app was very convenient and worth the subscription even with the 100 chapter daily limit. Now if you pay for subscription you don't get access to anything you want to read. There's no point of paying for the subscription or using the app at all since you can't read any chapters of the series you were originally following. Terrible UI/UX for such a big company.

Almost the same as the Shonen Jump app, save for the focus on buying volumes instead of subscribing for chapters. You can still do the latter here with your Jump Membership, though. Has a slightly larger selection but the additional ones it has force you to buy the digital volumes instead. Decently designed, yet redundant either way. Don't bother unless you buy the digital editions instead (which I wouldn't recommend, at least not on here).

For 1.99, ita great having access to all of viz Manga, even if it's only 100 chapters a day, or the fact that there's no favorite list, or anyway to make any kind of list period, or how what you're reading doesn't carry over through devices if you sign in somewhere else, or how if you want to save a Manga to read later you have to select, scroll through a few pages, then back out so it can be in your continue reading section 🙃 don't have to say this now but, yea, could use some basic features.

Decent reading experience, but this interface has a really annoying problem. Even when you've downloaded a manga for OFFLINE reading, the app will take forever to load the next page of you have a bad internet connection. There is no good reason for this. I shouldn't have to put my phone in airplane mode to read something I've already downloaded. Let me stay in dark mode.

I like my options for reading but it's features are very limited. You can't favorite series, you can't just start off where you left off, you can't sort in any fashion, and unless you manually download each chapter, red it then delete it, it does keep track of what you already read. I want to support viz with my subscription for longer but the quality of life of this is horrible.

Love the membership option. Plus the ease of use. Only downside of this application is the lack of categories in search. Unless you know exactly what you're looking for, it doesn't let you search by genre. I'll love to read new works based on my interest but there's no option to filter or search titles by genre or categories. Which forces me to look through recommended or popular titles.

I'll be a lot more likely to continue my subscription if you guys add a library or subscription feature for specific chapter feeds. There's no reason to continue a subscription that's limited to chapters of specific manga if it only exists to get people to buy volumes; you already have volume previews for that. Other than that, I love the app. Only other issue is that there are certain titles I see in reccomendations that I haven't been able to find through the search bar (e.g. One Punch Man).

Severely lacking in features. No bookmarking, "continue reading" does not persist between devices meaning all progress is lost on a new phone, no way to remove anything from your "continue reading" if you don't like it, search is only A-Z (no sorting by genre, artist, included in subscription, etc). Price is good but I'd easily pay a few bucks more for a proper app with these features.

A ton of great series for a very reasonable monthly fee. None of that goofy purchasing coins stuff that some apps try. One monthly fee and you get access to every title they have. Simple and straightforward this is how they should all be. This allows readers to take a chance and give a random new title a shot that may become a favorite. That doesn't happen nearly as much if you have to pay for each title individually.

app is a great step in the right direction low cost subscription, and lots of series to read. however search feature is missing, autjor's name is missing, and even with subscription volumes are still priced high, difficult to tell what's for free and what you have to pay for, the menu is clustered, can't favorite, no notifications. the app needs more work.

Everything non Shonen I was interested in reading you have to buy. The prices are "fair" because some of the physical copies can be more difficult to find, however I've seen a lot of the digital offered that are just as much. Imo it's worth it to just be patient and collect the physicals. Amazon usually has good prices, book stores still exist, and I've found tons of local listings so I can't justify the price. Makes me wanna stick to online scans. Shonen jump app is better. I'll pay that app

Not as much of a digital selection as I'd like, even if they do in fact publish the mange, and the UI could use some work, but I appreciate the price point, especially as I get more manga that I'm waiting for weekly releases on instead of bringing. (Previously left a negative review to get a response from the app not working. Glad they replied to that review quickly.)

Amazingly affordable way to support and legally read a majority of the manga you will be looking for. I've used this for a few years now, but it feels criminal for it to have taken me so long to find. I have friends that read more manga than I do and I had to tell them about this. The one thing they really could do better is advertise. Reading progress saves locally to the device. Great for sharing with family, but not for jumping from device to device. 100 chapter per day across all devices.

Great value and functional app, but most if not all volumes of manga are locked for purchase only, even if you have a subscription. This means that if a series is a volume-only release on the app, you have to pay by volume to read it. The overall price of the subscription (~$2/mo) is great for new release chapters though. Many manga series that are considered 18+ for violence or other adult themes are not available on the app; only on their website.
