The app is fine. It tries to control your devices and I'm starting to find that the network performance of your particular device can affect ability to control it from this app. Sometimes though, a factory reset of the device is all you can do to regain control of it. So the app is somewhat limited; but once control is present, access to all the device's settings, navigation, and power and volume controls are shown in a clean presentation. Check for updates to the device just in case.

This app is so poorly made it makes me think the developers probably only put a few days work into it. Maybe if they took the weekend and doubled their efforts we might have a real app. My devices will NOT pair with this app. I've tried multiple phones. Ive tried factory resetting my sound bar multiple times. I've tried manually setting the wireless connection. I've tried connecting via bluetooth. And when, after an hour of trying, it finally connects, it disconnects the moment I turn the TV off
It's awful. It only connects to my TV after restarting my phone. It stops working as soon as I use ANY other app on my phone. That's very handy, Vizio. None of the other apps in the Play Store will even locate my TV. The remote that comes with the TV is basically a paperweight with the power of turning the TV on/off. ***The response to my review was quite rude. Suggesting that I'm too stupid to know how to use the app/equipment rather than address the actual problem is just a hot garbage take.
It disconnects from the device a lot and the connection to the tv has had to be redone almost 2 times a week. Also casting to the device is quirky too. It is near impossible to pair with this app! I changed my review to one star! Once I finally get it to pair, after a few weeks it starts say it isn't paired. Then trying to repair it takes 1000's of tries and almost an hour. No wonder I got such a good "deal" on this TV. Turned out to be quite the crappy deal.
This is an really good app so far, but there's lack of features. For example, lack of profile pictures. I want to change my profile picture because the gray icon on my profile just somewhat really bothers me. Second of all, is that there's lack of accessibility features for captions. As someone who is unsure that they have dyslexia, it would've been better if we could change the captions font just to see it better. All though, good app so far.
App works great and use it all the time, but recently, I have had issues searching for specific movies and tells me no results. I used to be able to search any title, and it would tell me if it was available for rent or free using specific apps. It appears certain titles no longer appear in search. For example, the Wrong Missy movie is available on Netflix, but searching brings the error of no results.
This app is the most frustrating app I've ever used. I downloaded it because my remote keeps walking off, and I thought this would be a good solution until I find where the remote is hidden. However, it only works approximately 60% of the time, and when it DOES work, it's frequently very slow and awkward. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't seem to fix the problem, and today it just stopped working while I was actually in the process of using it. Just going to buy a new remote at this point.
Just bought a p-series soundbar and the app is terrible. It always reloads when entering the app. Even if I have the app open and switch, for a second to another and come back, it has to find the device again and that's a 50/50 chance of happening. I can't find my brand new sound bar to add to a chromecast group. Edit: I've returned the 5.1.4. Elevate to Best Buy because of the issues. I'm not spending time on support to hook something up that should be plug and play.
Here we go again. Can we just get a consistent remote function without the added BS. In the effort to "make things bigger and better," connection is lost again. Or even better, can we just get a standard remote that can be purchased since we were shafted with the basic remote that came with our "smart" tvs, so we don't have to use software that is hit or miss with each update.
Dependable. Since the app and the TV communicate through WiFi, I can control the TV when the phone is laying on a table in the kitchen -- the traditional infrared remote control can't do that. The app's menus are more flexible than using the Vizio remote control, too. But, the app doesn't see my TV if the phone is connected through a VPN. And, the ads in the app are Too Prominent, 'specially since I never care to watch the Hip-Culture, Made-For-TV-Dramas they're always pushing.
