This app is useful & has helped me get through many books. The only issue I have is the pronunciation corrections don't always work. E.g., "punishment" is pronounced by the app as "poo-nish-eh-ment", it won't stop saying "Street" instead of "Saint", stuff like that. Nothing I tried fixes it, even though corrections I made work in the editor. It's very frustrating when it happens repeatedly. Overall, it's a helpful app, but I wish it would use all of my edited pronunciations, not just some.

Considering all the other ones in the market are pretty crappy, this app is fair game. It sounds monotonous at first but if you play and tune the pitches, speed, pauses, voice, etc. You'll eventually find the right wavelength that doesnt make you cringe. Pdf with pictures doesnt usually work, youd have to somehow convert it into text first. Hope this helps

I updated and it killed my library and kept crashing. My mistake was not backing up before uninstalled. I thought it would ask if I wanted to clear all files or keep my library. I had to get a downgraded apk. It also changed all the libraries progress to index. Also no longer updates progress of chapters not sure how to fix the progress tracking. Also can't verify cloudflare anymore. I had been waiting and hoping to edit my previous review! You have redeemed your self! Love the additions!!!

Been using this app for years. It reads ebooks, articles, PDFs, webpages, it amazing. Usually automatically. Sometimes you have to tell it what you want to be included in the text that's being read to you, like pictures, etcetera. And that's a great option to have in a reader app. You can customize it to your liking. It's a huge time saver. Definitely worth getting.

After you learn the controls, this app is great for turning downloaded books into audio books. I only get ads when I'm reading from the app, never any when I'm just listening with my headphones with the screen off. I recently had a problem with ads popping up and increasing the volume. It usually happens when I'm reading with app, I turn the volume all the way down and then an ad pops up playing audio. I don't know how to fix that.

This app has been fantastic for helping me proofread. Listening to what I write as I read it helps me find problems better. Oddly, the last few days it has started freezing up after reading an article. I end up having to uninstall and reinstall to get it to read again, and then I have to reset all my settings. Even with that inconvenience, it's still awesome.

I have used it for years but I use a separate app and paid for a couple voices. For what ever reason the basic voice not the pro works better when you do that. You can change pronunciation and even though I'm American, I use a British accent to combat that digital sound and funny enough it changes words on its own to the British version. Like boot for trunk and things. Kinda cool. I use the eReader app for .epub and .mobi file types, every day, all day.

This app has a confusing user interface, but I used it happily for years because it worked with all sorts of text sources and had solid voices in many languages. I don't know what changed, but now it constantly stalls, freezes, shuts down, and takes forever to load pages and reading lists. Cache clearing and reinstallation didn't fix the problems. I have uninstalled it and am looking for an alternative.

The only redeeming factor about this app is that it's free. The read-aloud function will play at a hair trigger, even when you are just tabbing through chapters. It's hard to search a document because the app locks you to the text that the app is currently reading. Also, the app will lose your place when you close the app, so you can expect to do a lot of searching.

love the app, it's very useful. can you add a feature where I can have the control panel (pause, skip line, rewind) overlay while I use other apps? the drop down menu is nice but I'd like the option for quicker access. it's like how YouTube has PiP(picture-in-picture) so you can watch videos while doing other things on your phone

While the app itself may not be the direct cause, as a user that has enjoyed this app for years and paid for a premium license, it would have been nice to have more support from the developer, but upon further research, Samsung's Text to speech voices starting with one UI 7 have been disallowed as policy to be accessed by third-party apps, only Samsung apps. it would be nice if the developer could reach out to Samsung themselves to let them know of the outrage instead of leaving it to the user.

This was a Fantastic Audio Reader. However, I am downgrading my initial 5 star rating after 6 years of use. Here's why. After a while, the advertising became very distractful. I upgraded to the paid version, which now unfortunately only works on the older phone that I had at the time of upgrade. When I added this app to my latest phone, it did not recognize my account. I now get nearly two minutes' worth of "gaming advertisement.

A mostly pleasent experience I've used for years. A new story usually requires some training to get the names and multiple pronunciation words (bow and arrow vs bow to the king) corrected. Thus is usually easy with some practice, but some words it just refuses to cooperate, and some it sounds right in the editor but then it throws that out the window when its back to reading. With advances in AI I do hope there is an update to allow for contextual pronunciation. For now a great offline reader.

I've lowered my rating because the ads are becoming unmanageable. There's fake x's that appear and when you tap them it forces other apps to open. There's a button that forces you to visit play store to get out of the ad. There needs to be clear ways to close out of the ads without it being a scam to make you press things you don't want to press!! It's scamming data by making people unwittingly visit sites that they had no intention of visiting!! I'm so sick of seeing shein!!

I love to write, so I will paste my stories here to have them read back to me to see if they are flowing well. I have only had small issues with the voice and the voice I picked. but that's small, and after fiddling with it for a bit, I found one that was pleasant to listen to. I love that I can set the speed as well because I dislike slow reading. I really enjoy the app and use it every day almost.

Honestly, my favorite TTS app. I've been using it for years and finally upgraded to the paid version because I wanted to support the devs, but the ads really aren't that bad, and only play when actively in the app every couple of chapters. I use it for fanfiction and it has so many customization options for the voice, including tons of voices, pitch and speed, and individual word pronunciation. You can sort downloads into categories and open several file types. Overall, super super recommend.

I love this app. You can read multiple file formats (epub, pdf, etc), you can choose accents, m/f, pitch, speed... The thing I love the most, though, is that you can change the pronunciation of words. I read a lot of fantasy and books with non-anglo names, so it's amazing for staying immersed in the story. The only thing that would make this app better would be a quick way to switch between voice settings for books with dual/multi POV. I'd gladly pay for advanced features if the dev adds more

Plenty of features, but they're set up in the clunkiest way and the little symbols for them are unintuitive. I shouldn't have to tap around for 15 minutes just to figure out how to paste text into it, ffs. (Just let me long-press and hit "paste" like I can in literally every other interface.) The voices are fine. The labels are a nightmare BUT you seem to be able to rename/customize them, so that's a huge plus. Overall good. I think the bugs will work themselves out eventually.

Update 9.24.25: The app has started skipping sentences that are four words or less when reading out loud. It pauses for the amount of time it would have been reading. This happens while I'm listening on my Bluetooth device, but not when I'm listening on my phone directly. Apparently, there is no fix for this. This app has been an amazing find for me. I can turn any article into an audiobook. I love it. So glad I found it. It's simple, clear, and easy to use.

I am dealing with an error that whenever I press play, audio doesn't start, and a menu pops up saying "select how to manage voices:". I try and select a different option than "Use our voice manager" and nothing happens. I discovered you need to have another app open from the side panel to get the menu to appear. Anyway, the Voice manager for some reason says I don't have the English voice installed so I checked to fix that and I installed the English voices but nothing changed.
