Description
Been using WalknTours for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that gives you these self-guided audio tours for walking around different cities. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of thing.
Here’s what you do – you just pick a city, then there’s a bunch of different tours you can take. You hit start and the app will talk you through the tour, telling you about the history and cool spots as you walk around. There’s also an offline mode which is super handy when you don’t have great cell service. Overall it’s a pretty nifty way to explore a new city.
Look, if you’re into travel and like learning about a place’s history, you’ll probably dig this. It’s not perfect – the audio can be a bit spotty sometimes and the UI is a little clunky. But it does the job and makes sightseeing a lot more interesting than just reading a guidebook.
Editor Opinion
I've tried a bunch of travel apps and this one's pretty solid. The self-guided audio tours are a really cool concept and they do a great job of bringing the cities to life. And i've used it in Charleston, Savannah, and Boston so far and it's made exploring those places a lot more fun and engaging. Definitely beats just wandering around aimlessly. The only downsides are the occasional audio issues and the slightly outdated interface, but overall WalknTours is a really handy tool for travelers.
