Reviews for Warhammer Age of Sigmar

Not great. I mean, it's a huge resource, but now it's all pay wall locked and feels greedy. Every update just adds more ways to make you pay. I recommend using the free online 3rd part options.

Got my first set of warhammer and put it all together. Went to go play with my buddy for the first time and found we can't look up a bunch of stuff without a subscription. Seeing this and everyone else's reviews, I think ima get out before I even start. Definitely don't have good vibes at all from this.

the app is wonderful reference point, but the fact that I have to bounce around to find different information is extremely exasperating this is not a replacement for a physical reference more of a larger Library so that you do not have to purchase so many physical references

Far too many drop-down boxes that aren't open by default, so you have to click over and over to read anything. The ability keywords aren't even clickable to go to the rule for that keyword. The regiment management doesn't let you save particular regiments you like, or move squads between regiments. It's a joke to think they'll want $5/month for this thing soon enough.

This feels like a complete step back, without a paid subscription you're limited to a single saved army, there's no support for battallions, and it feels like less information and previews of the models. The old app and AoS themes had me interested in picking up the hobby, but if this is the direction they're heading in, no thank you.

Yo dawg, we put drop downs in your drop downs so you can drop down while dropping down. Too many taps to get to useful information. Edit 9/18: Dropping to 1 star and uninstalling now that warscrolls are locked behind buying a book. I don't support this kind model for accessing rules for a game. They did at least add user preferences for drop downs. Generic army rules, such as warscrolls, should be accessible and list building should be free.

I spent $230 on the Skaventide box because I wanted to start this game and was told that all the army rules were free on this app only to find that you have to spend and extra $60 on the rules. One entire army in the expense box set I bought is unplayable because this app requires you to pay and extra $60 to get my rules! Imagine if you bought Monoploy and there were no rules, just something telling you to download the Monoploy app, which tells you that you need to spend $60 on a rulebook.

Great app, easy to use, formatting is decent, and the rules are slowly becoming impossible to view without paying big money for rule books... The inability to view my opponent's army rules, or prospective next army rules, makes this app useless for anything other than armies I already have the rules for, and for those id rather have the cards at the table, not the app. Not spending $1000+ to unlock all rules thanks.

Greed strikes again. Don't update to newest version unless you want to be restricted to a single list unless you subscribe. We pay for overpriced models already we shouldn't have to pay more just to make a list. They need to back to how app use to be meaning we can see all warscrolls but have to buy battle tomes to see artifacts and the like. Or better yet keep it free with a different bonus from buying battle tome.

App has some of the same functionality as the 3rd edition app and is easy enough to navigate. I will say UI wise and looking at your information for your units is cumbersome with everything behind separate drop down boxes. Also after the update to my app, I no longer have access to my Skaven information including the warscrolls which is a shame since we had that information at least in the 3rd edition app. Worst part is book isn't out yet so I just can't play my game now this week...

Too many drop-down menus. It would've been better if you had kept to the older design somewhat; keep each alliance in a separate tab, each army in a separate tab, then sort heros and auxiliaries. Instead of having drop downs for everything, just have their full warscroll visible like the previews showed. Plus, the drop downs in the army builder are misleading. They dont show army abilities (like lores and manifestations) until you pick one. Please reduce the drop-down menus and just show things

Ok for what it is. But Games Workshop cannot truly expect me to buy a book ($60 USD), my army ($485 USD), and expect me to pay for a subscription to their own bespoke app which is REQUIRED for points totals. And they do not even include things for the alternate game modes such as Path to Glory (Their narrative campaign) or Spearhead. The app is fine but is incredibly barebones. One army only in the free version and no Upgrade charts or anything Path to Glory. Shenanigans of the highest order.

The app doesn't update timely with point changes or rule changes. You have to buy physical books to view some of the materials in the app. The glossary search doesn't always show what you need to find quickly in a game. Beyond being a paid subscription to write down what you're taking in your lists I'm not sure what the point of this app is.

I'm not paying hundreds of dollars just to buy books for armies I don't have that will be outdated in a month. I love the layout and function of the app but GW shot themselves in the foot. You had an amazing thing going here, 4th edition was making a killing, but now you've made it basically impossible for new players to check out what they may like easily, and for veteran players we now can't look at other armies to strategize. Fix this.

Information on units is now paywalled for each faction. All the drop down menus are also very clunky. The 3e app was far better than the new one in price, information available, and the interface. I will now be using 3rd party sites to build lists, and check out warscrolls. Getting poked until we cough up more dough on a game we have probably all invested thousands into, just to be able to have a plan for what our friends are going to bring to the table is appalling.

Walking into a game not knowing anything about my opponents army is an unnecessary barrier in this game. For a while I was able to read up on enemy units which was not only good for strategy (getting excited about the game itself) But for a smooth game. Now you have to pay hundreds of dollars to be able to gain knowledge in the game or walk in unprepared and sloppy, which hurts the community.

Took away everything that was free that made the app usable. Can't even check warscrolls for possible models I am interested in, or build a list to get an idea of an army I may want to pursue, etc. And even if you have Warhammer+ you still can't unlock the warscrolls, you still need the battletome (as it's always been, but still). The App has gone backwards, so has the game, and company. Games workshop needs to do better for its customers, future customers, it's business, and the hobby.

Everything is being locked behind multiple pay walls, including unit warscrolls. In order to make more than one list at a time, you will need a subscription. In order to view any rules for an army whose book has been released, you will need to purchase said book. This includes the warscrolls. You can't even view what a unit is equipped with, or what they do, or how many models are in the unit, unless you buy the book for that faction.

The app is great if you are loaded with money. You have to buy the Battletome for each army you want to see warscrolls for. Besides the price, the app works pretty great. All they need to do to fix it is stop being greedy. Buying any battletome should unlock them all at the very least. Most people only invest in one faction but we still need to see the others!

App requires you to get a code in the back of codexs if you want to see updates to units after codex launch. Updates feel intentionally slow, has no support for custom point limits or path to glory games. when the edition started the app was amazing. you could look at all the armies in the game and it let you see if you wanted to try something new that you hadn't done before. now, it's a cash grab that is barely usable and doesn't update fast enough to use a a reliable source for point costs.
