So here's my honest take on Watch Duty (Wildfire). I've tested a bunch of emergency/disaster apps and this one's one of the better ones. The real-time updates are super helpful, and I like that it's powered by actual people monitoring the situation, not just government alerts. And the map view works well and it's easy to get the info you need. On the downside, the notifications can get overwhelming at times, and I wish the satellite data was a bit more detailed. But overall, it's a pretty solid option if you want to stay on top of wildfires in your area.

Description

Been using Watch Duty (Wildfire) for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that gives you real-time updates on wildfires around you. Pretty solid if you live in an area with a lot of fires.

Here’s what you do: you can get push notifications about new fires popping up, see the active fire perimeters, and even track the firefighting efforts. And there’s also satellite hotspots and wind speed info – that’s pretty cool. And you can see all this info on a map, which makes it easy to see what’s going on.

Look, if you’re into staying on top of wildfires and getting alerts, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the alerts can be a bit spammy at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want to stay safe and informed.

This app is so crucial. Thank you for making it. That said, a fire recently broke out near a family member's house and I didn't even know until I could...

Love this app but is there a way to toggle the zones on and off? They are handy when a fire is nearby and I want to see evac zones...
