Reviews for Watt Key — Watch App for Tesla

← Back to Watt Key — Watch App for Tesla

Don't work with my Watch 5 Pro. After installation, it works and a few hours later the watch does not find my car and do not connect anymore.

Unfortunately this app has lost most of its features from before. Cannot: 1) turn sentry on or off 2) Vent Windows 3) turn climate on or off Now you have to map your car by entering VIN to connect to the car. Miss the old app

Support over email has dried up sadly but until then a really good app. Would like to be able to customise what is on the tile but I can't seem to do this.

The app works very well. Five stars. Just a security question for the devs. The key for Tesla is encripted and saved only in my local watch or something goes for yours servers? Is really secure and if someone attack your server can grab my Tesla key and control the car?

Awesome app! Very useful for those random times when I go out to my car and I leave my phone in the house. I might even use it as the primary key for my car now. Thanks for the WearOS love!

Worked well, but was a huge drain on the battery. My time before needing a charge . Updated rating tom 5 stars. dropped from about 30 hours, to about 20 hours with this installed. I did several tests. UPDATED: 5 stars, dev responds to question quickly. Customer service [insert chef kiss]

Very simple and straightforward app, I'm just missing NFC paring the watch as a key card for backup.

This app is not working! I enter the VIN, and it can not find it. I would ask for my money back, but that is no option for that.

Absolutely brilliant. Anyone with a Tesla and Wear OS needs this. This actually sets up as a key- you need to swipe the card and everything- and operates over bluetooth like your phone. There is virtually no lag between command triggers and operation- just like your phone. Really, really slick.

App has been very reliable over the last 2 months. Experienced connection issue on 2 separate occasions but can't pin point if it was software update on my car or my watch restarting.

Great app except for the battery drain,I added it to my Galaxy Watch 6 Classic & added a tile, Over the first night my watch lost 50% battery, I turned RUN AS SERVICE off which helped a bit but it still lost 25% battery overnight this is still more than the 6% it normally uses, I have now had to close the app down & open it only if I ever need it which isn't that great to be fair as I assumed it would work as a key the same as my phone, I emailed & asked for help but as yet have had no reply.

Absolutely sucks. cannot get the VIN entered on my phone, multiple attempts, goes around in circles, asking for the VIN on the watch, opens the app , enter the VIN, then back to the watch where it says enter the VIN on the phone! absolutely maddening.

I was quite sceptical this would work, but it's great. Now if I forget my phone my car still knows who I am and lets me in.. I'm not sure how it compares to Watt Time (apart from the key functionality) but the major controls are there and it can be set as a tile for quick access.

App can be a little slow to connect to car but overall works well. When I set tiles to unlock rear doors individually it opens the front doors instead. Really wanted this feature for when my kids say the handles are hot. Front doors work fine but rear doors will only unlock if you use the unlock rear doors feature

This is barely useable on my pixel watch. I've managed to get it working but the Bluetooth shows too often as disconnected. When I ask the app to unlock the car it can take 20 secs or more. Just as you give up, and possibly walk away, the car unlocks!

I've been using this App for over a year now and it has always worked well and as advertised. I just miss the Watt Time App (that I also purchased but is currently not working) since it's cloud based (as opposed to Bluetooth) and can control the Tesla without having to be near the vehicle with more features.

One major complaint. I'm knocking down two stars for this issue because it's really bad. The feature auto unlatch door upon being nearby is very broken. It will unlatch the door while you're sitting inside the car. I was getting ready to drive off and the door just unlatched itself randomly, very dangerous. Other than that everything else seems to be functioning pretty good.

Update; suddenly after tried many times it works, and works quite well. Although when you approach the car it take very long to connect, in compare to your phone Old review: I cannot make it work, sent many times the VIn to my phone and watch up and down. I don't see any promp in my Tesla.

Only works sometimes. if I'm walking up to my car, it won't connect and let me access my car by the time by the time reach the trunk - meaning standing and waiting to use my watch. Also uses approximately 15%-20 of my new Watch8 battery per day by just running in the background. The concept is neat, however in practice it doesn't function how I would have liked.

With a Galaxy Watch 6, the initial configuration does not keep the app active (no notification running either), but the app does exactly what I want it to do. I can swipe up and tap the app at the bottom of my apps drawer and then open the door to the vehicle. I prefer this over always on anyway, because in most cases, I'll want my phone with me and if the app is always active, it increases the chance of leaving the phone behind. Now, I have a backup beyond just the key card.
