Edit: For hours now I've been getting an "Unable to connect to Internet. Please check your network settings" Despite the fact that I am connected to my Internet and I can still read books if I go through my saved lists. Or use the search bar. But the home screen is not working and I can't like or comment on the app. My Internet is working just find, obviously if I'm on the store and can use YouTube, etc. 🤷♀️ Your app is getting again broken.
Reviews for Wattpad – Read & Write Stories
I've been reading on this app since I was in middle school back in 2014, love it. yea the ads are annoying now but they give chances to watch ads to earn skips. so im so so about it. I do wish they had a way that we as the reader can go into the settings and change the language automatically. so anyone could read whatever no matter what the author wrote in their native language. Basically where it can translate automatically for anyone and they choose the language they prefer to read in.
The new Wattpad update has made the app almost unusable. Every time I start reading, it works fine for a few minutes, but then suddenly freezes and crashes. If I choose “close app,” it resets and lets me back in, but the same issue repeats within minutes—every single time without fail. It’s really frustrating because it completely disrupts the reading experience. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible.
I've been using wattpad since 2019 and it's really good. As of lately, it freezes up and closes out. I have lost countless spots on books i was reading and some chapters of my own books aren't being saved. I don't know what is causing this bug but i hope it's fixed soon. I would really hate to change apps after so many years.
I've been using wattpad for roughly 7 years now and it's slowly yet progressively getting worse. The ads are out of control. I miss the version with only occasional ads in between chapters, now it's every single chapter and sometimes you have to sit and watch three. Years ago every book used to be available to read it without wifi and how that's been limited significantly. This app now is just money hungry. On the bright side there's a lot of good books available to read and easy to publish
I wish I didn't have to rely on wifi to write stories that I've been working on for years. It was so much easier to write offline and only worry about the sync problem between devices because that was an easy fix when I got around wifi again way back when. And some of us broke people don't always have access to wifi or a data plan. I liked it better when it was broke people friendly. Update to this review! All of my drafts have disappeared! Literally over 10 years of drafts are gone! Why!?
I am beyond frustrated. I've been trying to write a story for months, but have been facing constant set backs due to this app's inability to save progress. Even if I spam the save option, I get an error telling me that it failed to save the section. edit: I would give negative stars if I could. Wattpad logged me out of my account and deleted all of my drafts. 5 months of work, all gone. Do not download.
Okay, something weird is going on with the app rn. It worked mostly fine for the months I had it, only not working when internet is bad (which is normal ig), but it says I'm having connectivity issues and need to re-login, but I can still see all my stuff, except the revisions I just made on the desktop version. I primarily use the app because I don't have a computer I can access at all times, but the stuff I wrote works just fine on it, even showing the new revisions. What's up with that?
I've had this issue for a LONG time, but when I stop typing for a while, Wattpad will go all the way to the bottom of a chapter I'm editing and then change the formatting. by changing the paragraph from left to right to the middle, and it's becoming increasingly irritating and making the app very difficult to deal with and is discouraging writing. I'm unsure if it's the device I'm using, but either way, it's harming my experience using the app.
I lve had this app for years now and only thing I have to say is there's to many ads and I miss the number of offline books you can read. The ads don't make it enjoyable anymore and have become quite annoying and bothersome. not what it used to be. it's still a good platform, I enjoy the books I find and love that you can publish your own work onto the platform and get good feedback here and there. but like I said, the ads are just ruining it for me so I have to give it 3 ⭐
