Don't bother after the new update! They don't care about small businesses. All I used the app for was to send Invoices/Estimates. Figured all the promo I do for them via their logo on every one I send was enough. Nope. Now they want to charge $16 per month just to send Estimates within the app itself. The business I work for is small and family owned that works paycheck to check. We can't afford another expense and will be switching to a different, free software and advertise for them instead.

Instead of charging extra to get the receipts function back, how about addressing the more pertinent issues?
This is the worst app ever.... Do not get this. There is no help and it just makes the accounting process harder. I would not recommend this to anyone. It does not sync with outside apps or programs and is not user friendly. It's AI learning is horrible compared to QuickBooks and I had to go in and make changes every time. The point is to save you time, not add more work. If I could give it zero stars I would of...
I liked this app. Been using it for about 3 years now, it was always free, which being a small business it was very helpful. But now all of a sudden I can't send invoices without paying every month.. What a disappointment... You guys always made a point to be sure everyone knew it was always free . But now it's not and now I got to find a new app.. Thanks for not sticking to your motive and hurting the little guy!
Not a great experience. We have been using Wave for several years - We were sold on their original mission "always free" and they would be funded by paid services like bookeeping and advisors. Well, it's no longer free. also, features that should be included in any accounting package like the ability to create a purchase order - we have asked for years and still not there. lately they misclassified my business and cut off my ability to receive payments. we are working on switching to Xero.
Currently disappointed. I was excited to see that Wave had an app for quick invoicing. Well I used the app to send some invoices on the go. However I just went in the app to view them and NOTHING is there! Evening the invoice template I created and saved is not there! I've google to find an answer and haven't found anything. So basically I have to redo all the invoices and customers are now waiting. At this point I dont recommend the app to complement the website when the website isn't an optio
Don't bother with any of their subscription models. I have used wave free version successfully for 3 non profits and now one for profit for years. I recently added the receipts package for the for profit, and let me tell you it works not at all. I've spent a month with support and they have no solutions. it's absolutely worthless, unfortunately
Crashes when charging a card on file. Will not always allow me to charge a saved card on file. Have to login to the website from the phone. Please add estimates and the ability to create and edit recurring invoices from the app. So i dont have to use a PC or try to use a website on the phone. Also, the increase in the fee by another 30 cents to 60 cents makes this very expensive for small transactions. Also, cannot edit recurring invoices from the app.
Used it for a year or so, and it worked great. Recently, I was prompted to update the app. Now, when I try to scan receipts, they come out blurry distorted gibberish. I have recipts piling up. I have tried to get help, but the help bot was useless, and emails to the company have been ignored for weeks now. I'm about to cancel my subscription and find another option.
Overall decent app. I would give four or five stars, the only problem is there is absolutely no customer support whatsoever. There's no number to call, no email support, NOTHING! It honestly makes me want to give two stars thinking about it, but I'll stick to 3 because we have used it for a good while now and dealt with it, but it's obnoxious. Completely unprofessional in every way.
I can't upload receipts half the time, and they are piling up. That is one of the only reasons I left QuickBooks for Wave, so if they don't fix that, I won't be renewing when it comes time to renew. fix your app, Wave!!!! I paid good money that I could have used on QBs!!!
So initially this app was great for sending estimates and invoices and receiving payments. However, they continue to take outrageously high payment processing fees out of EVERY TRANSACTION. the MOST FRUSTRATING PART: The app freezes and fails to load my information at the most CRUCIAL TIMES. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling- still will not work for iver a month now. Customer service is non-existent so far.
UPDATE: They have fixed the issue with the login, so I'm updating my review. App works great now! Original review: App works fine but giving it 3 stars because it doesn't remember my login or let me login with biometrics, only unlock it. Very annoying. Worked with their tech support thinking it was a hidden setting. Couldn't even get them to understand what i was asking for. They just kept pushing the lock option, which is already on amd has nothing to do with the initial login.
I've updated my rating. After using the app for several years, it began getting really buggy. The app wouldn't open. I'd uninstall and reinstall several times, then either be unable to open app or login. I tried the paid 'Pro' version, hoping it would help, but problems persisted. The web version is really clunky to use with a cellphone. Please fix it. Unfortunately, I depend on it.
Go back to the old app. The update doesn't work and quite frankly if I can't use it from my phone it's useless! 2 years ago I said above, we were great for a while now same issues are starting with the last update. (whoops something went wrong) and nothing works. I will be switching to quickbooks as they have their stuff together.
Been using Wave Accounting for years & have always had some issues with Estimates/Invoices going through, have to send multiple times some of the time for them to get through. Paid for the receipt subscription for over a year & it hardly ever worked. Got it back again & now it works Even Less than it did before. I literally cannot upload 1 receipt without an issue, it kicks me out of the app, the receipt upload area or takes forever to upload the document until it finally fails. but they got.
No longer works. I show up to a customer's house, do the job, then sit in the workvan for several minutes waiting for the app to load... for the last couple of weeks it never opens. Now I have to tell my customers that I'll send the invoice later instead of getting paid on the spot. When it worked (which it did for years) it worked great. Now it's making ME look unprofessional.
In general it is a good app for book keeping. The biggest issue I have is there is no auto save feature on estimates or invoices. If you are working and get a phone call or have to step away for too long and don't manually save which involves go out of editing mode and back in you lose work sometimes a lot of work. It is making me really look at other more full featured products.
On the Free plan? Only download if you want a pretty app. Absolutely useless otherwise. I have a startup and I was just looking for a simple service to keep track of my early expenses. I will eventually pay for a service, but I'm literally not spending much or making anything. Everything online pointed to downloading the app for convenience, but I don't have access to simple things like bookkeeping. tbh I'm probably going to find a different service or go back to spreadsheets.
I have been a Wave customer for 3 years now. If your business is small and you don't have inventory or payroll, then its fine. The moment I opted for their payroll and tax services, things went south real fast. Money has been taken from my account with no notice or information on what tax agencies are being paid. They send you no receipts, but expect you to somehow know what agencies that money is intended for and to track the bookkeeping of it yourself. Their customer service is a joke.
