Reviews for Wavelet: headphone specific EQ

update again: it must have been a fluke or maybe the app was just having a good day bc this issue is once again a MAJOR problem update: one of the developers responded and helped me, so it works great again now. turn on the limiter if you have this problem! original post: Worked great for months! Then, all of a sudden it started causing my music to go in and out constantly and distorting the sound. I've already checked to make sure that it's not my earbuds (no cuts in and out with wavelet off), the music only distorts and cuts in and out when wavelet is on :(

- Best equalizer on the market. It is free. - Has preset eqs for a lot of popular headphones. - Extra features (bass boat, reverberations , etc) that actually work. Just install this and change your phone permissions to let this app run always in the background - to eq your music from other apps. Good on privacy as well. Can't go wrong with this one.

I'm not compelled to write reviews often but this is THE APP for Bluetooth earbud users who want more oomph from their gear. Trying other volume-boosting apps would distort the music way too much. This lets my Shure Aonic 5's shine the way they're meant to. With the AutoEQ preset and the graphic EQ maxed, I have finally found the clarity and punch (AND VOLUME!!) I've been missing since 3.5mm fell off on phones. Dev, you're a godsend and earned a place in whatever Good Place you believe in!

Hands-down the best mobile equalizer app. Incredible functionality, amazing features, and user-friendly UI, all for free and without intrusive ads. Not only that, the AutoEQ feature works exactly as advertised. They have available EQ profiles for every pair of headphones that's even a little popular, and if they somehow don't have one for yours (which is really unlikely), you can use their built-in graphic EQ to tweak the sound to perfection. I can't believe it took me this long to discover it.

I love the app and what it does, but I would love it if they made it to where whenever you open a music app or anything that plays sound, Wavelet automatically turns on and whenever Spotify or whatever app closes it turns it off. So that it doesn't drain the battery of your phone and so you don't have to manually turn it on and off everytime you want to use it.

This is the only free way I know to get system-wide, fine-tuned EQ on Android without root, and it works really well if you like the target curve. Unfortunately, I don't. I made a custom GraphicEQ file using all frequency values online with no substitutions, but the app throws an error when I try to import it. Guess l'll have to make do with the 9-band version, which is much less precise. For someone who's not a power-user? Get it. Worst case, you uninstall a free app after not liking it.

It seems to me that this is a sweet little app, at least if your head/earphones match something on the list of presets. (I found that the preset profile for the original airpod worked very well for me by just dialing the depth of effect down.) But there's also a manual 'graphic EQ' that, while it doesn't have the same fine-tuning precision, feels relatively smooth and useful. The dynamic processor (compressor/limiter) is also quite useful, with a more or less full set of parameter controls.

Easily the best EQ app I've tried over the past decade. Definitely the most polished, too. I didn't expect it to, but the included preset for my Master & Dynamic earbuds made them sound even better - much better bass control with it enabled. It's also been good for adjusting the sound of my terrible car speakers to make them somewhat listenable.

Just installed on my Pixel 5 using Shure 315 earbuds. I tested it with Spotify and the improvement in quality is undeniable. That being said there is one fatal flaw that, if I can't find a fix for, may require me to uninstall. Whenever I turn the EQ on, the volume is cut significantly, then when I adjust the volume to a good listening level and something happens on the phone that bypasses the EQ (I learned the hard way that sample playing a song in Spotify does this), my eardrums get blasted.

Used the app for maybe a year and all of a sudden the headphone specific profiles and custom profiles have been removed? That was the best part of this app. UPDATE: Dev. reached out quickly and helped me trouble shoot which led to a solution. Turns out it was an error happening on my phone, not a removal of features. I was wrong!
