Reviews for Waymo

Amazing. Super cool experience. Technology never ceases to amaze. App was easy to navigate and responsive. The wait time was extremely low, plenty of cars in the area. We were a bit nervous to try it but once we were in motion it was obvious there were plenty of safety protocols in place. We only went a little over a mile but there was plenty of traffic, pedestrians, and bicyclists to put it to t he test. We had a very successful and pleasant ride.

Last 3 trips have been nightmares. Worked well at the beginning but DO NOT rely on Waymo if you're in a time crunch, or need to be dropped off somewhere specific (within a block). Also if you schedule a ride, there's no guarantee the car will show up. No messaging ahead of time. Nothing to help you out as a user.

The app malfunctions, sometimes. The cars now are dirty, the wait times for a waymo are longer, the pick up times are longer and sometimes they give you a set time and out of nowhere changes to a longer pick up time. Sometimes the waymo cars get stuck.

Would've been 5 stars if they listened to feedback. The service used to be phenomenal listening to music with YouTube music or any app cast to waymo, Spotify is the only option now ew, the iHeartRadio stations no longer work aside from the pre added stations, a real bummer paying more to have music I don't like, think I'll go back with Uber and Lyft and save my money. When I contacted support they did not resolve this and felt more frustrated after speaking with them.

Scheduling system allowed me to select a car and gave me an ETA. The car remained showing as "1 minute away. Dropping another driver off." For 20 minutes. I chatted with support, and they confirmes no cars were actually free. System needs improvement to not waste customers' time.

Fantastic how it gives you one arrival time, then you book it and the time doubles... Also still runs my phone hot as hell. Waiting for a car to show up today and my phone sitting at 114°F. This is after buying a brand new phone, partially thinking it must've been my phone that had the overheating issue. The app sucks! Unless you plan to leave 6 times sooner than it says you should you will be late to wherever you are going, and it won't be in the chosen spot.

Very cool ride! I initially put in the wrong pickup address. When the app said the car had arrived I realized it was the wrong address.. I updated the pickup location and the car rerouted and picked us up 2 minutes later! so smooth!! we arrived on time. I would definitely use Waymo again! It was also half the price of Uber too!

We took 2 rides whilst on holiday in San Francisco (around 20 minutes each) from Fisherman's Wharf to Golden Gate. Both were enjoyable. I was impressed how the car had to deal with poorly organised construction at its first crossroads, when the construction crew were reversing a cement truck. I felt safe at all times. The App is super easy to use and even helps you find your pick-up point, which was useful for us, being unfamiliar with the area. I wish more cities including the UK had them.

Fun novelty if you don't have to rely on it, but it takes about 2x as long as a human would to navigate traffic. Got stuck and doubled the ride time and couldn't get a hold of support to get unstuck. I finally yelled at the pedestrian who wasn't in the way of traffic but who the car wouldn't go past. Probably fine away from busy streets or rush hour, but don't rely on this to commute, especially if you have any time pressure at all, even if you think you've left lots of time

Amazing service! I have social anxiety and live in LA so this is a lifesaver for me! Great customer service as well! The only downside is music selection and lack of an aux cord port or BT connection for a fully personalized experience, but their selection is still fairly impressive even if the same tracks are often shuffled into the various genres. Otherwise it's very safe and extremely efficient! Overall a 9.5/10 in my book! 💜

I used this service 178 times while I waited to procure a vehicle for myself. I only had 2 incidents, one of them being kind of bad but I was unharmed. It's smooth, it's quick and it's accurate. Incredibly comfortable and quite interior. Fair pricing when compared to similar services. I will miss using it daily, and I couldn't recommend it enough.

The app works VERY well, though you should make sure that your phone's compass and sense of orientation is well calibrated so that the app doesn't tell you your car is 8 yards/meters away when you're standing right there. When your phone's sensors aren't well calibrated you MAY have trouble unlocking the doors for a little while until Bluetooth convinces the app/car that you're standing right next to the car door with your phone on the lock.😅

Took a little to figure out how to get more exact pickup and drop-off locations. But other than that was the best pay-to ride service out there. By alot. By a ridiculous amount. Drive was smooth, worry free, and comfortable. But most of all, because every car and driver is the same, Waymo is consistent unlike other rideshare apps.

It was ok. At first it was good, pickup went well and getting into the car was easy. A little while into the drive the car started to malfunction and kept pulling over. We called ride support and got put on the phone with two people at the same time. We finally got someone to help us, but were in a bit of a rush and so we just got out, though eventually they did get it working. Overall I would say do this more for the cool experience, but know that it is technology and sometimes it won't work.

Neat way to get around. I thought strange that the price increases based on time of day or increased use times, just like for Uber or Lyft. Waymo also says it sometimes will adjust your pickup/drop off points for safety reasons. Our Waymo actually drove right past our hotel to pick us up a block away, where we were told to walk to. It also dropped us off at the end of the block. It would've been just as easy to pick us up directly across the street from our hotel and drop us off in front of it.

Affordable and smooth ride. Easy to navigate app. The price offered is the final price since there is no tipping. When will Waymo come to Denver?! The only downside is that the car stayed in the left lane, the entire ride doing exactly the speed limit. The left lane is for passing only, and other cars had to go around on the right. Regardless, I highly recommend it.

Well, this is neat. Pricing is good, hope that lasts. The self- driving cars drive better than most humans do. They take very efficient routes to your destination, distinctly different from the routes that Lyft and Uber use. Timing for waits and driving are really accurate. The app works great, though I had to search for the Cancel Ride button, which you have to scroll to see. I'm impressed.

while the app works fine I've had to give up on the service in San Fran. too many times we have been dropped off in dangerous locations that were blocks from our intended destination. cost is probably the biggest reason. it's always more expensive than Lyft or Uber and often times it's twice as much or more. it's a pretty useless service for short trips when you look at cost per mile. it was a fun gimmick but that's all it is, a gimmick. your paying a hefty premium to experience it.

Amazing! The app was easy to use. The car was comfortable to ride in and the drive was smooth. I am an anxiety prone passenger while riding in cars. I was relaxed the entire way; to the point I forgot someone was driving at times. The fare price is extremely reasonable and much cheaper than other options. The downfall.... I could not book a car for a future time. I don't like to wait until the l minute to finalize my transportation. I would have given Waymo One five stars if it weren't for that.

App and vehicle interaction are seamless, and the ride is impressively smooth. hard to believe how mature of an experience this is these days. Took a slightly unusual route to the airport, but I'm pretty sure that was to minimize traffic interaction. It didn't really add any time, so it's all the same to be. Avoiding freeways did probably add 10 minutes, but that's a price I'm happy to pay. Cost was about the same as an Uber.
