Been using the WGN-TV app for a couple months now. It’s basically a news app that lets you watch live newscasts and read stories from your local Chicago area. Pretty solid if you’re into keeping up with what’s going on in your community.
Here’s what you can do – you can stream the latest news broadcasts right on your phone, and there’s also a ton of articles covering breaking stories, weather, traffic, and more. It’s got push notifications for major news alerts too, so you’re always in the loop. Took me a while to figure out some of the features but it’s pretty user-friendly overall.
Look, if you’re a news junkie like me, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the ads can get a little annoying – but it does the job of keeping you informed on what’s happening in Chicago. Worth checking out if you wanna stay up to date on your local news.

So here's my honest take on the WGN-TV app. I've tried a bunch of different local news apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The live streams of the newscasts are great, and I like how you can also read all the latest articles and breaking news stories. The weather and traffic features are useful too. The only real downside is the ads can get a bit much if you don't pay for the premium version. But other than that, it's a pretty well-rounded local news app that I'd recommend if you're in the Chicago area.
