Helps me organize my manga collection
Reviews for Whakoom: Organize Your Comics!
← Back to Whakoom: Organize Your Comics!I love it!, I can play ap much magas, I was actually searching for BNHA and Kinetsu no Yaiba, but, I ended putting other things. This is is so entertaining!
It asked me to pay money to add something to my collection. If I have to pay a monthly fee for basic functionality then you don't deserve my money.
Most the comics I looked up didn't have the variant covers listed. Horrible for a collection app.
I have to uninstall this because it feels like it is a "my pick of what is Manga" not a actual helping app Tail of the moon you only have volume one, yoki koto kiku is not there and Now is not there not even princess ai this app feels like the creators gave up...poor app sorry for your loss
Got tired of scanning comics and not recognizing them. I started scanning my Superman collection and didn't recognize any of them. It also couldn't seem to recognize variant covers either. Waste of time
Downloaded the app...the very first five comics I pulled to add was not recognized. All older books DC, Star, Marvel. Very disappointing.
Needs to be updated. Old and missing information. Horrible UI. They ask you to contribute to the app by adding information and photos but lock the upgrades behind a pay wall? Do you want my money or my knowledge? App is worthless. Use League of Comic Geeks.
I'm just getting started, but leaving 5 stars. The app itself is nice looking, and NOT clunky like some websites and apps available. Going to see how things are as I continue using the app.
Gave up after scanning 10 books and they couldn't find any of them. Then the one it did find it would not let me change to a varient I have. Much more work needs to be done to this app
Of all things this app has to offer, there are two key important features missing and or just not working for me. Scanning comes almost as an inconvenience because its not quick or productive as well as does not register any Vareint Covers When this is fixed I will for sure update my review.
Great app for comic collectors. Very easy to use. You can also use your account on a PC. You can contribute and communicate with other collectors. You can upgrade to PRO and enjoy further benefits. I've tried other apps/software and, in my opinion, this is the best one. Highly recommended.
It's a nice app to have, but the issue I seem to keep having is that most of the comics I scan don't pop up, so I have to search for them instead. The other problem I have is the series says I am up to date when I have the volume beyond what is on the app and I don't know how to add it in my collection.
The product sucks. After you put so many up, they force you to go pro blocking any more. To add to the "supposed" frustration mentioned by the self-justified bobblehead below, don't use any of these apps, they're just come ons to dopamine your money. The best data cataloging for comic collectors is comic rack. The prog went down sometime in 2011 but the community edition is worth the installation and beats the competition by miles ! You can get it at GitHub.
The interface is nice & the notice of upcoming titles is nice. Wish we could edit existing entries. Va Merge the variants & normal covers together under. My earlier concerns still stand as an American comics buyer. Not enough titles are recognized. To remedy this it'd be nice to be able to import CSV files & Metadata from other collection managers.
The only reason I used the app was to be up to date with the new releases and it is now behind a paywall. Will uninstall for sure.
I like it enough so far. I got the membership just to add my current series and then unsubscribed. We'll see how I like it after the month is up. One thing I really wish for is to be able to filter by language. I keep adding the Spanish variant of series to my collection instead of the English variant. I wish I could filter out all other languages.
Okay so I've only added about 41 books but my current verdict is: only if you pay for the membership it's worth your time. Basically just counts what you have without the membership. Can't even sort by publisher without it. In it's current state, if you aren't looking to pay, just stick with Libib still. Basically same features but at least you can group series. I do like that Whakoom sorts by series already, though. Also trouble recognizing series from the early 2000's. Membership is $20 a year
I tried app . Many older books does not have bar codes. Manually entered them . Then get a email to pay for app. Went to pay and said error happened . To pay is not in USD dollars . I entered it few times to go to pro and payment error. Then I get a notice from bank of America and locked my card . Not sure why payment did not work think was the currency. I'll try clz shame I spent hours adding 5 long boxes and have more .
Terrible value proposition for users. First of all, the application relies on user submitted data, as new volumes are not added automatically or by any employee, but the same users that contribute to the database can't actually use it fully without a recurring subscription which no-one likes. Recently, they also further limited the functionality of free users so now you are no longer notified about upcoming releases. A one time purchase for the app, or a lifetime buy option would go a long way
