Pro version has killed the app, Photo mode is now locked even though it's been available for years for FREE!

Quite often it gives me completely made up words when I use it in language different from English. And in English there's a different location with a word with one letter difference. That is killing the point of using words. Might as well use 3 x 4 digit numbers. Or 5 digit. Whatever is needed. Digits don't sound as similar to each other when read over the phone as words with one different letter do.

Just testing it out. Looks like a very useful idea especially in large parks or in forests or when going hiking or camping etc.

don't really enjoy it now because you took away stuff that we use and put it behind a pro now. what's the point? not a good choice in management or app design. if you want people to use this, you should not start locking behind pay we were use this for search and rescue volunteer. we used to use it for a lot but now we're not. we're thinking about moving away because you have a locked it behind a paywall and volunteers can't use it and we use promote it. we may not promote it

why can you not change orientation when using it on a tablet? I like to plan all my routes and destinations on the tablet, much easier on a big screen, the map view is in portrait view yet the menu settings can be in landscape if you have the tablet turned that way, why can't we have the map view in landscape also?

play earlier reported a possible problem on your end with uninstalling and installing the beta and the problem was I was using the wrong account, oops I'm sorry, everyone look out for that when you're joining a beta. regarding the pro version now and maybe you added it today in the app you can click on pro and it takes you to your normal payment system inside Google play store, thank you for that I don't know if it was an oversight or I wasn't paying attention

Another app where once again the march of 'progress' has made it less functional. Easy 5 Star application a few months ago but now they have paywalled various features that was provided as standard literally a update or so ago. Photo Mode for instance? Never premium previously free content.

More difficult and frustrating to use than it should be. It is promoted as being useful in emergencies, but is virtually useless without a good data connection, a blank screen is displayed. A basic low resolution backup map is essential. The main issue is that it is now trying to spam adverts and push paid subscriptions, to be useful it needs to be free and open source.

When I was in Devon at a remote place where a postcode covered a wide vast of Area and I could not pinpoint the exact place/point to call RAC for breakdown Service. Luckily RAC told me about this App, which I quickly downloaded and found exactly the right spot/area where I had broken down. I just had to text my 3 words for that particular spot to RAC and they found me without any problem. A must have app!!

With the latest version, the interface has become cluttered with advert links for the Pro (paid) service. It was once very good, now it's OK. Developers should look to remove all the paid link references.

I really like this app and use it to send destinations to my navigation apps. It has a big issue though that hasn't been fixed in a long time. When you search for a business by name, it doesn't show the results nearest to my current location. It shows random results for that business name that are hundreds and sometimes thousands of miles (in other countries) away. I have to add my current city to the search field before it finds the same business name nearest to me.

Puts you into a false sense of security and makes 999 situations even more stressful. Previously if you'd just installed the app or hadn't used it in a while it still showed you the map. Now in situations you need it (probably in low signal areas) you need to sign in or register which isn't something you'd have the mental capacity for when calling the emergency service. Or work out where the (not obvious) close button is.

Classic example of a company destroying their app by charging end users instead of the people that actually make money from the data. Could not do a basic function in the app (switch to Safelite view to grab the location of my front door) With this change I would be worried about relying on it in emergencies now. Now uninstalled after 5 years of use.

working in emergency services this app can save a life there have been numerous occasions where what3words has actually been paramount in finding a person and at times saving them from harm or their life. I never really thought much of it until working where I do. All I would say is don't wait until you really need it to download it. Amb, police and fire all use the app and a what3words can actually find you when you don't know where you are

After the last update(latest version), it is not possible to paste and type at "Add label" on mobile. The line window is covered and moves up. It is also very difficult to use the search by the first letters of the entry. Only a few search lines appear. It would be good if this could be fixed.

used as a safeguard when running off-road to ensure that, if the worst happens, I can get a very precise location out for help. also used it for treasure hunts and general navigation. if I had one quibble, it is that I can set a target location look at my route and my blue dot approaching the target spot... but if I accidentally do a one finger touch while doing a 2 finger zoom gesture, my target square moves... a "did you mean this" check before moving the target!

It's fine, it works and does the job. But as the top comment says, there's too many notifications. This isn't exactly an app you need to use often, so why do I need a random useless notification every few days? It just results in people blocking all notifications from the app every time.

City good, country not so good. Taking it doesn't use GPS but instead locating me via multiple phone towers, this works ok in the city where lots of options are great. Head out to the bush where it's more important to have this app and it's a long way off. I spoke to the fire department, they do not trust it and it's why I guess it's not become the norm. They'd rather actual coordinates from the emergency app. I think what3words started off great but without government uptake it's left it sad.

I thought this was a great app and a valuable thing to have on my phone. However, over the past few days, despite my not having used it, I'm nearly constantly getting a pop-up that says "what3words keeps stopping". I've written the developer but have not received any response. I hate to uninstall this, but its popping up every minute or two, which is decimating my ability to use my phone for anything useful without interruption. I hope I hear and get remedy from the developers very, very soon.

I love what3words, but the app doesn't integrate with Android Auto, so I don't know how I'm supposed to use it to navigate anywhere in my car. You can send a destination to Google Maps by using the phone screen, but that doesn't work when you're in your car. If you send the destination before getting in your car, it doesn't show up in Android Auto. This is their primary use case and it just doesn't work.
