So here's my honest take on What's My Note?. I've tested a bunch of music learning apps and this one's pretty solid. The core functionality works really well - being able to hear the pitches by tapping the notes is super helpful, especially for practicing tricky intervals or parts. The app looks decent too, though the UI could use some polishing. Not gonna lie, it took me a while to figure out some of the features. But overall, if you need an easy way to learn your vocal parts, this is a pretty good option.

  • Works with 8MP+ cameras
  • Simple and straightforward to use once you get the hang of it

Cons

  • Interface feels a bit dated and clunky
  • Some features not super intuitive, took time to figure out
  • Doesn't actually play full scores, just individual notes
  • May not work well with low-quality photos

Description

Been using What’s My Note? for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you take photos of sheet music and then tap on the notes to hear the pitches. Pretty solid app if you’re into music learning and practice.

Here’s what you do: you can either snap a photo of your sheet music or import it from your phone’s gallery. Then you just tap on the notes and it’ll play the pitch. There’s also an option to repeat the notes or intervals, which is pretty cool. And it works with 8MP or higher cameras – took me a while to figure that out but it’s useful.

Look, if you’re a singer, choir member, or music student, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you need help learning your vocal parts.

It's tricky to take the picture but once you've got it it works well. It does seem that it can read the key signature but not accidentals within the music....

The Record button is big and in the way.
