Description
Been using the Wikipedia app for a while now and it’s honestly a pretty solid way to access all that info. Basically it’s the mobile version of the famous online encyclopedia, with over 40 million articles in hundreds of languages. You can search for any topic and dive right in – there’s a ton of info on everything from history and science to pop culture and current events.
The best part is it’s completely free and ad-free. The Wikimedia Foundation keeps this running as a nonprofit, so you don’t have to deal with any ads or paywalls. You can just browse and learn to your heart’s content. There’s also cool features like the ability to save articles for offline reading and even get notifications about trending topics.
Look, if you’re the type who’s always curious about stuff and loves learning new things, you’ll probably get a lot of use out of this app. It’s not perfect – the design is a little dated and the search function can be finicky sometimes. But overall it’s a super handy tool to have on your phone. Definitely worth checking out.
Editor Opinion
So here's my take on the Wikipedia app. I've tried out a bunch of different reference and learning apps, and this is one of the best ones I've found. It's got a ton of depth and breadth of information, and the fact that it's completely free and ad-free is a huge plus. And the interface is simple and easy to navigate, though it could use a visual refresh. My main gripe is the search - it can be hit or miss sometimes, and I wish the related articles and recommendations were a bit more on-point. But those are relatively minor issues. Overall, if you're looking for a go-to source of knowledge right at your fingertips, the Wikipedia app is definitely worth downloading.

For more than 6 months every single article that I open has the previous article's picture at the top. it's not looking great that they still haven't fixed this.
