Reviews for Wim Hof Method: Breathwork

Jayden Thorup

This app was wonderful, I even had a subscription any time I could afford it. Now the app has limited even basic logging to breathing and showers. I am now tracking my progress elsewhere. I do an ice bath everyday, and have found a third party breath bubble. I used to do the slow breathing due to my higher altitude, so the YouTube does not work well for me at the rate of breath it provides. I also frequently go beyond the time limits of the breath hold on the site, but it is difficult to pause the video and track your time. I purchased the hardback book and use it for the all the information.

Useful app that continues to add new content and features, more exercises, challanges, and breathing bubble customization. Subscription model is not for everyone, and I hope that the developers will add some more payment options (for example a less expensive basic sub below the current one, and a family plan above the current sub, ideally a few fundamental elements like the bubble could be one time purchases). For my use, it's a good value and I'd recommend it.

It's a solid app. Yeah, it's a subscription, but not an expensive one. And it has really made the Wim Hof Method more accessible for me. I bought the Fundamentals course and have found myself using the app's guided breathing over the course's. I also love the shower timer. Surprisingly useful little app. For those upset that it's not free, keep in mind that the cost to maintain the app went up significantly when they hired professional software developers (not cheap).

I like the app, but it needs work. Literally every other day, the app locks up "syncing results" and won't load until I restart my phone. Also, should have a pause button during breathing and rounds, as sometimes you have to yawn, swallow, whatever and can't keep pace with the breath bubble even when it's set on slow. Since it locks up every other day, its just too frustrating for me to use.

The app works well at first. But while it says there are exercises that are free, after a week those "free" exercises just go to the subscription screen. And even after closing that, it says, "You can still use the free exercises." Then when I try to use them it goes again to the subscription page. Stop lying and tell people it's only free for a week!

Edit: the app has moved to a subscription plan after I had paid for it previously. I'm quite disappointed in the bait and switch. @ $45 a year the app is over priced for the features I do use. The guided breathing bubble I can find from other apps for free with tracking which is my primary use. Was a great app. Simple. Useful. Great way to start the day. Over priced

Most of the things are now working w/o problems. The app is improving and I'm glad to see that. Good job! Please consider adding the following features: - option to delete a single breathing excercise round. Sometimes I accidentally add a round, when I intend to finish. The retention time then messes up my average and I have to reset the results and re-enter them manually, since there is no delete option. - option to delete a single record when logging the excercizes manually - same reason.

It's pretty good and I like that you can do the breathing with Wim. It's hard to interact with the app during breathing though. If the breathing experience was more like the YouTube videos, it would be better. A warning before retention because you can't really tell when it's time with your eyes closed. And a brief pause between rounds. The timing gets thrown off and it ends up recording another round for a few seconds while you try to tap to stop.

The app itself is very nice. However I think it's lame how I paid $3 in the begining to unlock the full version and use the breathing bubble, and then they switched over a month and a half later to a paid version where you have to pay $17.99 a month just to do the basic breathing exercises. I'll delete it once my free trial is up, and find a different app to do breathing exercises. I don't understand why they think their program is worth $17.99 a month when it's basically just an animated timer.

I enjoy the app and have told family and friends to check it out. It has a hard time auto rotating videos on the iPad and occasionally on my Pixel phone. I would give five starts if a couple of things were added. I would like to be able to cast to my TV. The guided breathing bubble is great. It would be even better if you could set the number of breaths you wanted to take and adjust the rate more than the current two options. I recommend the app and the method.
